Transmigrated into the Most Hated Scum. My Wives are Plentiful!

Chapter 87: Mysterious Figure

He regarded Koul with disdain. Since he was taller, his eyes bored down coldly on Koul.

After a moment, he moved to walk past Koul. Koul said nothing and was ready to walk away.

But Zetian, the Veltaurs' former son, paused.

"It hasn't even been a week long that they took you in, yet you already show your unruly side," he said.

His voice was low and quiet, like he wasn't letting out insulting words.

"Comport yourself to the best of your ability. Don't go dragging them into more trouble than they already are."

He moved to continue walking but Koul's loud scoff ceased him in place.

"Why should an outsider worry about the matters of another family?" Koul questioned.

His back was turned on Zetian and he didn't turn to even spare him a glance.

Zetian's face twisted uglily. But Koul wasn't about to stop there.

"Is it not a well known courtesy for outsiders not to meddle in other family's affairs? Or is it merely something a commoner like me picked up from the streets?" He smirked.

"Eh… I thought nobles were an example of good manners. But guess I was wrong."

Like this, Koul not only insulted him by calling him an outsider, he questioned his manners and how he was raised as a noble.

Zetian's face contorted beyond recognition. His expression was tight and dark with rage.

His hand snapped out and snatched Koul by the collar of his uniform. With force, he pulled Koul and slammed him against the pillar that was beside him.

They were in a veranda that stretched long over the entirety of one side of the building. Hefty pillars lined the veranda.

Zetian pressed Koul against the pillar, his mouth open and gritting.

"What did you say?!" He snarled in question.

Before the situation could escalate, some boys and girls seemingly the same age as Zetian stepped forward to intervene.

They were clad in knight like uniforms with sheathed swords by their waist. And they seemed to be Zetian's team mates.

"Hey Zet, stop it now," one of the girls said.

She approached and grabbed Zetian's arms, pulling at him to free Koul.

"Zeti, keep in mind we are outside and there might be people. You have to be careful," a male one said.

Koul simply remained silent and unmoving. He stared back directly into Zetian's enraged eyes with calm ones.

He was unbothered and simply let them do what they deemed fit.

Zetian freed Koul and took a few steps backward. He knew what the consequences might be, but was still ready to face it if that meant he got to pummel Koul's face.

"It's okay. Just leave him, let's go."

A male knight turned and started heading away.

Zetian clicked his tongue in contained anger and dissatisfaction. He tore his gaze aside and walked away with his team mates.

As they walked off, one of the girls stopped. She had short curly hair in a shade of blue mixed with some light grey.

"Zetian is an upright and respected knight. He's your senior here so make sure to show him the respect he deserves, regardless of whatever feud is going on between you both."

She turned away.

"Hey! Wait for me!"

She ran forward and joined them.

Koul's eyes lingered on them as they left. His eyes were empty and tired. After a moment, a questioning thought hit him.

Ah! I wonder if my wives are among them.

Since he'd never seen his two wives that were knights, he couldn't recognize them even if they stood in front of him.

Stressed from everything, Koul yawned wide and loud. He turned and continued walking toward his classroom.

As he walked, he sighted a girl coming his direction. She was pale with ice blue hair which stood out to him.

Her appearance was striking. Her beauty seemed to captivate Koul.

His eyes watched her till she got close and walked past him.

Koul didn't look back. He had a lot in his head and clearly, he had wives.

But after the girl passed him, she paused. She turned swiftly and followed Koul with her eyes.

Her gaze lingered heavily on his back as he walked away. She seemed to be a bit confused about something and her gaze held wonder.

From the other side of the veranda where she was heading, two girls peeked out from one of the doors.

"Arista? What is it?" Omaya asked.

Arista tore her eyes from Koul's silhouette that was fading and turned to Omaya and Seira.

"Um.. nothing," she said, and continued walking toward them. "Just thought I saw someone we know. But I guess I was wrong."

She reached the two girls and they immediately intertwined their arms in hers.

"Yes yes, let's go or we'll be late."

They urged.

_ _ _ _ _ _

When Koul got to the door to his classroom. He didn't hesitate to push open the door and stepped in.

Of course, the noise instantly died down and a heavy silence fell upon the whole classroom. Every eye, as always, darted to him.

But still, as always, Koul didn't mind.

He was busy in his head, computing things together as he walked to his seat.

Finding the culprit responsible for this will be quite difficult. We have no lead at all nor any potential suspect.

Sigh!

He exhaled aloud.

The students pushed aside and gave way as Koul entered his seat row. He sat calmly and rested his head on one hand.

His expression was lazy and tired. But most of all, unbothered.

I could just decide to let it go and forget about it, but that would be foolish. The culprit surely has a goal for doing this.

Might've been out of pure hatred, but I can't know for sure without interrogating them.

And… he paused his thoughts and swept his eyes through the students.

Their eyes squinted and some exchanged glances, wondering why Koul was looking at them.

If I was branded the prime suspect and got my room checked so fast even before I could know, then there must be someone who sold me out as the suspect.

The school shouldn't be in on it, they might be, but I'd like to think they aren't due to how neutral the principal seemed.

By this, the person definitely came out as a witness. But who could it be? I don't even know anyone here.

Although Koul would prefer to immerse himself in his own thoughts and shut away their overstimulating whispers, he wasn't deaf.

"They really let him off the hook so easily, huh?"

"I guessed it would be like this. All because his adoptive parents are powerful people."

"I thought his luck was shitty for being adopted by them, but turns out he's shit himself haha. He's already going about rubbing the family's name in the mud, bahahaha!"

"How did he even think he could steal it without being caught? So foolish."

"Hey, he would've actually succeeded if not for the witness."

"True. If the witness hadn't seen him head out that late at night on his way back from helping the professors, he might've probably succeeded."

Koul's brow twitched. They slightly wrinkled as his memories reconnected.

He remembered passing by a student when he headed out to train yesterday.

I already guessed it but I should've known.

This would've have given him a lead in the least, but there was one problem.

Koul let out a loud, tiring sigh.

Ugh… I don't know the face of the student.

I didn't get a proper look that night.

Weighed with his situation, Koul decided to take a breather.

Seems the class has been delayed due to the issue on ground,

He thought as he rose and exited the classroom.

He hoped to return to his chambers to get some rest all while thinking things through.

He also knew for certain that Kanstiv had heard about everything. And might even be currently digging through it.

Koul planned to wait for Kanstiv in his room so they could discuss things.

Since Kanstiv was well trained and somehow found it easy to maneuver his way, he knew he could come in through the window while avoiding public eyes.

Koul hadn't even strolled far down the hallway when a figure cloaked in black swept past him like a breeze.

Along came an unsettling whisper.

"I see you got out of this one."
