Chapter 547: Arrested
Seeing how worried Su Lan was, Adam couldn't help but laugh.
"Why are you laughing? This is serious," she yelled, but he just continued laughing.
Reminding her that he had a blue amulet and that even if worst came to worst, if he wanted to get away from someone, he always could, it was hard to argue with that.
How was someone younger than her so capable?
"For now, let's just use the last two days we've got productively, and the start of the national tournament is going to be an interesting one," he said with a smile, not scared of anything in the slightest.
He needed to find his aunt and get stronger, and since she was most likely still in China, as there were no other traces of her, the Martial Arts Union was his best bet.
So, as long as he played his cards well, everything would work out in his favour.
Training in the remote area that Adam had brought her to, in a matter of two days, after the intense life or death battle she had engaged in, Su Lan improved by leaps and bounds.
Her progress was almost too great to be believable and even Adam was impressed as he wondered whether his friends could rival her, as he also focused on his own training and making sure his body was in its peak state.
Two days passed in the blink of an eye and it was finally time for the national Martial Arts Union Tournament to begin, and only those with special access could attend and observe.
The tournament was an event that all cultivators in the country and many around the world had their eyes on, and it was a place where the young talents internationally would congregate.
The yearly tournament for those under 25 allowed all cultivators that had the capability to showcase their talent, and Adam was interested to see what the greatest of his age group were capable of.
Although excited, he still wasn't expecting any of them to pose much of a threat to himself, and with all the trump cards he had, it was hard for anyone to take him down.
"Let's start making our way there," said Adam, as Su Lan tied up her long majestic hair.
"Sure, but please be careful. Even with that amulet..."
"We already spoke about this, just focus on yourself," he interrupted with a smile as they started making their way to the central branch of the Martial Arts Union.
The central branch of the Martial Arts Union was large enough to rival even the largest cities in the country, and was filled with all the most powerful cultivators in the country and even the world.
It was a place laden with opportunities, but also danger.
In the times of the nationals it is livelier than ever before and the national tournament, unlike the regional, usually takes place over a few days because of the sheer number of participants.
Arriving there within a few hours, Su Lan upon arriving was welcomed sincerely, but as soon as Adam was spotted, there was a large commotion.
"It's him! The Dark Horse Liao Wei! Capture him!"
It didn't take long for him to be surrounded by dozens of powerful cultivators that worked as guards for the Martial Arts Union and Adam wasn't confident he could beat them all in a battle even with his full power, but that wasn't what he was planning anyway.
Suddenly a well-kempt middle-aged man that was wearing an oriental outfit along with holding a fan appeared with incredible speed and he had a Wind Elemental Affinity.
He had an elegant presence and hanging from his belt was a blue amulet that Adam's eyes were immediately drawn to, as he smiled to himself.
Closing in around him, seeking to capture him, Adam just stood there beside Su Lan as he put his arms up and allowed the guards to grab him and drag him away, following the man that had just appeared.
Wanting to help Adam, unable to stop herself, she went to grab her blade, but Adam turned to her and shook his head.
Giving her a wink, he ushered her onwards as he allowed himself to be dragged away into Martial Arts Union by the dozens of guards that had surrounded him.
Attempting to use all sorts of sealing abilities to stop him from resisting or using his Internal Energy, Adam just smiled and was very nonchalant.
He was so calm it was unnerving for them, and considering that he had supposedly eliminated so many capable cultivators, he was dangerous and not to be taken lightly.
Cuffed with anti-energy handcuffs, he was quite widely recognised as he was taken into a part of the central branch of the Martial Arts Union that seemed to belong to the man with the blue amulet.
Memorising his way around the giant Martial Arts Union, Adam was impressed by how incredible it was and merged technology and the power of cultivation perfectly.
He also wasn't worried about things in the slightest and everything was happening like he wanted it to.
The guards began to secure the perimeter and only the elites continued to drag him as they threw him into a large fancy office that seemed to belong to the elegant man that wielded a fan.
"So... You are that Dark Horse Liao Wei that has caused such a giant ruckus and dared to kill so many cultivators of the Martial Arts Union unsparingly."
Adam didn't bother answering and just smiled, as he was suddenly punched in the stomach by one of the guards that felt as though he was being disrespectful to the elder.
He didn't flinch or seem affected by the punch in the slightest as he ignored the guard that was holding him down and yelling at him to be respectful.
"I assume you are an elder of the Martial Arts Union. Would it be possible for us to speak alone?" he asked directly.
The well-kempt man smiled slightly and couldn't hold back his curiosity as he ordered the guards to get off him and leave.
"But, sir. He could be a dangerous..." the guards attempted to refute.
"No buts. Leave immediately and I will decide whether he truly is guilty or not..."
