The Unexpected Ultimacy

Chapter 14: Chapter 14

"Slap!"

"Thwack!!"

"Whap!!!" Teeth were seen flying in the air.

Michael cleared all the thugs with heavy slaps in a second as they charged toward him.

They had come to fight him because the one who hired them had been slapped. It was a great match, giving them harder slaps on their faces to fuel their rage. The worst they could do was exactly what Michael wanted.

Kim and Austin were utterly stunned seeing all the boys on the floor, groaning. They all had red and swollen faces, worse than Austin's. Furthermore, almost all their teeth were uprooted, making their mouths covered with blood.

'Is this a slap or something else?!' Austin's mind raced.

At the sight of that, Kim's anger peaked. "Ah!!" He yelled at the top of his voice, aiming a punch at Michael's face.

The guy gave him the chance until he grabbed the thug's arm, a millimeter from his face.

"Learn how to say no to certain assignments," Michael said to him coldly.

"Crack!!" Michael twisted Kim's arm, leaving it fractured.

Kim's eyes widened in extreme shock. He couldn't believe his arm had just broken like a toothpick.

"Ah!! Ah!!!" Kim cried like a baby when the sharp pain finally struck his brain.

"Bam!" Michael punched his chest, and the thug spun in the air and landed at Austin's feet.

"And you!" Michael pointed at Austin, who was already frozen. It was as if he were watching a horror movie. He remembered his bouncer kicking Michael out last night, and he couldn't do anything.

How could he become so powerful all of a sudden?

He quickly returned to reality, blinking his eyelids. "Don't point that useless finger at me!" he snapped.

"What do you think of yourself now? Are you happy because you defeated these novice thugs?!" Austin roared.

Kim couldn't believe Austin had just called him a novice thug after he had lost his arm because of him. He shook his head, regretting that he had accepted the assignment in the first place.

"Michael, it's not over yet! I'm coming back for you!!" Austin shouted. Then he left, his mind terrified. However, he tried his best to hide his feelings.

Some of Kim's boys had regained slight strength and leaned on each other to help themselves out.

Michael turned in the direction where Agatha had stood earlier, but he couldn't find her. The caretaker had fled.

Michael ruffled his hair, frustrated about the situation on the ground. 'How would I get this document now?'

Just then, he heard a voice shout, "Freeze! Don't move!"

Raising his head, he saw three policemen approaching. "Young man, your attention is urgently needed at our station," one of the policemen said.

Michael was taken aback. "For what reason?" he asked calmly.

The second policeman responded, "No amount of explanation we give you can help. Why don't you follow us so you can find out? It's very urgent."

The response seemed odd to Michael, but he didn't argue with them. Then they headed to the police station.

.......

It was past five in the evening when they arrived at the station.

However, Michael was left behind the counter. None of the policemen attended to him, nor did they disclose to him why he was there.

"What's happening here?! Will I remain here forever?!" Michael slammed his palm on the counter angrily.

A total silence seized the air, all eyes on Michael.

"Is that why you bark so hard? A criminal with audacity?!" A man in his late twenties came out from an office near the reception. His face was very cold and rough.

He shot a cold glare at Michael and asked, "You are a burglar, aren't you?"

Michael was silent; he wondered what he was talking about.

"How dare you leave my question hanging?!" the officer shouted at Michael.

"Go have a proper check on the information you were given. I know nothing about what you're talking about..."

Michael was explaining when the officer slammed some photographs on the counter.

The guy was silent for a few moments before he glanced at the photographs. His eyes squinted, and his attention piqued.

He picked up the photographs, staring at them closely, and was left in disbelief.

It was a picture of Michael trying to open the door to his room. It looked more like he wanted to burst into the room.

'Who took this picture to frame me?' Michael questioned in his mind.

The guy raised his head in surprise, and the officer shot him a cold glare.

"Your bail is five thousand dollars," the officer said coldly before turning to return to his office.

"Let me explain this..."

The officer stopped in his tracks and snapped at Michael, "What explanation? Do the photographs say otherwise about who you are?"

Before the officer turned and entered the office, Michael's gaze fell on the tag on his chest. The name read, Ben Lewis.

This made his face frown, realizing that the wicked caretaker had framed him using the opportunity of his family member in the police force, both endowed with greed.
