NOVEL NEXT Chapter 542: Outburst
With the pleasantries out of the way the two women began. Huo Lei let out a fierce howl as her tails extended into 9 whips. In the space between she generated her own lightning arching back and forth creating an endless net, not even a tiny bug could squeeze through. It was clear her Monster Qi was generating this effect.
It was quite the surprise to some though. Why? Because Huo Lei was clearly still a Monster King and an Emperor Realm. The sheer force of her power shouldn't be much more than peak Monster King. Yet, she was releasing power clearly on par with the high end of a 3rd order Open Heaven, to a low 4th rank. It wasn't exactly stable, but it was undeniably there.
In response to this the 4th rank as Huo Lei's opponent instantly got serious. "Now I know why His Divine Majesty said this was worthy of a reward. You are indeed a worthy opponent." She said as a bead of sweat dripped.
The 4th rank open heaven activated her own secret abilities to press her aura and created a miniature Dharmachakra behind herself, it represented her dao. This was one of the most neutral matchups she had. Her dao was that of Gold. Thus making her capable of manipulating, of changing lightning's direction to some degree.
"I see, so that's why you wanted her to fight. Not a bad idea Son. A surprising few Know that the Gold Dao is really just part of the Metal Daos. So it's fair to say she might be able to mitigate the lightning to some degree." Yang Kai noted as he smirked. "And my Daughter-inlaw has grown considerably since we left the ink battlefield." He chuckled.
"Indeed, I wanted to give her an opponent that would be difficult to deal with, while also being a fair fight. Fortunately it was a lot easier now than it could have been." I said, sipping my from my cup only to find the tea had been finished and I had a rather bashful looking wife beating her eyes at me. "I see, you really like that tea…" I smiled, willing the pot to fill my cup once more and then getting my sip again.
"Did you know your wife was this strong from the beginning?" Luo Ting He asked, still a little shocked by the results thus far.
"Of course I did. I'm not so blind as to not see how strong they actually are. What you are witnessing now is that boldness on full display for everyone to see. She isn't keeping herself restricted to a singular cultivation path. Instead she is embracing her monster side as well as managing the human side of things as well." I answered, half baffled by the question. "You… You aren't asking these questions for yourself are you? There's no way you could possibly be that shortsighted, right?" I asked, slightly ticked.
"I don't care if she is or isn't. Such questions are beyond rude. They are completely uncalled for." Chi Qiu grumbled, calming down again once I gave her a light embracing squeeze.
"I do apologize… I wasn't going to ask any of these questions aside from the one about training the giant spirit gods. And then I got carried away. However, I have two more questions while those two are sparing." Luo Ting He answered me worried about what might come next.
"Well, you've already asked several stupid questions thus far, I find it hard to believe you could come up with dumber ones. At least… Certainly none that are your own. Isn't that right, you bunch of supposed 8th ranks." I finished off with a shout down to the gathering of 8th ranks that were secretly sending messages.
"Yeah… This one is definitely not from me, I even question if I should even ask it…" Luo Ting He said, taking a deep breath. "Will your wives reach the same strength as yourself?" She asked.
"Pfft… Hahaha! Husband, she thinks we'll be as strong as you. That's rich!" Chi Qiu laughed, kicking her legs as she did so. "Listen, My Husband is already leagues beyond my Grandmother the Phoenix Empress. I may one day reach a power above the Divine Phoenix Realm but by that time my husband would have surely achieved an even higher power. Perhaps even the World Creation Realm." She continued, with a smug smirk.
"Hey now, reaching that realm would be quite difficult. I hardly think that is possible even for me. Besides, my cultivation path is a bit different from the usual path. If anything it will be a realm with similar powers afforded to me. But that's besides the point." I corrected, making sure it was known I don't have experience on the same path. Something that should be clearly obvious by now. Yang Kai and Smiles both noticed it. Su Yan noticed as well, though only because of our connection.
"I see." Luo Ting He giggled nervously. "Then, I guess my next question… And I stress this is one I'd wish I wasn't the messenger for." She continued, even more nervous. "Your wives won't achieve the same strength… How about your sister here…" Luo Ting He stopped talking when she saw my fist about to punch her face in.
"Who, asked, that, question?" I asked fuming with an intensity rivaling a thousand battles. "You don't get to laugh that one off." I stated in a cold tone. "I will not push my failures upon my baby sister. Your words insult me." I finished, finally calming back down.
"I can promise this, that was not a question I came up with. It was actually a rather timid 6th rank… But the others really wanted an answer…" Luo Ting He gulped, as the life she lived had flashed before her eyes in an instant.
The sparring match had been interrupted as a result of the explosive force of my outburst. Though I did make sure my baby sister, Yang Xingjuan remained unharmed by my intense aura.
"Sorry you two, your mock battle is over. State your reward." I said with my now soured mood.
"Divine Monarch Sir, I'd like to have the same reward as Mistress Huo." The 4th rank asked.
"Senior Sister, I don't think you should test my Husband at this time." Huo Lei tried to say.
"Huh, oh… Then let me rephrase that. I heard that the pills made by your majesty are perfect. I was hoping I could have a matching set." The 4th rank quickly changed her request.
