Chapter 13: Chapter 13
Then, he saw the hologram in his mind. Carefully, he read the information on it.
[Notice! You’ve reached the end of your free wishes. Earn gems by completing tasks issued by the system. With the gems, you can make more wishes.]
Michael's eyes snapped wide in disappointment. He never expected the system to let him down this time.
Even though all the information he had just received wasn't so clear to him, at least he was able to understand that he couldn't make any wishes at that time.
Agatha, who had been watching Michael's strange body language, began to taunt him, "Does it mean that you've begun to lose your senses?"
Michael didn't even pay her any attention. His mind was more engaged in the thought of how he could retrieve the document before leaving.
That was the only valuable item he had. He can't let it go.
"Pack this speck of dirt you call belongings and leave right now! I can make your life miserable if you push me to the wall!" the woman barked harder.
Michael silenced Agatha with a cold glare, which ignited her anger. Then, she retrieved her phone and began to operate it with rage.
Michael hadn't yet made a decision when they began to hear rushing footsteps approaching.
In a flash, a gang of thugs spread out before them. They were the Krusher Gang, known for disturbing the neighborhood with their hooliganism.
Michael remained calm, wondering who they had come for. Then, the leader of the gang, Kim Krusher, walked forward. "Hey, loser! Say goodbye to your legs because my boys will get them crippled in the next few minutes!"
The thug guffawed while his boys joined in. "Today is a bad day for you. In the end, you will regret your existence!" he barked even harder.
All the threats thrown at Michael had no effect on him. Instead, he turned a cold stare at Agatha and asked, "How long have you been planning this?"
"You still have the guts to ask me questions? Hmph!" Agatha snapped at him impatiently.
"Are you thinking of apologizing? It's already too late! You stepped on the wrong toes," Kim Krusher laughed wickedly, pointing a finger at him in derision.
"Kim! Don't you think that you are about to endanger your life with this assignment? I expect you to be wiser than the one who sent you," Michael's words fell like a hard slap on his face.
"Your tongue has always been your problem. And you have just asked for death with it." Austin emerged from a corner where he had hidden himself.
His face was cold with indignation.
The thugs opened the way for him, and he walked forward with a scowling face.
"Do you see what my face looks like all because of your foolishness?" Austin pointed at his swollen face in fury. A mucus nearly dropped from his nose.
"You don't need to stress yourself, Mr. Graham. My boys will break his bones in the blink of an eye," Krusher intervened.
This time, Michael understood that Austin had invited the Krusher Gang for him, all because he was slapped at the bank.
Austin's eyes turned bloodshot. Then he ordered the gang, "The existence of this fool disgusts me. Hurry up and break his head!"
"If this is what you’ve got, bring it on," Michael responded calmly.
The gang was surprised to hear this. Michael had just challenged them! He had just asked for death!
The gang was about to attack him when Agatha shouted, "Beat him, but don't kill him! He still has other cases to settle!"
