The Most Satisfied Reincarnate

Chapter 120: Disobey

"What are you blabbering about?" Laura's heart skipped a beat as her young master's voice echoed in her mind once again. Her head snapped up, and a glimmer of hope lit up her eyes. "Hold on, I'm coming, young master," she replied with urgency in her voice.

Finally! The thought raced through Laura's mind, causing her eyes to shine and the corners of her mouth to curl into a relieved smile. Determination surged within her as she clenched the doorknob and yanked it with all her might.

The grating sound of the door scraping against the rough ground sent small stone pebbles flying in all directions. Laura's widened eyes met a shocking sight as she beheld the scene that lay before her.

"Is this... where my young master always comes?" A mix of surprise and horror washed over her as she took in the state of the dungeon, even worse than what Desmond had described. Cracked walls adorned with cobwebs had replaced the once sturdy torches that lined the corridors.

Countless pairs of red eyes fixed their gaze upon her, making her feel like prey standing before a predator.

"Lifestyle spell: ward," Laura chanted, and a radiant burst of light transformed into a small bird. The avian creature circled around her, carrying a gentle breeze that tickled her senses.

"Heh, calm down... help me, mate." Laura's words caught the bird's attention, causing it to cease its aerial dance and take the lead.

Unlike Desmond, who conjured a compact ball of light, Laura employed her imagination to shape the spell into a tiny bird. Despite their different forms, all these spells served the same purpose.

*step* *step*

As they advanced, Laura encountered unsettling creatures lurking in the shadows, some of which hissed in her direction. She moved cautiously, ready to cast a spell at a moment's notice should any danger arise.

"This place gives me the creeps. How did my young master endure it for so long?" Laura muttered under her breath, her voice barely a whisper. She then sent a magical message to Desmond, "Young master, I'm inside now, navigating a seemingly endless hallway."

With each step, Laura anticipated a reply from Desmond, but the silence dragged on, and no magical message reached her.

"Could it be..." A dreadful thought crossed her mind, envisioning her young master's life slipping away, with his previous message being his final one.

Determined, Laura steeled herself. "Let's pick up the pace, mate." Fear dissipated, replaced by deep concern for Desmond's well-being.

Laura sprinted forward, determined to ignore the strange creatures scuttling beneath her feet. As she neared the end of the hallway, her eyes caught a glimpse of a figure, a shadowy presence.

"Young master!" Laura called out, her voice filled with relief and urgency.

The shadow stirred and turned towards her, revealing a pair of piercing hunter's eyes glowing with an eerie red hue. The eyes had slender, oval-shaped pupils, giving them an otherworldly appearance. The sight sent shivers down Laura's spine, reigniting her fear.

No... I can't falter now. Laura's mind raced, fighting against her trembling legs as she forced herself to continue moving forward. She stared at the creature before her, her face draining of color.

"Y...o...u...ng master?" she managed to stammer, desperately hoping that the being in front of her was the familiar young master she knew.

"Laura?" The sound of the familiar voice washed over her, bringing color back to her pale face. Laura exerted her will over the little bird, directing it to fly towards her young master.

As the bird departed, Laura squinted her eyes, attempting to discern the true form of the creature before her.

*swish*

The little bird flew past the strange being, its radiant light revealing a handsome boy with long brown hair and captivating magenta eyes. He sat cross-legged on the ground, a smile gracing his features as he gazed at her.

Relief surged through Laura's veins, infusing strength into her trembling legs. She rejoiced and immediately rushed towards her young master.

Arriving in front of him and seeing that he was unharmed, she let out a long sigh of relief.

"Take her out first," Desmond instructed, pointing in a specific direction.

Laura fought to suppress the overwhelming desire to embrace Desmond. She followed his gaze and noticed an elven woman lying on her back, her clothes torn and tattered. A scowl formed on Laura's face, her expression contorted with displeasure. She grasped the elf's collar and pulled her up.

"Young master, what have you done to her?" The question slipped out involuntarily, revealing her concern.

Realizing her own audacity, Laura paused for a moment before offering a quick apology. "Forgive my impertinence, young master." With a swift motion, she released the elf's collar, causing the elf to tumble to the ground and bow repeatedly in response.

Desmond remained silent, his astonishment evident. "No problem, I merely dispelled the spell she had cast." He provided no further explanation, implying that the elf was not a friend.

"Understood, young master." Laura absorbed his words, her gaze turning cold as she adjusted the elf's clothes and dragged her away, showing no kindness or sympathy.

Desmond, who had finished his meditation, regained his mobility and followed behind Laura as they made their way outside.

Once they reached the open air, Desmond turned and glanced back at the structure of the underground entrance. It did raise some suspicions in his mind.

"Status," he commanded, curious to assess his own condition.

The words appeared before him, projected in the air:

Desmond's thoughts swirled as he analyzed the information. "This class even enhances my energy recovery ability," he mused to himself.

Meanwhile, Laura, who had emerged from the dungeon, noticed that her young master seemed lost in thought, gazing absentmindedly at the underground entrance. Could he be considering turning it into his second bedroom? Laura wondered.

She patiently awaited Desmond's instructions, her gaze shifting between him and the elf she had been dragging. Frustration welled up within her at the sight of the voluptuous woman. "Tch! This woman with her ample bosom must have seduced the young master into some indecent act!" Laura scoffed under her breath. With a swift incantation, she conjured a chair made from the roots of a tree.

Seating herself on the chair, Laura continued dragging the elf and began stomping on her breasts with an annoyed expression. The elf's bosom flattened and bounced repeatedly under Laura's frustrated assault.

Meanwhile, Desmond, having finished examining his stats, extended his hand toward the door. A magic circle materialized, causing the door to gradually transform into an earthen structure.

Stepping back, Desmond observed the outcome of his experiment. Satisfied, he noted that although the door no longer resembled its original form, it now resembled an undecorated section of the earth wall, effectively concealing its true nature.

Turning around, Desmond's gaze fell upon Laura, who had ceased her playful actions and stood up, gripping the elf by the collar. "What is your next command, young master?" Laura smiled as if the previous incident had never occurred.

Desmond regarded her for a moment before speaking, "I remember that one of you possesses the spell of erasure. Am I correct?"

"It's Annie's spell, young master. Specifically, Annie inherited it from her family, who possesses the legacy of the Wizards," Laura promptly responded, leaving Desmond momentarily dumbfounded.

"Ah... I see," Desmond paused, his mind racing. But then why did Annie choose to pursue the path of a Swordsman instead of embracing her family's legacy? he wondered.

Sensing the confusion in Desmond's expression, Laura anticipated his thoughts. "Annie made her own choice to become a Swordsman and, in doing so, she also decided to sever ties with her family."

Laura continued, "I apologize for my impudent question, but may I ask why you desire that particular spell?" She narrowed her eyes, observing Desmond's gesture towards the elf she was holding.

"I want Annie to employ that spell on this slave. It would be a waste of my resources to simply dispose of her," Desmond responded casually, as if discussing a trivial matter.

Laura blinked in surprise. "So, young master intends to turn this elf into a maid?" she asked anxiously, secretly hoping for a different answer.

"Yes," Desmond affirmed, his nonchalant tone unsettling Laura. He added, "Is there a problem?"

"No... nothing," Laura forced a smile, though her expression betrayed her true feelings. She glanced at the elf in her grasp, her face contorting with distaste. What did this woman do to make the young master accept her as a maid?

"That will be all for my orders. I would like to take a shower first. Bring breakfast to my room as usual," Desmond instructed. He paused momentarily before adding, "And make sure to store the wine in the cellar. I've heard that aging it improves the flavor."

As Desmond prepared to depart, he halted in his steps once again. "By the way, regarding the information you wish to erase, wipe it clean and create a new persona," Desmond's words carried a gravity that sent a chill down Laura's spine, dispelling her irritation.

"Yes, young master," Laura responded, her voice trembling slightly. Crafting a new persona was an immensely challenging task, even with memory-erasing spells. But if Desmond insisted, it meant that this elf possessed information of utmost importance, perhaps regarding the whereabouts of Lady and Lord.
