When Dragon Balls Descend Upon Marvel

Chapter 249: The Destroyer’s Expanding Power

Coulson turned to Sitwell and ordered,

"Get in the car. Follow that big guy — I want to see what exactly it's here to do."

The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents quickly got into their vehicles. Once seated, Coulson immediately called Nick Fury to report the situation. Sitwell, seated beside him, couldn't inform Alexander Pierce of this special development in time, so he could only wait and watch.

At that moment, under Loki's command, the Destroyer marched toward Thor's location, occasionally firing beams to destroy cars and houses blocking its way — even aiming at a nearby gas station.

Seeing this, Smith Dole frowned. Was the plan to blow up the whole town?

What kind of ridiculous "trial" for Thor was this? He had no intention of waiting any longer. With a burst of speed, he charged straight at the Destroyer.

Boom!

Smith threw a powerful punch, slamming into the Destroyer and forcing it back several steps, halting its beam attack.

Seated on Asgard's throne, Loki frowned upon seeing an unfamiliar human block the Destroyer's path.

"Crush that insect!" he commanded.

The Destroyer's body flared with red light, unleashing a massive beam straight at Smith.

With lightning speed, Smith dodged. The beam gouged a deep trench into the earth.

He closed in and threw a punch, but the Destroyer, still mid-attack, counterpunched.

Boom!

The impact created a deafening sonic boom, shattering windows along the street.

From a speeding car behind them, Coulson quickly put on the second-generation power level detector and locked onto Smith.

"Let's see just how strong you are."

Sitwell, equally curious, watched closely — after all, no one on Earth wasn't curious about Smith's true strength.

"150… 200… 280… 300… 440… 500—" Boom!

The device exploded, snapping in half and falling apart.

"What happened? Malfunction?" Sitwell asked.

Coulson's face was grim.

"Smith Dole's power level exceeds 500."

Sitwell was stunned.

"God… how is that even possible?"

Meanwhile, Thor and his companions also saw Smith battling the Destroyer. They were astonished that a mortal from Midgard could stop it.

Sif murmured,

"I didn't know Midgard had such a powerful man."

Hogun nodded.

"Even I wouldn't dare take the Destroyer head-on."

Thor frowned.

"Who is he?"

Darcy peered through her binoculars.

"It's God. We're saved!"

Hearing that, Jane Foster and Dr. Erik Selvig both let out a sigh of relief.

Thor nodded in acknowledgment.

"He is strong."

Darcy grinned with excitement.

"He's the strongest human on Earth — we call him the God among men, like a Superman walking out of the comics."

The Asgardians exchanged shocked looks. Sif spoke firmly,

"The Destroyer is after Thor. Let's go help him."

They nodded in agreement and charged toward the fight.

Odin, still pretending to sleep, watched from afar. He was pleased to see Thor evacuating civilians, but deeply disappointed in how Loki was using the Destroyer. This armor, forged with the combined power of gods across the universe to rival the Celestials, was being stopped by a single mortal from Midgard.

Secretly, Odin unlocked more of the Destroyer's power. Suddenly, the opponent Smith had been holding back with ease surged in strength, smashing him into a nearby house.

Seeing this, Sif circled behind the Destroyer. Spotting Smith knocked away, she leapt from a rooftop, spear aimed to pierce the armor.

Clang!

The enhanced Destroyer's plating easily stopped her attack, flinging her backward and knocking her weapon from her hands.

Hogun and Volstagg then grabbed Fandral and hurled him toward the enemy.

"For Asgard!" Fandral roared, swinging his massive axe down.

The Destroyer's answer was a single backhand slap.

Smack!

Fandral flew back even faster than he came, crashing into a car and caving in its hood.

Sif and Fandral's assault had failed completely. Hogun and Volstagg exchanged worried glances — this was the Destroyer without anyone wearing it, and it was still terrifying.

Fandral struggled to his feet. Seeing God fight it earlier, he had assumed the armor's strength was limited without a wearer — but that was clearly wrong.

Thor, watching his friends fall one after another, prepared to approach the Destroyer himself, intending to speak with his brother.

But before he could, the rubble from the collapsed villa suddenly exploded outward.

A terrifying aura erupted from the debris, darkening the skies.

Boom!

Smith emerged, white ki surging around him, and in the next instant, he shot forward at twenty times the speed of sound.

Bam!

He appeared before the Destroyer and slammed a punch into its head, twisting it and denting its faceplate.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

With his full power unleashed, Smith unleashed a flurry of blows, forcing the Destroyer to stagger backward again and again. Sonic booms filled the air, and every window in the vicinity shattered.

Now aiming for the Destroyer's neck, Smith thought, Thor broke it with one hammer — no way I can't do the same.
