Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?

Chapter 499: Bad Things Always Happen (Part 2)

Before leaving the Royal Palace, Leon faintly heard Ainz III, who had unprecedentedly acquired several crates of Blood Collection Bottles, proudly instructing his attendant:

"Prepare for me the biggest, largest fireworks!"

Is he really planning to further boast to the Evil God?

Wait, there's a question, why doesn't Leon increase the number of people transporting supplies?

Because, for some reason, very few people can teleport from the Yanor Kingdom to Red, there seems to be some sort of selection criteria, and the most straightforward criterion appears to be strength.

Currently, those who can come from Yanor must at least meet the condition of being able to form a team strong enough to defeat Elderly...How many people can come over then?

But Leon felt that the selection standards seemed to have dropped recently, as people who can form a team to defeat the phantom of Pope Shalivan seemed to be able to come here too, evidenced by even Luluwo running over. She couldn't find Elsa and has been actively recording the first-hand strategies of Yarn these days.

In summary, although fewer people can come over from the Yanor Kingdom, there aren't many survivors in Savis City either. Gathering supplies from the Dungeon and adding the nightly Puppet Banquet makes it so that eating enough or even well isn't a problem. Currently, people just need to guard against wild beasts and Monsters invading the city, and slowly proceed with the reconstruction work.

Adventurers only need to fight Monsters. Survivors have more to consider.

"I'm heading out." After greeting Maru, Leon left Sain and returned to Savis City.

People had already dug open the basement where the Teleportation Gate was located, letting it bask in the sunlight, as there was no longer a need to worry by staying in the basement.

Once out of the Dungeon, he saw in the bustling crowd that Uffie was communicating something with Wesker of the Fran Guard.

Uffie seemed to have returned to normal, but it was actually an illusion magic cast on her, making her look normal for now. In reality, without the magic, she still appeared as the altered form by the Insect King, and she hadn't found a cure in Yarn yet.

Wesker was sent by Dal to help. His name sounded villainous, but he was actually a warm-hearted young man, carrying the magic tools used by the Fran Guard for communication. However, it seemed his communication tool was damaged in the battle at the Capital, working erratically and quite troublesome.

"The communication tool has been malfunctioning all day, damn it." Wesker shook his head and sighed.

Seeing Leon approach, Uffie, who had grown familiar with him over the past few days, directly said, "Fane's condition has improved lately."

"Awake now?"

"He wakes for a short while occasionally, then falls unconscious again. However, each time the period of consciousness slowly extends. Although his body still can't recover, that magician named Roger said Fane's body is slowly healing... Can you tell? I feel no difference at all."

"Roger is an expert in researching Monsters and is probably at a similar level for human studies," Leon nodded, "I believe his conclusion."

"Is that so? Then I trust him too."

Uffie shrugged and started talking about recent events in Savis City.

Unexpectedly, her father's newly accepted apprentices seemed quite decent, which she thought would be just to gain fame but clearly, she was mistaken, she thought to herself.

Her relationship with Gapar was a bit twisted, like a nagging woman. She didn't dislike Gapar, but to establish her independence and separate herself from her father in the public eye, as well as due to being pushed to learn the spear by Gapar when she was young, Uffie didn't know what attitude to use towards Gapar, so she simply chose to avoid meeting him altogether.

Thinking about Gapar, Uffie got a bit lost in thought and muttered to herself:

"Luckily, dad doesn't know what's going on here, can't make it in time."

"What did you say?" Leon didn't catch it.

"It's nothing, just grateful that certain things haven't happened," she casually responded.

The blond young man's face changed slightly, saying, "You don't know? You shouldn't speak such words aloud, saying them might lead to something happening, especially since you're using a spear!"

"Duuu—"

As soon as Leon finished speaking, an odd noise rang out. It turned out to be Wesker's communication tool going off. He was quite unique for not using a wolf howl as the incoming message alert.

Uffie's face stiffened, with a sense of foreboding that things wouldn't be so coincidental, would they?

"Hello, hello, is it Brother Dal? Finally got in touch with you!" Wesker exclaimed excitedly, "Everything here is fine, you don't need to worry!"

Only after Wesker finished speaking did Dal begin to talk, with a tinge of helplessness, acceptance, resignation, and a little anxiety, saying:

"I've run into Teacher Gapar."

"Ah!"

It was not Wesker shouting, but a bizarre cry from Uffie, drawing the curious glances of passing pedestrians towards her.

She didn't care about her image and hurriedly asked, "What's going on? How did he get here? Is he still in the Capital? Don't tell him I'm here!"

On Dal's side, silence suddenly prevailed, faint whispers from certain people could be heard.

"Hello? Can you still hear?" Uffie was frantic.

The communication tool became unstable again, but before failing, Dal's voice managed to come through.

"It's too late, Teacher was already on his way long ago."
