"I suppose you also have a stronger will than I do. I once was in love with that woman, with that monster…" he sighed. "I had become enthralled by her passion. I suppose that never being loved before made me vulnerable. You, in the other case, have found love elsewhere."
"You don't love her anymore?" I asked.
"I don't think I feel the same way anymore. I was younger, reckless, and stupid back then," he sighed. "I was enthralled by adrenaline and drinking the blood of billions of people in the plants I conquered… I did anything for power."
"I see…" I nodded. "Better that way, you should never have such relationships with Outer Gods, Avarice."
"Hah! I know, she toyed with me and then threw me away, sealing me in my own artifact for eons, until you appeared and she finally put me to use…" he said. "You've given me a new chance, Asmodeus. And between you and me, I am more loyal to you than to her now."
"Good to know," I nodded. "Here we are."
We reached the Summoner Temple, and entered in a hurry, walking towards the statues of the Summoners. Now that I have plenty of resources and Spirit Orbs, I should max those Statues and get all their bonuses right away.
"Welcome, Blake. I've been waiting for you since your Rank Up… Your power as a Summoner has only risen tremendously since the last time we met."
A woman made of white light greeted me, making Avarice groan as he stepped back, the light didn't burn him, but he still had a small reaction to it, he'll get used to it.
"Who is this woman, my descendant?" he asked. "She shines too brightly! Is she a spawn of God?! An archangel? Only those blasted fiends of light shine this brightly!"
"No, she's the embodiment of the Summoner Class and the Divinity that they carry," I explained to Avarice. "Summoner is a special class that has been passed through several users before."
"Is that so? How interesting…" Avarice rubbed his chin.
"Indeed!" nodded Divinity. "I am the embodiment of the Summoner Class and its Divinity, and also the keeper of the Summoner Records. This Palace manifested when Blake awakened the powers of the Summoner Class and advanced even further, inheriting the Skills of the previous users to become even stronger. He has become the ultimate summoner, born from the hard work of the previous ones, stacking upon their power!"
"I see, so even in this world, Asmodeus, you've become quite a prodigy," smirked Avarice. "I can't wait to see what you'll bring upon the universe once you step out of Spiritias… Perhaps bringing war to those arrogant archangels who believe they make the rules would be glorious."
"Don't force me into your own conflicts, Avarice," I said. "I'm not going anywhere else either… I'm staying, this is my new home. Now, Divinity, show me the statues. I have enough Spirit Orbs to upgrade them all."
"How many?" she wondered.
"I have secured at least ten thousand B Rank Spirit Orbs and over a hundred thousand C Rank Spirit Orbs," I explained. "If you give me some time, I could make them all into A Rank Spirit Orbs."
"W-What?! So many…" she was surprised. "I suppose you've been putting the power of the Summoner to good use, and I'm so happy to hear that. This Class, this power, it was created by the Holy Spirits for the sole purpose of protecting this world, and you've done so wonderfully, Blake. Thank you on behalf of not just me, or the Holy Spirits, but of the previous Summoners."
"You don't need to thank me for anything," I said. "I am doing what I must, not out of duty, but that's what I wanted to do, what I believed was right and necessary. Our goals… simply aligned."
"Hahah, well, let me help you feed the statues with the offerings you have," she said.
I quickly offered hundreds of Spirit Orbs to the statues, and then thousands… it took half an hour, but once we were done, all statues were glowing brighter than ever before.
Each statue changed from white stone to pure gold, glowing brightly.
Their power flowed towards me, as I felt much stronger than before, and so did all of my familiars, as my summoner magic and powers increased to completely new levels.
