Wizard: I Can Refine Everything

Chapter 122: The Expanding School

Sometimes, the change of an era happens in just one day.

Yesterday, the Wizards of the Shape-shifting School and Alchemy School were still discussing which academy to attack, and today, the Judicial Department directly intervened and arrested all the Wizards involved in the internal conflict.

The Wizards pleaded to the higher-ups, but before their requests could reach the Communication Crystal Ball of the bigwigs, the bigwigs were already taken away by the Judicial Department.

The Miracle Wizards, escorted by the Wizards of the Judicial Department, returned to their respective academies. Upon seeing those from other schools being taken away by the Judicial Department, the Miracle Wizards felt a mix of relief and dissatisfaction.

"These bastards got off easy," cursed one Wizard.

However, with the appearance of the Truth Council's announcement about the internal conflict, the dissatisfaction quickly dissipated.

[...All those planning to organize an attack on the academy will be enlisted in the Atonement Army, and those lacking in combat ability will undergo personality reshaping. Those who participated in attacking the academy will be fined or face punishment by the Atonement Army based on their Wizard level and number of killings. Detailed trial procedures will be announced by the Judicial Department.]

The Atonement Army is almost equivalent to a penal battalion during World War II, and Wizards entering it would need to survive until the end of the war to complete their atonement.

If a Wizard suffers severe injuries during this process that render them unable to fight, they will undergo personality reshaping and then join the Wizard Academy as instructors, continuing to contribute to the Wizard Civilization.

Frankly speaking, entering the Atonement Army is akin to receiving a death sentence.

This penalty is currently the most severe in the Wizard World—although the Wizard World is quite affluent now, the frugal habits formed during the Galaxy Mayfly War haven't disappeared. The past tortures specifically designed for suffering are no longer in existence.

As for the punishment of the participants, although some have opinions, the vast majority of Wizards understand that it's impossible for the Wizard Civilization to send so many Wizards into the Atonement Army together.

There were too many Wizards involved in the internal conflict, and even in peacetime, exterminating them all would be a shocking act, let alone during wartime.

However, even though the internal conflict has ended, the mess left behind will not simply disappear.

Ninety percent of the academies of the Miracle School and Curse School were plundered, and rebuilding these fortress-like academies is no easy task.

Moreover, the internal conflict resulted in the management of many academies from the other five schools being sent to the Atonement Army. This power vacuum must be filled, and it must be filled by Wizards of the Miracle School and Curse School.

Additionally, this internal conflict led to issues in the Wizard training system, making this batch of Wizards likely the least stable in quality.

There are also issues caused by the internal conflict such as material transportation problems, factory resource allocation issues, army mobilization problems... all of which require people to handle.

For this reason, Old Abel, as a Five Rings Great Wizard, has been so busy that his hair has turned significantly white.

However, it's a kind of joyful busy.

This internal conflict solidified Richard's position as the leader of the Wizard Civilization, and not only was the development of the Miracle School unimpeded, but it also received enormous promotion.

In the foreseeable future, the Miracle School will become the most thriving school of the Wizard Civilization.

"...Assign Mocha to manage Academy No. 75, yes, Mocha of Academy No. 758."

Hum!

Communication ended.

In the office, Old Abel slumped in his chair, not wanting to move at all.

The Miracle School is not very large, and there are limited management personnel available, even fewer left in the rear.

So Old Abel could only use himself like a beast of burden, no, he's even less than a beast of burden now—you've never seen a beast working non-stop, 24 hours a day.

Hum!

The communication request from the Communication Crystal Ball sounded again.

Old Abel looked at the ceiling, not even wanting to glance at the Crystal Ball. But eventually, he did.

This was his duty.

And this glance instantly invigorated him.

He hurriedly connected to the communication, somewhat nervous as he asked, "Crown Throne, what are your orders?"

Richard's measured voice came from the Crystal Ball.

"You've been working hard recently; the school's issues must have worn you out."

"Not at all, not at all," Old Abel repeatedly denied, cold sweat seeping from his forehead, "These are just what I should do as a member of the school."

"Haha, we're old friends, there's no need for such pleasantries. Put aside the school's expansion for now, and here's an easy task for you, the Galaxy Mayfly and Physique School recently conducted a joint experiment. Take some young Wizards to check it out."

"Yes, Crown Throne."

The communication ended, and Old Abel, instead of slumping back into his chair, wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, feeling like he had just escaped from death.

While he didn't know the full details of the struggles at the top, based on some rumors, Richard had directly crushed two old Crown Thrones, forcing them to sign a Destiny Contract that was akin to a Slave Contract.

With such means, though Old Abel considered himself somewhat connected with Richard, he couldn't help feeling weak-kneed when facing Richard.

After thinking for a moment, Old Abel then dialed a communication number on the Crystal Ball.

"Is this Lord Abyss Dragon?"

"The Crown Throne asked me to take people to observe the joint experiment between the Physique School and Galaxy Mayfly... Oh, just a few new Wizards are needed, oh yes, Wizard Apprentices too. Yes, yes. The newer the better, the more elite the better, okay, okay, I will take people there right away."

The communication ended, and Old Abel immediately began contacting Wizards and mobilizing the latest batch of elite students from the academy.

Although Richard said it was an easy task, he definitely couldn't just handle it casually.

He may look a bit old, but his actual age is considered young among Great Wizards.

The flames of ambition still burn brightly in his heart.

And this internal conflict is an opportunity, a real chance for him to secure his position as the steward of the school.

...

Evolution Road Research Institute.

"Master, this is the latest bloodline."

In the laboratory, the wizard in a black robe handed a set of data to Ali. Ali took it and glanced at it casually, then immediately frowned.

"Why is it still like this? The strength of the mind link is so low, can't it be easily disrupted during battle by any mind interference from the opposite side?"

"Sir, this is already the limit we can achieve at the moment," the questioned wizard replied, "We have consulted Lord Lan from the Divine Palace Research Institute, but even he can't enhance the strength of the mind link.

According to him, we should focus on the wizard.

The individual size of the Galaxy Mayfly determines that we must make some compromises."

Ali nodded, gesturing for the wizard to leave.

"Encountered trouble?"

A sudden voice came from behind Ali, startling her into a combat stance instantly.

"Who!"

Upon seeing who it was, Ali's stiff body relaxed abruptly.

"Richard, why do you appear out of nowhere."

Richard shrugged helplessly: "That's your problem, the Dimension Gate I opened makes quite a disturbance, it's you who are too focused on your research."

With that, he looked at the report in Ali's hand.

"It seems that the bloodline transformation of the Galaxy Mayfly is not going very smoothly."

Ali rubbed her brow in some distress, complaining, "The problem you gave us—to define the mayfly as a support position—means the mayfly must remain small and highly mobile. Plus, you want to amplify the mayfly's original talent... these requirements sound like wishes."

Listening to Ali's complaints, Richard also felt a bit helpless.

"I can't exactly make the Galaxy Mayfly bigger to serve as a mount, can I? I have a covenant with the swarm. Besides, these requests aren't too much to ask.

You just need to optimize this bloodline a little."

"A little?" Ali's expression was extremely exaggerated, "Your little biological assistant, Lan, can't solve this problem, my dear, have you been away from physique evolution research for so long that you're an outsider now?"

"Uh... haven't you considered introducing external bloodlines?" Richard asked tentatively.

"The Galaxy Mayfly demands bloodline purity."

"Bloodline purity is a false proposition, even an outsider like me knows that."

"But that's their requirement."

"Now they've changed their requirement."

Upon hearing this, Ali punched Richard in frustration.

"You're here to cause trouble, aren't you?"

"No, no, no, I'm serious," Richard said earnestly, "Bloodline purity is a false proposition. Introducing fragments of life information from other bloodlines can only help the Galaxy Mayfly evolve.

Let me talk to the swarm... okay, it's solved, the swarm agreed."

Seeing Richard lightly solve her problem, Ali didn't feel relieved by the resolution but rather felt a sense of being outmatched.

This experiment has been ongoing for two months, and she's been stuck on this issue for a month.

But Richard solved it with a few words.

She muttered, "You're a governor, you're powerful, just change the requirements..."

To this, Richard could only say Ali was still too young.

The false proposition of bloodline purity was obviously brought up by the Swarm Dominator intentionally to prevent wizards from conveniently adding random things within the bloodlines.

And now, Richard's direct communication indicated that the wizard's technology couldn't solve this problem.

Naturally, the Swarm Dominator wouldn't stubbornly demand bloodline purity.

"Modify it according to this idea. Old Abel should have been working with you for a while. If it's successful, don't publicize it, first test it within the Miracle School to see the effect."

Ali stopped her muttering and nodded seriously, "Okay."

With the problem solved, Richard, who had rare leisure time, toured the Evolution Road Research Institute with Ali.

Although he could see all the reports from the institute, reports are written by people, and wizards are a bunch of crazy guys; falsifying reports for research isn't something out of the ordinary.

"The research on Abyss Wizards has initially yielded results; through mind fusion... Richard, Richard?"

Seeing Richard suddenly fall silent, Ali was a bit at a loss.

Is there a problem with the Abyss Wizards?

A moment later, Richard came back to his senses.

"What did you say? Abyss Wizards, right, just apply the technology on a small scale, don't expand it massively. The Abyss Civilization and Wizard Civilization should still be kept separate at this time."

"Hmm," Ali nodded slightly, then asked curiously, "Did something happen just now? Why did you suddenly zone out."

Richard smiled softly and said, "Nothing, just received some very strange news."

At the same time, Richard's body, far away in the Miracle Dimension, looked at the news from the Curse Demon Empire, frowning slightly.

"What do you mean a world has disappeared?"
