NOVEL NEXT Chapter 10: Meeting Mesmer
When Adam woke up, he couldn't recognize his surroundings.
It looked like he was lying on a floor made of clouds, the sky above above him was of a deep blue shade like the ocean.
He wondered whether the ground and the sky had switched places, was this a dream or a hidden piece he didn't know of? Only time will tell.
"Are you just going to lay down there all day or get off your boney *ss?"
Adam had thought he could escape the fat allegations but instead, they got replaced by boney allegations.
Truly a moment of great loss.
Adam stood up and looked at the direction from which the voice came.
He saw a giant throne, upon which, sat a man with the physical features of every race that existed in Theatre Of The Gods.
Demon horns, draconian teeth, vampire skin, elven ears, etc.
After carefully observing the entity before him, Adam said," You must be Mesmer."
"Oh my god, are you a genius? After eating Mesmer's Eye you ended up meeting a mysterious entity that turned out to be Mesmer? Unbelievable!"
Adam could already sense that this Mesmer character must be a delight at parties, they both seemed to share a similar sense of humor.
"We can save the sarcasm for later, tell me, why did you call me here? I have a lot of work to do."
"What a disrespectful descendent, is this how you talk to your ancestor?" said Mesmer.
"How are you, my ancestor? I am just a random person who came across your eye through happenstance and ate it."
Hearing the words of his over-smart descendant, Mesmer chuckled and said,
"Let's put the fact that you somehow came across a random eye and decided to eat it aside for now, my over-smart descendant. If anyone who isn't from my bloodline were to ingest that eye, their body would have popped open like a piñata filled with confetti."
'Are you seriously telling me, that if I didn't happen to be his descendant I would have already died before my journey even began?'
"Yes, you would have popped like a balloon as soon as you had ingested it while not having the qualifications of being my descendant"
'Oh god, can he even read my thoughts now?'
"Yes, I can."
"If you could read my thoughts you could have told me from the start!"
"How would I think of telling you about something you didn't even ask me about?"
"Do you think I would just go around talking to strangers and opening the conversation by asking them if they can read my mind or not?"
It seems as though both of these accomplished individuals had finally met their match.
For the sake of the writer's physical well-being, we will be skipping 3 hours of their conversation since it was nothing but a constant back and forth of taunting each other.
After both Adam and Mesmer ran out of jokes, Mesmer said,
"Let's move to more important topics, we have spent too much time on meaningless jabs at each other."
"THATS WHAT I HAVE BEEN SAYING FOR THE PAST 3 HOURS!"
"Listen, kid, you need to learn to be more respectful to your elders. I haven't talked to anyone for over 1000 years, I am an extroverted person. Do you know how lonely it gets being alone like this for so long?"
"I DON'T CARE WHETHER YOU FEEL LONELY OR NOT, I DIDN'T ASK TO BE HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE! IM RUNNING OUT OF TIME, THE WORLD IS GOING TO SH*T, AND THE LONELINESS FELT BY A 1000-YEAR-OLD FOSSIL IS THE LAST OF MY CONCERNS RIGHT NOW."
The two spirited individuals continued their bickering for another 3 hours...
"The reason why I called your consciousness into my domain is to tell you what's going to happen to you now that you have ingested my eye."
"That eye is the last blessing that I gave to my descendants before entering my final battle in the mortal domain 1000 years ago."
"I was just like you, I had no talent in anything but there were 2 things I had, an abundance of looks and a knack for talking to people."
"I gained my power by collecting bloodlines of different races, to do that I first copulated with the vampire queen, then I went on to becoming a vampire myself and then started copulating with women of all races be it elven, draconian, or women of the rabbit race, boy do I have some stuff to tell you about those women from the rabbit race..."
Adam was completely over it by now, this legendary figure of humanity turned out to be a womanizer who became more powerful with every new woman he spent a night with, he used the vampire's ability to absorb bloodlines from the blood they suck to gain the best talents for everything and accumulated them all into his body.
Even though the guy turned out to be a glorified womanizer, Adam had to admit that his plan was really smart.
It almost makes you wonder, however, did he had something like the 'Heavenly Dao Supreme Mating System'?
"You know I can read your mind right? And no I didn't have anything like whatever system you just thought of, in the first place, what even is a system?"
"Nothing, I have this mental illness that just makes me think of utter nonsense now and then."
"That's bad, it almost makes me worry whether you will be able to survive now that the demon lord is about to revive himself again."
" I already know that the demon lord is about to revive himself again. What I want to know is why you chose to betray humanity. With all the power you had accumulated as you say, you could have one shot at the demon lord easily."
"Well, that topic is a little embarrassing for me so I would rather not ..... Bah! Who cares, you're the last person I will ever talk to anyway before I join the cycle of reincarnation."
"Basically what happened was that I saw this woman from a race I had never seen before, so I made my usual moves and ended up spending a night with her, eventually sucking her bloodline. Later I realised she was the Succubus Queen."
Adam couldn't believe what he was hearing.
One of the greatest heroes in the history of humanity accidentally ended up sleeping with the enemy queen.
Adam could feel it, a nerve had popped out on his forehead out of sheer rage due to the fact that what he was hearing was so outrageous.
Knowing that Adam was getting increasingly angrier at him, Mesmer continued,
"So basically what I got to know afterward is that any vampire that sucks the blood of a high or above-ranked demon ends up becoming their slave till the day they die."
That was it. That was the breaking point for Adam. So many people suffered because the guy in front of him couldn't keep it in his pants for once.
Adam's mind wandered, where else in the history of his original world had he seen entire kingdoms collapse, just because great men failed to keep it in their pants and couldn't control themselves, it was a tale as old as time.
No matter where you go, human nature remains constant.
Adam running out of patience turned his back on Mesmer, walking away from him while saying,
"All right, that's enough. It was nice wasting so much time talking to you but I will be leaving now."
"Wait why are you leaving already? Don't you want me to explain the powers you will inherit from me?"
"No need to explain it yourself respected ancestor, this descendant of yours couldn't possibly bother you with such a menial task. I will be going now, I hope I never have to see you again."
As soon as Adam said that, he jumped off the edge of this land made up of clouds, instead of falling, he started falling in reverse, upwards.
He could feel some sort of force pushing him up into the vast sky-like sea.
He went up and up until he drowned in the sea above, the heaviness of the water pushed against his fragile body, he could feel the weight of the water increase as he went deeper and deeper into it.
Adam closed his eyes slowly losing all energy in his body, before he fainted, he heard one last sentence from his ancestor,
" My descendant, with these powers I have given you, it feels like you truly won't be able to catch a break anytime soon."
After a few minutes, Adam woke up in reality.
There were a lot of system notifications popping up constantly, giving Adam a migraine as soon as he woke up.

Adam wished he could go back to being dead after being stabbed by a girl he didn't even know the name of.
He was so disheartened by the changes that had transpired, that he didn't even bother to look at what the new skills he had gotten did.
The only good thing that happened due to this class change was the fact that his body was now compatible with every affinity that existed in the game.
This didn't mean that he could use all the elements right here right now, it meant that if he absorbed those affinities, he wouldn't experience backlash when using them.
In this world, everyone is compatible with certain affinities and incompatible with others.
Just because you have absorbed an affinity doesn't mean your body can handle using it.
For Adam however, that notion was now completely meaningless.
Adam now looked at his status window.

Adam had 560 charm.
A completely useless stat in the game.
If Adam had this in any stat except for charm, he would be jumping with joy, maybe it was his bad luck at play, all of his amazing opportunities turning into nothing but fluff that cannot be used anywhere in the game.
The charm stat is only useful during character interactions that take place during the dating simulator part of the game which was used to gain party members for the main protagonist.
All of the heroines had enormous fan bases, so much so that the devs got pressured into adding a full-fledged dating simulator into the game.
Adam had ignored the entire part of the game that had the dating simulator in it.
Adam believed that it is much more productive to date a real woman rather than a bunch of pixels.
Adam already had his next moves planned.
Adam was going to absorb the GRAV affinity and gain access to the telekinesis skill tree.
While Adam was busy charting the course for all the hidden pieces that he could acquire before the entrance exam, the new traits that he had obtained and his new class had already started working in the background passively.
Adam had chosen to ignore these new traits due to how useless he found them to be since they all scaled with the useless charm stat but, little did Adam know, these traits would completely alter the course of his life in unimaginable ways.
Adam looked at himself in the mirror, he could see that his black coloured eyes had turned purple, and the colour of his iris had shifted.
Adam deduced that this was probably due to the new skill [ENCHANTING EYES] he had gained, another trait that scaled with charm, another trait that was completely useless to him.
Adam chose to see the silver lining in this, at least his eyes look pretty and complimented the rest of his facial features well.
Nobody dislikes looking better than they did before.
Adam packed up his stuff in his inventory, wrote a note to his father and left it at his desk in the office, informed Francis of where he was headed, grabbed the keys to one of their 20 luxury vehicles and made his way to Henrietta's quarters to pick her up for their journey.
Little did Adam know, this meeting with Henrietta would already start showing him the butterfly effect that just having these new traits would create, even if Adam were to do nothing and just stand in one place during the events of the entire game, the existence of these traits had already destroyed the game's original story.
As Mesmer had said, "Adam won't be able to catch a break anytime soon."
