The SSS Legendary Dragon Chose Me On Rebirth

One and a half weeks passed in a flash.

And the Dragon Lord had shown that he was going to be ruthless with the running of the Region now. Any form of oppression was openly crushed.

In fact, in that one and a half weeks, Drenvar went on a hunt to crush almost everything that was on his way in the most brutal way he could, so much so that it cowed the whole Western Region.

Most of the families of the Dukes were killed, leaving the weakest to inherit the position, but it was apparent that the time of the Dukes in the Western Region had come to an end.

The Lords of the Region came as Drenvar commanded and, together with the newly appointed Dukes, they swore loyalty to the Grand Duke of the Western Region.

Vacuse himself was busy as he attended most of the meetings, but he also had his own things to take care of, the first of which was turning all the guards, including Captain Mera and all the Dragon Guards that had been protecting him, into the New Dawn.

Captain Mera was the Captain, while Harkon held the position of Vice Captain as Vacuse's personal guard. Kagerou was still the messenger and, with Vacuse's past life knowledge as well as Kagerou's own connections, they began to expand their connections in the information network of the Western Region through Lyra's leftover strings.

With the riches of the Dukes now mostly in the Vorrakyn's hands as well as the new allocations from the capital, things were taking a vague shape that all with eyes could see.

But Vacuse knew that all the schemes they were crushing were not the real thing. The real schemers were just using those to test the waters, and that was all because of one thing, the War Artifact of the Warbines.

With the Artifact, not a lot of people were ready to make enemies of the Vorrakyn. Even some of the members of the Warbines had to be very careful now.

Instead, they stood at the edge and watched with hungry eyes to see how things were going to turn out, because they knew about the Warbine Artifact. Only those with the direct Bloodline of the Warbines should be able to use it, so how were the Vorrakyn using it?

Could it be that they were keeping a member of the Warbines with them in disguise?

Different speculations abounded and, before the two weeks were over, the real test by the schemers began.

One of the small towns with a low-rank Lord that was found to have worked for Duke Lavi Ossuary had the small Lord displaced and replaced.

But the next day, the townspeople, who had suddenly gotten their hands on weapons of war, killed the newly appointed Lord by the Dragon Lord and declared themselves independent of the Grand Duke's rule.

It was a small incident in and of itself, but everyone was watching how the Vorrakyn would react.

And before evening of that same day, a beam of sword light flew out from the Red Leaves territory, over many towns and cities, to arrive at the rebelling town in a storm of small swords that wiped it out, leaving behind mangled meat and crumbled ruin.

The War Artifact was used.

At the time that Vacuse used it, a lot of attention was zeroed in on him, and not even the formation of the castle could entirely block the different means that people used to spy on them.

Some of them were immediately able to know how the Warbine War Artifact was able to be operated by the Vorrakyn.

Their secret was not secret anymore.

Drenvar and Vacuse knew something like that would happen, so they were not really flustered. But there was not really anything they could do to affect things.

It was either they had a War Artifact or they did not.

That night, Vacuse had a strange visitor. It was none other than Jellyfish in a mask. "To think you Vorrakyn can plot like this. So you stole the Artifact and changed your blood to match it to use. What do you think will happen, eh? After your blood expires?"

Vacuse was leaning on his windowsill with his eyes outside, watching the moon. Kagerou and Harkon were in the room, but they did not react to Jellyfish's voice, as the man was using illusion to block and isolate them.

"Why did I have the feeling that you were going to appear today?" Vacuse asked.

Jellyfish snorted. "You are saying this after you had your attendant go into all the markets in the city to look for where Jellyfish are sold?"

Vacuse smiled. "They did not find any."

"Hmph. So what do you want that you go through all that just to draw my attention?"

"I want to know the people in the Black Accord that are interested in me and why."

Jellyfish stiffened. "You want to know those interested in the Vorrakyns?"

"No. I want to know those who are actively interested in me."

Jellyfish shrugged and raised a finger. "This is not the only thing you want, is it? What are you going to pay?"

"Why do you not consider it as a way to make me interested in joining the Black Accord?"

Jellyfish thought about it and then shook his head. "I will use it to buy your right of joining the Black Accord. Meaning, if you ever wanted to join the Black Accord, you have to join through me."

Vacuse thought about it. "If it is like that, then you still need to get something more for me. Only then will I accept."

"Tell me what you want."

And so he did, and after that Jellyfish fulfilled his first promise. "The people that are actually interested in you are the Shadow, Phoenix, and Blood Spike."

Vacuse blinked.

Eh? He did not know the last two, even if he knew a little about the Shadow. But Phoenix and Blood Spike? "Alright, tell me why they are interested. They are all members of the Numbered Accord, right?"

Jellyfish laughed. "And I am also interested. But a deal is a deal, so listen carefully."
