Wang An Leiji (Yang Leiji) (What If I Was In Martial Peak)

Chapter 539: Yang Kai Returned

With the look of Susan's face being the way it was… I couldn't possibly refuse to answer the question, but I also couldn't answer it either. Both options were bad. Even so, She was my mother and thus I had no choice but to tell her.

"It is dangerous, however, for me this won't be difficult. Rather I get the feeling it's a very important thing for me to do. And if nothing else, they should provide some safe spots for the people should my own original defenses fail in any way." I explained, as best I could too. Unfortunately, a mother is damn near impossible to hide anything from, I could tell she noticed something was a little off.

"Well, if that's how you feel. I won't stop you, after all I don't know the pressure on your shoulders. All I know is that looking around here I see all of these people growing stronger and yet you still seem ill at ease." Su Yan replied. "That and I can sense it directly from you my son. Please don't do anything rash…" She added.

"Mother, I understand you're worried. However, as it stands now… There isn't anyone alive that can deal with this threat…" I replied, wanting to say more… But I held my tongue.

This reaction from me was an entirely different view. From Su Yan's perspective, I had always been confident that it would be possible for me to pull off defeating Ink. And now she saw me questioning the chances. She was worried and wanted to say something to console me but, she couldn't find the words and instead used the link we shared to show her feelings. I smiled a rough smile in response.

"Mother, even if I somehow fail… I'll make sure that Ink can't harm anyone for a while. Sealing him away…" I said, shaking at a frequency only Su Yan had the intuition to notice.

"I wish I could… No, I won't say that…" Su Yan said, opting to refrain from negative emotions.

At this time Yang Kai had returned and wrapped his arm around Su Yan, mimicking how I act with my wives. It seemed like he was far more comfortable with acting lovey dovey in public now. Likely a result of my influence. This is a good thing, it will ensure the public begins doing the same.

"Welcome back, Father." I said, with a respectful smile and wushi salute. "I thought you'd be a little longer than that, I guess those that remained Were simply pushovers." I chuckled.

"Well, in a way they were… Unfortunately, I had to kill a lot of their 7th ranks." Yang Kai replied with a bit of disappointment. "Some of them even dared to force my hand at wasting precious crystals to purify them, only to then have to kill them. It wasn't until my disciples began obliterating the 7th ranks in spades." He added.

"Don't be too disheartened… I couldn't blame you either way. And honestly, I'd much rather kill them now, instead of having incompetent allies. There's not enough kindness in my heart to be so accepting. Not after all I've offered up thus far." I said in a halfway serious measure.

"Hahaha, fear incompetent allies over competent enemies." Yang Kai laughed. "I don't think anyone could blame you for that. I know I certainly don't blame you for thinking that way. Now… About my spear over there, you figured something out didn't you?" He added, proudly patting my head.

"I did, there was a vast void within it. I'm currently filling it with a mix of pure energy and some of my own lightning. Once it's filled, you shouldn't have any issues dealing with a couple of Royal Lord's at a time. Perhaps even a bit more." I answered.

"Hmm, there isn't more to it than that is there?" Yang Kai asked, sensing that there was clearly something more to be said.

"It's really hard for me to hide anything from the two of you." I sighed, fixing my hair again. "But you're right, Father. If you ever find a moment where your current strength isn't enough… Absorb your spear in its entirety, you'll be able to directly promote to the 9th rank and the divine dragon realms. While it's definitely a possible thing… It will likely have some sort of issue. so don't use it unless absolutely needed. No matter what happens, it must be a matter of extreme severity. I trust that you understand my meaning, Father." I explained, making sure to avoid the same explanation I gave to the Azure Dragon Emperor.

Yang Kai seemed to understand, his face looked a little less cheerful. "I see. Try not to put me in a position where I must use it then." He said, forcing a chuckle.

And with that finished being said, Yang Kai and I came to a mutual understanding. One that even Su Yan had a difficult time seeing through, though she clearly had her suspicions. And a familiar individual came flying over quickly.

"Martial Nephew, give me a straight answer… During your fight with the giant spirit gods, you were training them weren't you?" Luo Ting He asked, her breathing was still unsteady.

"I did warn you and the other 8th ranks not to watch longer than they could handle." I said. "So ask yourself, what is the one thing you're clearly not strong enough to understand? Once you've got your answer, you'll have answered the one you've asked of me." I added with a smirk.

"I said a straight answer." Luo Ting He grumpy pouted, crossing her arms in a rare moment of childish behavior.

"What is straighter than a line?" I asked.

"I don't know? A dot or a point?" Luo Ting He answered.

I gestured with my hand, pointing directly at Luo Ting He. "My finger is straight yet all you see is the tip. In other words, a point. So where should the answer come from?" I said, chuckling a little to myself. "If you truly wanted a straight answer, you'd best answer my question. Or you may rephrase your own. Either way if you've been paying attention the answer you desire should already be known. My father has already figured it out and he wasn't even here for the fight." I continued explaining.
