Void Cultivation

Chapter 97- Legendary Phoenix (3)

The loud bang rang out, Grey felt his spirit sea suddenly increase by several feet. The Celestial Qi in his spirit sea nourished his body and Grey could feel his strength increasing as well. But the increase was too overly impressive, as Qi accumulation was just a body building realm for cultivators.

The moment he would become a real cultivator on the path of divinity to challenge God was when he entered Foundation establishment. From that day, the world and God would recognize him as a challenger.

And there will be constants threats coming to him. As soon as Grey broke through, the phenomenon of the purple moon or the purple lines did not appear on his body.

"It seems like the occurrence when the purple moon would appear is quite substantial! It didn't happen while I was breaking through to the eight level, so I think it only happens when one is about to break through to a major level."

"Those levels are the Fourth level of Qi accumulation, the Seventh level of Qi accumulation, and possibly the Perfected level of Qi accumulation. But that doesn't mean the other levels are useless, it just means that breaking through to those particular levels are a lot tougher than the others."

"But each time you have broken through those pivotal levels, cultivating the next levels will be a lot harder. It's like there would be a huge chasm that could only be filled by spirit energy. If not for the fact that Celestial Qi is more filled with pure energy and is at a higher level at than normal spirit energy, I estimate another four months before I would be able to break through to just the eight level of Qi accumulation." After saying this, Grey paused to sigh.

"Now I see why Caster, Luo, Zuro and the others were stuck at their subsequent levels for a very long time. It's not that they were not built for cultivating, it's just that they are too many restrictions."

"And with the addition of Corrosive substance, which makes cultivating ten times harder and more dangerous, it's no wonder why many go and become disciples at sects or enter academies! The strain is just too much!" Grey lamented with a low voice before he sighed.

The Phoenix just stood, looking at him with a confused expression on a piece of burnt charred wood.

With it saw Grey sigh one last time before he fell silent, it quietly flew and landed on his shoulder. To the legendary Phoenix, breaking through a single level of Qi accumulation was nothing.

It could achieve that just by taking a quick nap! But it felt something different about this human. For one, his eyes were now filled with profoundness! Despite his features being blurred by the mysterious cloak, it could sense that his eyes had become more calm and calculative. Detached even!

But it didn't mind or care about the changes in Grey. As a creature which was known to be able to reincarnate infinitely, and still regained most of it's previous memories, it was very proud and would not show concern or worry towards something as trivial as Grey.

Grey who was drifting into thought, suddenly felt that the red bird before him had said something about him. But since the Phoenix couldn't talk,-yet at least, he couldn't pry and would not anyways.

'It's just a bird brain anyways. Which reminds me, I have to give it a name! I don't know if its a male or female, neither do I have a means to confirm, so I'll hold off the naming for now until I can come up with a good name and determine which gender it is.'

Soon, Grey was standing on the bowsprit of his magic ship which illustrated a half naked woman pointing onwards with her index finger.

Her features were beautiful yet ugly, enchanting and yet revolting! Grey felt himself falling in love with her, and yet nearly puking whenever he saw her. He had long concluded that the illustrated woman on his bowsprit was probably a bizarre existence that looked human.

And the last owner of this magic ship, fell in love and carved her figure into this bowsprit.

'Maybe he doesn't know its a bizarre existence, but maybe he did, and still doesn't care.'

Grey had also noticed that coincidentally, her index finger, which was pointing onwards, was also the launching point for the divine energy attack for the magic ship.

But he didn't know whether it meant something or not and could not come to a conclusion. As Grey stood on the bowsprit, he disregarded every other thought and focused on one.

How to get to the everlasting continent above?

Grey had explored most of the boundless river. At least he thought he had. But he noticed that the sea creatures he normally found were either extremely strong, like the shark that first tried to attack him, or were too weak.

Calculating the amount of time he had been here, he estimated he had been in this pocket dimension for close to one month. And since it didn't feel like he would be expelled anytime soon, he thought, 'hey, why not explore the everlasting continent instead? There could be all those magic treasures the Nascent Soup Transformation expert talked about.'

"Do you know how to head up there?" Grey nocked his head upwards and said to the Phoenix that was sitting comfortable on his shoulder.

The red Phoenix stared at him for a few seconds before flying upwards for a few frets and coming back down to sit on his shoulder. Not even caring to explain further.

"Does that mean that I can just fly up there without any restrictions?" Grey said with a frown when he remembered the scene of the flying eagle like creature that patrolled the skies, and its female rider that radiated divinity.

"Just because I saw them flying in the sky once, doesn't mean that they will always be flying in the sky. It might just be a one time thing!"

After steeling his resolve, Grey put away his magic ship and stuck several flying talismans into his body. After that, he took to the skies...
