Chapter 1487: New Vampire Spirit

"But I promised Sangre I would look over my descendants, and even though you've already died and reincarnated as someone unrelated to me, you are still one of us. I shall help you in whatever I can."

I expected him to have a snarky and annoying personality, but he's the incredibly serious and dutiful type, huh? Well, that suits me better.

"Thank you, Avarice," I smiled. "However, I believe there's a chance for you to return somewhat…"

"Which chance?" Sangre asked. "There's no way… I left him like this anyway because if he had a new body and everything he would be completely unhinged, you know that Asmodeus?"

"Don't worry, if anything, once I'm done he'll be even more tied to me than before."

I quickly touched the gauntlet, imbuing it with spiritual power.

Before, I had turned Gluttony into my new Spirit, and now, I am doing the same Spirit Creation Ritual with the gauntlet.

"Now I summon you as my Spirit, Avarice!"

FLAAASH!

"W-What is this?! What are you doing, my descendant?! Uggh?! AAAAGGHH!"

He screamed as the light completely consumed him, I also added a couple of other materials into the mix, mostly more of my Blood Energy and my Umbral Crimson Essence. I didn't had any demonic power or anything of the case, I wanted for this to be only about vampires.

And it worked!

FLUOSH!

The gauntlet reappeared amidst the light, now reformed, regrown, renewed, reborn… it had become twice as long, with many ornaments and even more jewels.

"It's done, how do you feel, Avarice?"

"What is this? You have turned me into your contracted spirit?! I never imagined this could be possible…"

He quickly "felt" something, that he had changed, a connection with my Spirit Orb.

He was ethereal, spiritual, and yet the same as before, his physical body remaining the same.

But now, there was an added spiritual body, a spiritual soul within him.

"Incredible right?" I asked. "This is the power of Spirit Masters in Spiritias. Now you're my Spirit, Avarice. I'll gladly accept an Ancient Vampire King such as yourself within my ranks."

"I can't believe it…" he said. "But this is… a new beginning for me. I can finally return, and you cannot stop me anymore, Sangre! I'll do as I please! Perhaps I can begin by conquering Spiritias for you, my descendant?"

"Hahah! I don't mind," laughed Sangre. "Avarice, you should quickly come to the realization that you aren't as "free" as you think you are."

"What?" Avarice looked at me. "What does that mean?"

"Calm down and sit down, Avarice," I said. "I don't want you to conquer anything for me."

"Yes… Huh?!" Avarice gasped as he suddenly sat down to my commands.

"You're now my spirit, so better be careful what you do," I explained. "You are not completely free. I cannot trust you enough for that, you're my familiar, under my command."

"That's… reasonable…" he sighed. "Better than nothing…" he spoke through the gauntlet, which sat over the nearest seat. "But this… I can feel something else… Powers? No, these so-called Skills! And this one… I'll use it!"

FLUOSH!

Suddenly, he transformed, the gauntlet projecting a giant mass of blood, spiritual energy, and shadows, taking the form of a tall Vampire, the tallest I've ever seen, with long black and white hair, and glowing crimson eyes.

His face seemed… not that young but not that old either, perhaps like a man on his early forties, he had no facial hair, but had a large nose and a serious, stoic face, making him look rather stern and dignified.

"Hmph, not bad." He looked at his body with surprise, smirking viciously. "I once almost governed the universe, my descendant. I was feared by all as the King of Greed, more than the Archdemon himself, which I know you've slain."

"I see…" I nodded.

"I respect you greatly, Asmodeus," he said, surprising me. "Even if I was freed completely, I would have not escaped. I see you as a precious descendant and the inheritor of my legacy. I saw as you slew those Archdemons, as you fought Lucifer himself… I cannot deny you've surpassed me now."

"Have I?" I asked, wondering.

"Indeed, I never was able to accomplish any of those things. I was only slain by a damned Archangel at the end, so go figure," he sighed. "But I would have almost done it… if only I was given time… Whatever the case, this is a new life, new challenges, and new blood to drink. So I'll follow you, not because I bend the knee to you, but out of respect, and admiration. We vampires tend to follow the strongest of our clan after all, it is within our natures."

"Well, I'm glad to hear that," I nodded. "Now… I still have four more slots for Vampire Spirits. I guess I could summon a few, but not for now. I'm done here, let's keep moving."

"Wait a second!" Sangre called, stopping me.

She approached me, caressing my face.

"Why won't you stay here for at least a few hours, Asmodeus? As Avarice said, you've done so great, I want to compensate you in more ways than just strength," she smiled. "I can assure you that you will enjoy every second of it… just the two of us, mother and child~ I will show you a new world of pleasure."

"Not interested," I said. "I already have three beautiful women. I don't need your cheap love, Sangre. You can keep it for yourself."

"Hahaha!" Avarice laughed at my response, as Sangre remained there, in silence.

"I was rejected again…" Sangre sighed. "Oh well! Make sure to bring me a lot of blood, kill lots and lots of people… or at least demons, okay?"

"I'll do it even if you didn't tell me," I said. "Let's go, Avarice."

We walked outside the Vampire King Castle, moving through the skies of this place. While admiring the view, Avarice spoke more.
