Chapter 541: The Wives' Anger
Chi Qiu, who had been sitting next to me, had a rather abrupt change in her position. She now sat in my lap princess style, with her arms around my neck and interlocking her fingers. And gave Luo Ting He a deadly stare, pointing her with her foot.
"How dare you say such a thing!" Chi Qiu stated in a tone clearly displaying how angry she was. There was even the image of a phoenix shining behind her as if she was about to transform and fight. "Having my Husband's children is meant for my sisters and I. Not for you! We didn't agree to wait so long just to have another woman take the pleasure away from us." She continued, as her phoenix image screeched ready to fight. She was completely unbothered by the difference in realm.
Luo Ting He was taken aback by the explosive outburst. Not to mention the sight of such a beautiful face having turned to one of pure fury. Su Yan let out a giggle seeing how well her daughter in law just responded.
"I…" Luo Ting He muttered, knowing that if a fight broke out I'd clearly be assisting my wife. Such a force is not to be toyed with. She knew this instinctively but lacked the words to explain herself.
"Chi Qiu, my love." I said, holding her close to my body.
"Oh, Husband, what is it?" Chi Qiu asked, turning to face me. Her face had no visual expression of anger when looking at me. I gave her a passionately loving kiss for a few breaths. "Husband, what brought this on, you don't kiss like that unless we are about to…" She blushed with a ton of excitement, if she had a tail it would be moving around uncontrollably.
"We'll do that soon… No need to mention it here. I'm just glad you defended your sisters and yourself so boldly. It made me quite happy to see just how much you love me." I said, giving her another kiss. "That said, I'm not going to accept her request. It was never a considered possibility." I added, letting Chi Qiu's head rest against my chest.
"I know, but… Just mentioning such a thing is enough to insult all of us. Though, I suppose Father has a way he could make it happen eventually." Chi Qiu said, nuzzling into my chest, looking up at me with her glistening eyes.
"That's true. But I doubt my father would be that hard pressed to find suitable individuals to fill that position. Besides, with Senior Luo…" I said, taking a glance at Luo Ting He. "She doesn't make the cut for our previously set rules. And furthermore, her cultivation would be forfeit the moment a man that isn't her first love does anything like that to her." I explained. "Which makes me curious why she would even risk that in the first place." I continued, holding my wife in such a way Su Yan gave Yang Kai the look to hold her the same way.
After a few moments of rearranging themselves, Yang Xingjuan, my baby sister, was wrapped up in Su Yan's arms, while she was wrapped in Yang Kai's. I let out a few chuckles as they changed themselves around to get more comfortable.
"Now then, Senior Luo, I'm going to say that your suggestion is rejected. I will not be changing my mind on this matter. That said, please explain your reasoning so that all may understand." I said with a firm position.
"Uh, Yes, I… I got wind of the promise made among your wives. Waiting, until you're all High rank open heaven realm or equivalents before trying for offspring." Luo Ting He started, squirming nervously, as she then realized what I meant by everyone. "I figured that if there was no guarantee that you'd be able to… I thought it might be best to leave behind a blood descendant… And you seemed close enough to my former lover…" She continued, pausing every so often.
"Hmm, so you see me as a convenient replacement for him." I said, rather bluntly as I sipped my tea and shared my cup with Chi Qiu, who happily drank away.
"No, that's not it…" Luo Ting He tried to protest.
"Senior Luo, don't insult me by denying it. You used the argument of no guarantee. Yet you don't understand the real reason my wives made that promise among themselves. And now, that I'm open heaven, it's a promise they can't go back on. Carrying my child would be a death sentence for those not strong enough. Even if you were able to maintain your cultivation. You wouldn't be able to handle it. Even if you were a 9th rank it might not be possible, now that I think of it…" I explained.
"Then… If I may ask, how do your wives plan on carrying such a death sentence to term?" Luo Ting He ignorantly asked another question she couldn't handle the answer too.
I sighed, and looked around. Teleporting a 4th rank open heaven to me. "Do you want a reward directly from me?" I asked.
"SIR This disciple is willing to do anything you wish!" She said with vigor.
"Good, I want you to spar with my first wife Huo Lei. She is currently still in the Emperor Realm. Give her a good fight nonetheless." I said.
Hou Lei smirked knowing exactly what I had planned. "Husband, I can really go all out?" She asked, with a big smile like a weight had finally been lifted.
"Yes, if this 4th rank suffers any injuries I'll make sure to compensate them for it. And remember this is to show why you're able to do what Senior Luo can not." I answered, reassuringly.
"Don't worry husband, I'll make sure to prove her insults to be nothing more than that, insults." Huo Lei smiled, and then sneered at Luo Ting He briefly. "Senior Sister, don't hold it against me. It's not you I'm angry at." She continued, with a respectful salute to the 4th rank open heaven.
"Don't mention it, it's an honor just to be of service to the Divine Monarch. I must admit, I'm a little jealous of you. So please forgive me if that comes out in the match. I don't harbor any ill will towards you." The 4th rank answered back in a positive tone.
