Void Cultivation

Chapter 109- Nascent Soul Transformation expert

'Damn! I'm outnumbered.' Grey complained internally when he saw that things weren't letting up. In fact, he began to regret ever meeting that chubby cultivator.

But if actions could be taken back, the world wouldn't be in the state it was.

'BOOOOM'

There was another loud boom and Grey already knew it was the chubby cultivator's doing. After the loud boom, there was also a blood curdling cry that drilled fear into everyone's hearts.

The expression on everyone's faces became even tighter, and their anger towards Grey soared.

'I'm not even doing anything...' At this point, Grey didn't know whether to laugh or cry. But when another spirit attack was launched at him, he punched out and his fists produced an air cannon that destroyed the incoming spirit energy attack.

At this time, many cultivators had long died. Their storage bags looted from them and their magic ships either stolen, or blown up to shreds.

The entire Dead sea was in chaos. Despite the fight not going on for any longer than a few minutes, the destruction and death was so much that it dyed the dark, murky waters slightly crimson.

As Grey launched another Air cannon punch, the surrounding boats around him cleared and he could see a familiar slender ship in sight. On board it was a very slender and lithe young lady.

She met Grey's gaze with hers as their eyeballs locked. Grey thought about looking away to protect his rear from any attacks when the slender girl looked away before him and slashed a long sword that was in he grasps down.

Grey saw a white line appear in the horizon as a magic ship was cut in two. The sailor on it was also cut into two. His expression was frozen in disbelief. As if he could not begin to comprehend how he died.

After the cultivator on board was cut in two, the slender ship thrust forward and directly smashed the divided ship into two halves that sank into the water.

The slender girl's magic ship came to rest some distance away from Grey's. But from distance, Grey could see her features clearly.

She had dark hair and eyes. Her expression was filled with gloom as if she woke up on the wrong side of bed. Her dark hair was long and reached the back of her shoulders. Her facial features were soft and almost childish, yet firm and mature. Obvious signs was inching closer towards youth. But her eyes held pools of gloom and nonchalance so deep that you could almost feel despair coming from them.

Compared to Grey's immaturish face, hers was filled with the presence of youth and life. If not for her somewhat gloomy demeanor, she could be said to be very pretty.

Grey recognized her immediately due to her familiar slender build. Now that he thought about it, he noticed that she lacked any major muscles in places where they should have been.

Also, her behavior at times were very strange. But Grey's mind did not think that 'she' could be a female. The thought never crossed him at all.

After noticing that Grey recognized her, she gave a short nod in the form of a greeting and turned her attention to the surrounding cultivators. Her expression turned even more gloomy.

"Why must you cause trouble like this?" Her voice was charming and sonorous, but sounded a little gloomy despite her not putting any effort to hide her emotions.

Grey noticed that her gaze was brought back to him, and she was looking at him with a strange expression.

Noticing the change in her voice, Grey realized that the disguised she donned on earlier must've have an effect on her voice too. Making her sound masculine.

But before he had the time reply, he quickly brought out a talisman that exuded a green light which immediately enveloped his magic ship.

The waters underneath his magic ship stirred and surged before it suddenly erupted. Grey's magic ship was launched several feet into the sky by a pillar of water.

But Grey stretched out his hand and clapped once. He then uttered a single word slowly.

"Ice."

The pillar of black sea water suddenly turned into a pillar of black ice. Grey's magic ship was then held upright in the air, under the frozen pillar of ice.

But cracking sounds soon rang out. Noticing that the pillar of ice was close to breaking, Grey began to create hand seals which transformed into a hexagram of pale yellowish lines.

The hexagram then fell on the broken ship deck of the magic ship and suddenly, while the magic ship was in the process of falling and crashing loudly on the water, a strong gust of wind suddenly pushed it forward until it glided for a few feet before touching down on the surface of the water, over ten meters away from where the pillar of water erupted.

Now, Grey's magic ship was close to the slender girl's magic ship that they were almost side by side. Of course, Grey's eyes were occupied on watching the surroundings, so he didn't notice the slender girl take out a flute to blow on it.

A sharp sorrowful cry from the flute rang out and everyone who could hear it suddenly froze up for a few seconds. Grey included.

But Grey did not think much about the matter and instantly instigated the purple crystal to release one of the seals it had over the Divine flames in his spirit sea.

Awaken by the burning agony of having his spirit sea burnt to a crisp, Grey woke up from this frozen statee quicker than everyone else.

The slender girl was not expecting it, but fortunately for Grey, her main targert for blowing the flute had not been him, but the chubby cultivator who had appeared at some point on the deck of her magic ship.

His palms were just about to touch the surface of the deck when he had been frozen up with the sound from the flute.

"Seven." The slender girl said.

'Seven seconds before they all return back to normal.' Grey quickly interpreted the meaning behind her words and pieced them into information which he could use.

So Grey's body on his magic ship suddenly swayed. And he appeared some feet away from the chubby cultivator. Without any hesitation, Grey raised his arm in a ready motion to slash down.

But when he realized what he wanted to do, he quickly stopped himself from completing those actions and instead clapped his hands once and said a single word.

"Ice."

The area around the chubby cultivator instantly turned cold and so freezing, that the chubby cultivator would have shuddered if his body wasn't currently frozen.

Seeing that happened, Grey counted three seconds left and punched is strongest 'Air Cannon' yet.

There was a loud sound like thunder, and the chubby cultivator was blasted away from the magic ship. His chest had caved in that almost all his internal organs were vaporized.

But seeing him still alive, Grey nearly ran off to finish him. But remembering he had left that two seconds left, he looked at the slender girl, ready to jump off her magic ship and escape.

As if reading his thoughts, the slender girl shook her head. She then did a very quick hand seal that Grey could not catch.

Then, her magic ship suddenly accelerated and tore through the waters at a fast speed. Just as the seven second mark was over, the slender magic ship turned into a stream of light that rapidly disappeared into the distance.

***

Right now, Grey was standing before the slender girl as she steered the magic ship that was like a stream of light.

Her gaze moved from the black sea beyond her, to Grey. Her gaze was silent and piercing, just like whenever Grey used Dragon eyes.

"What?" He let out a slight growl. The slender girl took her gaze away from him without any change in expression. Her current emotions could not be determined by Grey, but her gloomy demeanor remained.

"What did you do to invite everyone's wrath?" She asked without giving Grey a glance.

"I didn't do anything." Grey replied and she nodded with a look of understanding. The silence between them grew awkward.

"Why did you help me?" Grey asked after a long period of silence. Since his expression could not be seen because of the mysterious cloak, she had a hard time deciphering his thoughts.

So instead of answering the question, she said something else totally unrelated. "That Nascent Soul expert that came before was just a clone. It probably borrowed a treasure from the original body to pressure all the cultivators. But although it was a clone, it's power should still be more than enough to pressurize everyone below the Core formation realm. Which means that the original body must be in a very weak state... Something must've happened over the past two months we were in the Pocket dimension. " She stopped then to look at Grey.

Grey's face hidden by the mysterious cloak changed into a frown as he reasoned her words.

'If the Nascent Soul expert that came before was really just a clone, what must've happened during the time we were in the Small world?'

"So what are you suggesting we do? How will that information benefit us at all?" Although Grey was more or less familiar with the slender youth, the energy fluctuations coming from her was enough to strike fear into his heart.

'Foundation Establishment...'

Although she tried to hide it, after Grey began to cultivate both spirit energy and Cold yin energy, he could more or less feel powerful energy being passively emitted by her. Unless she found an artifact that was capable of hiding her true realm, she would not be able to hide it from someone like Grey.

Hearing him speak, the slender girl gave a soft smile. She then said lowly. "Nothing much, it's simple really, we'll just plunder from the Nascent Soul Transformation cultivator!"
