The Werewolf King's Bride

Chapter 458: Confusing Dream

(From Blue's Perspective)

I got a letter from Dem a day later. In the letter, he as usual asked me about my health and answered all my inquiries. I felt quite relieved getting a letter from him. Everything was normal, except for the last part that surprised me.

I know, my love, this will surprise you as well as make you feel bad that I do not trust you enough, but in reality, that is not the case at all. I just need to tell you about it for my own sake. I cannot calm down. So, even if it makes you feel I am suspecting you, please read it and know that I do not suspect you at all and am just telling you about a hallucination of some kind.

Yesterday, near the hillside where the battle has taken place, I saw you. Surprising, isn't it? But I did. It was undoubtedly a hallucination since how could you even be there? I could not stop thinking about it. The way you looked me in the eyes, felt way too real.

I got goosebumps all over my body. But then, within one second, you were gone. I only blinked once.

I have seen you many times in my tent, whenever I closed my eyes, but yesterday, I felt really uncomfortable as it felt too real. I am sorry if I offend you in any way, for I know you never left the mansion and why would I? How would you even know where I was without anyone's guidance? Besides, you were alone when I saw you. It doesn't make sense, but it also does at the same time.

I gasped. How could he say the same thing when I had a dream about the exact same thing? My heart was pounding in my chest. I felt rather uncomfortable. It was no normal thing after all to dream the same thing from different viewpoints. It was almost like it truly happened.

But it had to be a dream, as when I woke up, I was still in the indoor garden. Besides, Calix and Perita were with me the whole time. How could the shadow come and take me there when they were all with me? Moreover, the shadow was not dumb enough to do that. What was his gain in doing something like that?

At last, after thinking for quite a while, I resolved upon it being nothing more than a dream. Then, I wrote my husband a letter. In that letter, I told him about what I thought while omitting the dream that I had which confused me.

My love, it certainly cannot be true. Such a thing is anything but possible. I never left the mansion and why would I in my right mind leave the mansion? It is the safest place for me and our baby.

As you said, it undoubtedly was a hallucination. It must make you worry about me more, but rest assured, I am doing well and I never got out of the mansion ground. You know, Sapphire misses you, I think. She keeps on sitting on your pillow, you know, every time I go to the bed. She used to sit on your chest every time you lay down, remember?

After finishing the letter, I called Perita and Calix in my bedroom to ask them a few things that were troubling me.

"Good Morning, Your Highness," Calix said and Perita repeated.

"Good Morning," I said back.

"Did you have a good night's sleep, Your Highness?" Calix asked.

"I did. Thank you for asking," I said. "I actually want to ask you two something."

"Yes, Your Highness?"

"Yesterday, when we were in the indoor garden, what happened?"

"What do you mean what happened?" Perita asked, confused.

"Tell me everything in detail, even the things that I saw and the things that happened when I fell asleep."

"Well, we went to that room when it was raining in the afternoon. Your Highness looked around the place. We talked about the weather and Perita started fighting with me for no reason. Then, Your Highness scolded Perita. After that, Your Highness said your legs hurt, so you sat down. At some point, Your Highness fell asleep.

We remained as quiet as possible that time as to not wake Your Highness up. Lady Ruby came an hour later to give Your Highness the letters the Marquis and the Marchioness sent for you. But upon finding Your Highness, she decided not to wake you up, although you woke up just five minutes later," Calix explained.

"Did no one else come at that time?" I asked.

"No, not another soul," Perita said. "But why are you asking, Your Highness?"

"Nothing," I said. "I had a strange dream, it's just that."

"A dream?"

"It's nothing, I got confused with reality for a moment, you see," I said, shrugging. "That said, where is Evan? I can't see him for a while."

"He has been sleeping all the time, Your Highness," Perita said. "Why did His Highness even leave him here if he was going to sleep all day?"

"He must be tired. We don't need him all the time anyway," I said.

"May I say something, Your Highness?" Perita asked.

"No, just don't," Calix said immediately.

"I think he wants company," she said. "What I mean is I think he is in need of a woman in bed. Since he can't get any here, he is spending his days sleeping."

"Why do you think that?" I asked.

"She is crazy," Calix muttered.

"Well, Your Highness, I have seen a lot of men who cannot do anything right unless they have a woman waiting for them in bed," she said. "I bet King Ford is someone like that."

"For your kind information, I must break your heart, Knight Perita," the very person who she was talking about spoke," as I am not the kind of man who needs a woman in bed every night to feel better."
