Chapter 500: The Old Man Shows You Around Sain
Leon felt like he was witnessing a grand proclamation among the Six Nations.
When he learned that Uffie was Gapar's daughter, it wasn't that he hadn't considered talking with her about Gapar.
However, Uffie showed little interest in the topic, often pretending not to hear, which reminded him of the rumors circulating about Gapar's conflict with his daughter...
Alas, as an outsider, he couldn't delve into such matters; not knowing the details, he couldn't persuade Uffie either.
If he were to give advice, what should he say? Good kids shouldn't argue with their dads?
Ugh!
Leon also considered telling Gapar about what happened here, but helplessly, he couldn't find a way to contact him or even determine if informing Gapar was a good idea.
Little did he expect that today, Gapar would come directly to him!
And stirred up such a debacle!
Watching Uffie run into the Sain Dungeon and Gapar ready to chase after her, Leon felt he had to say something, or else things might turn out badly.
"Teacher!" He shouted at Gapar, even using magic power to ensure no one else could hear clearly, "What she needs now isn't sympathy!"
Gapar paused for a moment, nodded at Leon, and then continued the chase.
"..."
Leon sighed, unsure if the message had gotten through.
Hopefully, things would turn out okay.
Inside the Sain Dungeon.
Gapar had just entered the dungeon when he was forced to watch footage that Leon and the others had already seen; despite his impatience, he couldn't find a skip button.
However, ever since the parasites were completely eradicated, a slight change appeared at the beginning of the Yarn Domain; the footage showed hardly any changes, but—
The blood therapy segment that everyone would experience at the start was gone.
He didn't care about blood therapy anyway; he was solely focused on finding his daughter. Struggling through the footage, he immediately jumped off the hospital bed and used his extraordinary perception to lock onto Uffie's high-speed movement within Yarn City.
Not having time to admire Yarn's scenery, he dashed out like a gale, while the Wolfman, typically lurking in Yusefka Clinic, failed to notice anything passing by and was slammed against the wall by wind pressure.
On the other side, realizing Gapar was rapidly pursuing her, Uffie couldn't help but click her tongue, concealing her aura as she raced towards a secluded narrow area.
I'm far more familiar with this city than he is; he'll never find me!
However, it seemed Uffie underestimated Gapar's current abilities.
Despite her best efforts to conceal her aura, Gapar was still able to lock onto her.
Within Yarn, she zigzagged through the streets, intentionally heading towards places filled with traps and monsters, including traps that had previously caught her off guard. Although they weren't likely to injure Gapar, they should at least slow him down, right?
However, impossibly not.
For reasons unknown, Gapar navigated through these traps at a speed far beyond Uffie's, as if he'd already figured out a strategy to handle the Sain System's traps, able to remain calm even when encountering them for the first time.
How do you seem even more familiar with this dungeon than I am! Uffie was about to lose her mind. She glanced back and saw Gapar's figure already at the corner of the street!
"Uffie!"
Listen, his voice was audible already; in just a few seconds, he would catch up.
"I don't need you to come over, I can handle it!" Uffie shouted back without turning her head, "I don't need your sympathy again!"
Gapar's graying brows furrowed; ever since he avenged himself by slaying the Demon King Bloodline, he hadn't looked this distraught. Any parent would feel anxiety upon seeing their child transform into an alien appearance, even the unrivaled Sword Saint.
He wanted to shout some sympathetic, comforting words to persuade his daughter to stop, but suddenly remembered Leon's words: "What she needs now isn't sympathy."
If not sympathy, then what does she need now?
Gapar felt he knew, having paid attention to his daughter's actions after avenging himself, with a vague guess from her movement patterns, though not entirely certain.
But now, even uncertainty had to be tried, otherwise the agitated Uffie couldn't be calmed, so Gapar shouted:
"Who's sympathizing with you? I'm here to issue a challenge!"
"Eh?"
Uffie's steps faltered, nearly stumbling to the ground. What did she just hear?
Gapar puffed out his cheeks in mock rage, shouting with an imposing air that made it seem like he'd whip out a feather-duster to teach a lesson.
"Do you know what outsiders have been calling me because of your recent good deeds?"
"What are they calling you?" Uffie asked instinctively, genuinely curious.
"Last time, a kid from Warrior Country pointed at me, asking if I was Uffie Big Sister's dad!"
Gapar, sounding like a cranky old man, deliberately exclaimed, "I worked hard for a lifetime to become the renowned Sword Saint in people's mouths, yet you turned me into 'Uffie's dad' in just a few years; the title lacks any grandeur!"
