Chapter 499: Bad Things Always Happen (Part 3)
Uffie's face turned blank.
"I guess it's time."
Her eyes suddenly lost their sparkle.
"Zzzt—"
The communication tool failed again, and Uffie fell silent along with it.
Wesker picked up a stick from the ground and poked her, saying, "Wow, as hard as a sculpture."
"Nonsense, I'm all bones!"
Uffie grabbed the stick, snapped it in half, and hurriedly headed towards the Teleportation Gate.
"Where are you going?" Leon chased after her.
"What do you think? Can't let Dad see me like this!" She angrily scratched her head. "If he really shows up, just make up an excuse, say I'm either clearing Monsters, wandering around, or jumping into the sea to find a big pineapple, whatever you want!"
"Hiding isn't a solution, what if the mentor has a way—"
"Ugh, I really don't want to meet him!"
Uffie resolutely walked up to the Teleportation Gate, ready to enter, when suddenly a hunter's Big Axe swung towards her!
"Bang—"
She naturally dodged sideways, and the attacker who emerged from the Teleportation Gate was a local hunter from Savis!
The other party wore an unnatural grin, covered in blood, clearly showing he was a guy with mental instability due to excessive hunting. Recently, with the parasite crisis resolved, some local hunters relaxed their nerves, and their resistance to hunting addiction also decreased, leading to frequently seeing such lunatics go insane; usually, a good beating would suffice for recovery.
Uffie was already in a bad mood, and now with a punching bag coming her way, she naturally wouldn't pass on the opportunity.
With some howling noises, the insane hunter couldn't retaliate as Uffie continued to hit him, while Leon stood aside, gasping in awe, preventing the hunter from getting too seriously injured.
As the fight was about to end, Uffie unleashed her anger, automatically deactivating the Illusion Magic on her, revealing her intimidating true self, which could scare children at night, and flung the unconscious hunter to the nearby doctor, before heading towards Leon for a Happiness Egg to eat.
People kept a respectful distance from the scene, seemingly scared, but in reality, they were already used to it.
Leon naturally began rummaging through his pockets, searching his clothes like he couldn't find a weapon when facing Monsters.
In such a visually bewildering setting, an "unexpected visitor" arrived.
"Leon. What are you doing!"
The sudden shout had Leon, who was searching for a Happiness Egg, freeze momentarily, then look up incredulously, shouting:
"Gapar, mentor!?"
"I certainly didn't teach you to be so sluggish facing Monsters."
The visitor was none other than the tireless Sword Saint Japar!
After not seeing him for days, he still appeared energetic!
While he was scolding Leon, he drew back his raised foot... Wait, why retract the foot?
Leon's eyelid twitched, he hurriedly turned to look.
Uffie had vanished from the spot, while a nearby condemned building crumbled with a crash, as if hit by a shell.
"Oh no..." He couldn't help but cover his face.
Gapar had kicked Uffie away...
"That Monster looked pretty strong, but that's not an excuse for you to daze," Gapar seemed covered in dust, clearly having sprinted all the way here, with a hint of exhaustion on his face "Where's Uffie, I'll deal with the Monsters, you call her."
Then Gapar saw Leon tremblingly extend a finger, pointing in the direction of the humanoid Monster he had kicked away, bowing his head silently.
What does this mean?
Gapar rarely hesitated, he looked at Leon's gesture, recalling the familiar feeling of kicking the Monster earlier.
His expression suddenly froze, realizing what his disciple wanted to say.
On the other side, Uffie somberly jumped up, swiftly dashed into the Teleportation Gate with a "whoosh."
"No, Uffie, wait!"
