"I want to show Your Highness something."

"Show me what?" I asked, feeling a very suspicious aura about him.

"Just a few things," he said. "Come with me somewhere."

"Never," I replied immediately. "Are you crazy? I cannot trust you enough and I am not to leave this place."

"Just for a moment, I will show you what you want to see," he said.

"No, I cannot. I must not."

"Your Highness, has His Highness told you a thing?"

"What?" I asked.

He bent and brought his face closer to my ear. "The shadow gets what he wants."

Within a second, I felt myself rising from the ground. I had no idea how I was in his arms and he was literally jumping from one tree to another. I was screaming, as I held him tightly, so I would not fall.

"Let me go!" I yelled.

"If I do so, you will die."

"No, do not let me go!"

At last, for what felt like an eternity, he seemed to stop. He kept me in his arms and I opened my eyes after keeping it closed tightly for a long time out of fear. We were on a hillside from where a battlefield could be seen rather clearly.

I was unconsciously looked for Dem.

"This…"

"This is where His Highness is," he said.

"But… why did you bring me here?"

"Your Highness, look ahead very carefully. Near the oak tree, can you see the person you are looking for?"

I followed his words and he was right. I did find him, who I was looking for very earnestly.

"Dem…"

With his huge blade, I watched him beheading one and within a moment, penetrating another one with the same blade. Blood splattered everywhere. But still, I could see, I could make sure he was okay. It did not look like he was in pain.

Suddenly, the pair of black eyes made contact with mine. I was shocked.

Everything was gone. I breathed heavily as I felt I had been shocked by electricity. I was, in fact, not in that place, or with the shadow, but I was in the indoor garden, sleeping with my head on a table and sitting on a chair.

Had it been a dream? But it was way too vivid to be a dream. The way Dem looked at me, I got shivers all over my body. He had the look of shock, anger and worry in his eyes at the same time.

Perita and Calix were there too. They were arguing about something, just a little far from where I was.

"Your Highness is finally awake," Ruby said. "I came and noticed you sleeping."

"Ah…"

"It is raining. Must be why Your Highness felt sleepy," she said and sat down by me.

"Well, I am sleeping all day, yet I feel tired. I can sleep some more now," I said.

"Pregnancy has a effect on the sleep cycle too," she said.

"Yeah…"

"Doesn't Your Highness's back hurt? You probably should go to the bedroom to lie down properly."

"No, I am fine," I said. "I just feel a little fatigued. But I don't think I should lie down now. I am getting too lazy anyway."

"I see. Just please take care of yourself," she said. "And for the reason I was looking for Your Highness… Mother in law and father in law have sent you three letters, two for you and one for me."

Mom and Dad were not given the exact location where we were, but they were given another location from where others, except Dem, would send letters and Flint would once in a while go and get them. Flint had to go back for a few days because his daughter had a fever, but he had come back again two days ago.

Ruby gave me the letters. In the letters, they expressed great concern for my health and kept asking me to send them another letter. I had sent them a letter a few days ago. It was a signal so they could start sending me letters. I told them not to send me any letters before I sent them a letter first.

I was actually worried that maybe we would have to change plans and the letters would go in the wrong hands. Their letters might or might not contain important information. Nevertheless, I was not ready to take any kind of risk.

One of the letters were written by Mom and the other one was written by Dad. Dad's letter contained more concern for my health. But Mom's letter contained her concern for my relationship with my husband as well. She was more aware of my marriage with Dem than Dad and understood more of it.

I will not lie to you, my dear daughter, that I am not worried about your relationship with His Majesty. To be honest, I always will be and you very well know why. I do not wish to disrespect His Majesty and I love him very dearly, just as much as I love my own son, but I cannot look past his toxic traits that makes me so worried about you, my dear.

Does His Majesty do anything that might be wrong in general view? It is a good thing that His Majesty does not need to mate on the full moon night. Or, it would have been very hard for you, since you are pregnant.

During pregnancy, werewolves, both male and female, did not face the must to mate on a full moon night. For that reason, Dem stopped going to heat on a full moon night since we got the news of our baby.

I was grateful for it since I was not sure if I would be in the mood to mate that very night. Dem would not want to mate with me if I did not agree to it, but for his sake, I probably would. It would surely not be pleasant for me to do something that I did not want to, no matter what it was.

Honestly, I wish I could be there with you. I have been through pregnancy, so I could probably be a bit of help to you. I believe my lovely daughter in law is by your side to help you. She is a very amazing friend, is she not? I am glad she is Luc's mate. I could not find a better daughter in law. Experience new stories on empire

I wish I could see you. But it is not possible, for your safety. I should not even wish for it for now. After everything is over, I need to see you as soon as possible, or I cannot calm down.

And try not to worry about His Majesty much. He will be okay. Although I know you will worry anyway, just try not to go overboard and remember that he had been to war before too and he was enough experience and power to know not just how to survive, but how to win as well.
