NOVEL NEXT Chapter 553: Blood Fire Berserker State
"Come on Gong Yunru. Is that all you've got? If you are this weak, maybe we should break up," mocked Adam, knowing what would infuriate him even further.
"Argh! You bastard! I will destroy you," he roared as a tornado of flames appeared around him that caused powerful waves of extreme heat to spread throughout the arena.
Adam who was using his fire energy wasn't affected by it much, but if it wasn't for the barrier, those in the audience definitely would have been harmed by such heat if they didn't protect themselves with their energy.
The previous battles had been ones of skill and martial arts, just like they were expecting from the tournament, but who would have thought there would be such a powerful and wild participant.
Gong Yunru's was like a volcano that had just erupted and snapped, and observing how his body unleashed such great power upon being angered, Adam finally understood how his Fire Fury worked.
Rotating large amounts of fire energy within his dantian, he had an endless motor that would churn out heat and fire energy.
The angrier he got, the faster the energy would be rotated and the more energy would be released out of his body, since such large amounts of combustible energy would be dangerous to handle all at once.
It was like the Blood Berserker where Adam would burn his own blood to enter an enraged state where he had great power, but instead, he was churning out and burning his Fire Energy.
Just like the Blood Berserker, it couldn't consistently be used and it would also cause the body backlash that would need to be recovered from, but Adam would be able to control it, unlike Gong Yunru.
And he also had an idea of how he could fuse the Blood Berserker ability and the Fire Fury that he wanted to implement and test the limits of.
The Blood Fire Berserker State.
That's what he named it.
Being launched backwards, Adam tried to stabilise mid-air with his Fire Burst Movement and had impressed the onlookers with his control over his energy, but Gong Yunru didn't give him the chance to and fired a beam of fire energy towards him.
However, unlike what Gong Yunru and everyone that was watching were expecting, Adam didn't avoid the beam of fire and it was partly because he couldn't avoid it without using more power than that of a peak Advanced Cultivator.
But there was another reason.
Because he wanted to use the Blood Fire Berserker State.
Initially, he hadn't understood the Blood Berserker and had also not used it unless he had no other choice, after experiencing the excruciating pain that it caused him.
But now that he was faced with Gong Yunru and was interested in how such emotion-fuelled abilities worked, he had a much deeper understanding and was eager to see how much control he could retain in such a state.
Even if not complete mental and conscious control, as long as his instincts remained sharp and his Bloodlust was suppressed, it would be a great asset for him to be able to use.
He also needed to limit the backlash he endured, as with the Ethereal Recovery Skill, there was only so much of the backlash he would be able to recover from in a short period of time.
Testing it out for the first time, Adam wasn't really sure what to expect, and it was unheard of for one to mix a blood rage and fire rage ability, but the results surpassed all of his expectations.
Even while restricting his power to only that of a peak Advanced Cultivator, his aura exploded and his power even neared that of a Grandmaster Level Cultivator.
And yet, even though his mind became cloudy and his urge to battle and kill increased, with the help of the Mind Ring, he was mostly sane and in control.
It was as if the blood rage and fire rage were competing for dominance, and in the process greatly increasing his power and reducing the mental side-effects of their use.
If he achieved such great results while limiting his cultivation, what would his power be like if he used that with his full power.
Even Adam himself was impressed as he intercepted the extremely powerful fire beam with his bare hands that he coated with his flames that had become blood-red.
His eyes were engulfed in a red blaze, which made them even more frightening, and his aura had completely changed.
Baffled by how his power had risen so suddenly and how someone's body could handle such power, the skilled cultivators that were watching observed that, unlike Gong Yunru, Adam was mostly in control and wasn't suffering much damage.
It was incredible and unheard of.
What kind of skill possibly allowed someone to experience such a great jump in power?
And how could he switch between attributeless and fire energy instantaneously?!
Such questions ran through the minds of most, but none dared to blink as they engrossed themselves in the spectacle, interested to see how everything could unfold.
Seeing how powerful Adam had become and how easily he had blocked his attack, Gong Yunru became even more enraged as even more fire energy poured out of his body.
Bursting towards Adam, he launched a flurry of powerful attacks mid-air, but Adam dodged them all with ease and was much more agile and versed in aerial combat.
Just as Gong Yunru was about to fall back to the ground, Adam grabbed his wrist and flashed him a smile.
"It's my turn to show you the power of my flames."
Smashing him into the ground, Adam unleashed a burst of flames from his palms to propel himself down with great force, striking Gong Yunru with both his feet.
His attack had so much power behind it that Gong Yunru was embedded a metre into the ground and the entire arena began to crack and split apart, and yet it didn't do much to faze the flaming beast he was facing.
