Transmigrated into the Most Hated Scum. My Wives are Plentiful!

Chapter 86: The Scummy Son Finally Makes an Appearance

Koul pulled his gaze away from his parents and dragged it toward the principal and the professor present.

The principal sat comfortably across the table. She looked to be in her mid 50s. She had short curly grey hair and brown eyes.

She fixated her eyes intently on Koul.

By her side, a male professor with long black hair stood. Unlike the principal's eyes that were light with no explicit details, the professor's eyes carried anger and contempt toward Koul.

He stepped forward and stood before Koul, tall and commanding.

"I'm sure even you are aware that such crime comes with a heavy punishment," he said, glaring coldly at Koul.

Koul didn't respond. He simply gazed back. Even while his heart was heavy due to the disappointment on his adoptive parents' faces, he kept a calm appearance.

"Stealing one of the school's treasure right after you just enrolled here to compensate for your ill fate, that is a bold move. Especially from a low life like you."

At this, Koul's adoptive parents snapped their gazes toward the professor.

Even if Koul had been a low life commoner, he was already adopted by nobles and registered, so he was no longer one.

Seeing the displeasure on Mr and Mrs Veltaur's faces, the principal stepped in.

"Professor Panen, please step back," she said quietly.

He stared down at Koul, his eyes ablaze with contemptuous hate.

He was already angered by his criminal actions, but Koul's way of staring back fueled it more.

Koul was calm, staring right back into the professor's eyes just as cold.

This deeply unsettled the professor.

Is he not just a mere commoner that had been picked up from the streets by the Veltaurs? He wondered.

Because thinking about it, he believed only a commoner would accept to be adopted into the Veltaur's family. A noble wouldn't.

And if he had been a noble, then his adoption would've made the headlines.

So, he was pretty sure Koul was a mere commoner.

"Why do you simply stand there and look back at me with such impolite eyes?" He questioned sternly.

"Shoul you not speak if you've commited a crime?"

Koul sighed aloud, drawing everyone's attention. They stared at him in disbelief to his unbothered reaction.

Even his parents were confused.

"What should I say when I don't even know what is going on?" He shot back at the professor.

This further infuriated the man. His brows drew together, face tight with annoyance.

"What a lame way to defend yourself. Are you saying you know nothing about this rune that was found in your room?!"

He snatched a mini pouch from the principal's desk and dangled it in Koul's face.

Inside was an orange glowing rune.

"This is one of the treasures we have here. An ancient rune that can be used by talented to strengthen and empower their abilities. And also…" he paused.

His eyes gleamed with disdain.

"…by non talented to awaken," he said.

"The students here already have great abilities, so they have no use for this. But you, it's obvious you were envious and wanted to change your fate. After this was found in your room, and the motif is this clear, are you still going to shamelessly deny it?"

"Ugh…" Koul groaned softly. He tilted his head aside and rolled his eyes lazily.

He still didn't seem to care despite the professor's ranting. And his lazy expressions and reactions came off rude.

The principal and the professor were shocked.

Even Koul's adoptive parents were surprised. It was their first time seeing Koul act so nonchalant and rude.

And that too, in front of such accusations.

The professor fumed with rage, but before he could speak any further, the principal spoke.

"Reshan Veltaur," she called.

Her voice was calm, and her tone wasn't as harsh or laced with contempt as the professor's.

"What have you to say regarding this matter?" She asked, eyes zeroed on Koul.

Again, Koul sighed. His face was calm, and his eyes were void of any emotions.

"What have I to say when all evidence points to me? It's not like my words would change what you already believe to be true."

His parents' gaze snapped to him again, surprised at his impolite way of speaking to the principal.

But Koul looked away, avoiding their eyes.

Tsk!

If I'm expelled from this school, I will not take it lightly.

I wonder how many students would have to turn up dead one after one before they find the mastermind and prove my innocence.

The principal kept silent, simply scrutinizing Koul with her gaze.

But before long, his parents rose from their seats.

"Principal Engel, please. We ask that you pardon him for this mistake and not be too harsh," Mrs Veltaur pleaded.

She lowered herself to a bow and continued.

"On our behalf, we ask that you be merciful. He's still just a boy."

Koul's heart twisted in pain.

Seeing his new parents lower themselves for something he didn't even do, deeply pained him.

It saddened his heart.

He wasn't going to let whoever had set him up go freely before. But now, that resolve just hardened further.

He will not spare whoever it was.

The principal rose from her seat and gently lifted the Veltaurs.

"Please don't be like this. We've known each other for long now," she said.

"Thank you Engel," Mrs Veltaur said with a grateful smile.

"As for your son," she said.

Her gaze turned to Koul, a cunning smile plastered on her face.

"Umu! I've decided. He will stay back every class to clean up and do service work for one month."

Koul's gaze squinted with disbelief.

Me? Community service?

"Oh! Thank you very much Engel. We'll make sure something like this never happens again."

"Of course, you should. If it happens again, your son is as good as gone," the principal smiled bright like she didn't just threaten them.

To Koul, she turned and said.

"You are free to leave."

"Tch!" The professor clicked in anger.

While Koul's parents bowed and followed him, Koul simply turned away and walked out.

He strolled calmly down the hallway, while his parents trailed carefully behind him.

The atmosphere was tense and the silence was awkward.

None of them knew what to say. It was true they considered Koul to have really stolen the rune and doubted him. After all, they haven't known him for long.

But still, they wanted to hear him out.

Koul, on the other hand, had already concluded his new parents were just like everyone who believed he truly stole the rune.

"I will go to class now," Koul announced.

He didn't glance back at them. Just briefly paused.

He moved to start leaving but a hand held him back.

He turned to Mrs Veltaur. Her eyes were a bit red and filled with soft sadness. She held onto his arm as tight as she could, like letting him go was forever.

"Son, you… did you do it?"

Her voice was cracking and low.

Koul gazed back at her softly.

Didn't they already believe I did?

Koul turned to fully face her, his eyes soft just like hers.

"I know everything points to me doing it, but I did not," he said quietly, his gaze cast low.

They don't have to believe. But at least I told them the truth.

Koul had concluded they wouldn't believe his words over the evidence. But to his surprise, Mrs Veltaur pulled him into a hug.

"I believe you," she said, holding him tighter.

"I'm so sorry," she cried softly.

Mr Veltaur came closer and joined in the hug.

"They must hate you enough to already start plotting against you," he said as he patted Koul's back.

Koul was filled with inexplicable emotions. His insides wriggled with feelings he couldn't quite digest.

No, really, where did Kanstiv get me these people from?

He couldn't believe they believed his words over the evidence. And he understood very well that Mrs Veltaur's apology was for not being able to defend him back in the principal's office.

And also for this misfortune that had befallen him.

"It's okay," Koul said softly. "It's enough that you both believe me."

The hug stretched for a while before they pulled away.

Mrs Veltaur caressed Koul's cheek gently with a smile. She felt sorry for him. And she knew asking him to quit the academy wasn't an option.

She could only console him this way.

"Do not endure their harsh treatment. Always come to us if things get out of hand. We'll always support you."

"Hahaha, thank you mom," he chuckled.

After one final hug, the Veltaurs left.

Since everyone was either already in class or the dining hall, no one was there to witness their loving moments.

Koul turned to walk back to class, but instead, almost bumped into a figure that stood gallant like a massive wall behind him.

"Fuck!" He cussed lowly, lifting his gaze to see who it was.

Before him was a young man, tall with a commanding aura. His eyes were a gleaming blue and his hair, a soft pink that was slicked back.

Koul would've walked past him like he would any other person if it hadn't been for the striking resemblance he bore toward his new mother, Mrs Veltaur.

Oh? The scummy son finally makes his entrance.
