The Lost Shadow War

Chapter 6: “Between Light and Shadows”

Preparing for War

At the Maramid camp, everyone rises early to prepare weapons and lay out strategies. Samir, as usual, tries to lighten the serious atmosphere.

Samir (loudly): "Did no one tell us that wars don't start early in the morning? I think I'll need a cup of coffee."

Ziyan (smiling at him): "Samir, if we lose this war because of your coffee, I'll make sure songs are written about it in the history books."

Layan (mocking): "Maybe the songs will be about you, Ziyan, and how you spent your time scolding Samir instead of making plans."

The Attack Plan

During the planning meeting, the Maramid leader, Furan, shares his vision.

Furan: "Raghib's army is strong, but it relies on its strength in the darkness. If we manage to scatter them, we'll strip them of that advantage."

Ziyan: "What about their command centers? If we take down their leaders, their organization will weaken."

Samir: "Great idea, Ziyan. But if this plan involves me jumping into the darkness, I can be a moral supporter from afar."

Furan (ignoring him): "We'll divide the forces into three groups. Ziyan, you'll lead the frontal attack."

Samir (pretending to shout): "Wait, what about moral support? No one takes my suggestions seriously."

The First Clash with Raghib's Army

As the caravan moves through the plains, forces of shadow suddenly appear, led by a new commander named Aqman.

Aqman (in a booming voice): "Ziyan! I've heard much about you, but all I see is a boy playing with grown-ups."

Ziyan (stepping forward): "And are you here to confirm it for yourself, or are you afraid of losing to a boy?"

Aqman (laughing): "We'll see soon enough who loses. Light will never guide my path."

The battle erupts:

• Ziyan engages Aqman directly, sparks flying between their weapons. Aqman wields a sword imbued with shadow energy, while Ziyan relies on the light-infused strength he has gained.

• Samir moves swiftly behind enemy lines, targeting Aqman's forces' weak points.

Samir (yelling): "Ziyan, if you could finish this quickly, I'd appreciate it. I have a nap planned later!"

Ziyan (between strikes): "Samir, if you talk more than you fight, I'll need a backup plan."

In a critical moment, Ziyan focuses his strikes on Aqman's weak points, forcing him to retreat.

Aqman (angrily): "The game isn't over yet, Ziyan. My master, Raghib, awaits in the shadows."

Ziyan: "Tell him the light is coming, and the shadows won't protect him."

While the team celebrates their temporary victory, Raghib's apparition appears in the sky.

Raghib: "Ziyan, it seems you enjoy playing with light, but light alone is not enough. Soon, I'll show you what it means to drown in darkness."

Samir (whispering to Ziyan): "Looks like he loves dramatic entrances. Maybe we should put an end to his theatrics."

Ziyan (smiling): "Samir, let's see if Raghib likes surprises when we get closer to his throne."

The team makes their way to a mountain range said to contain a gateway leading to Raghib's throne. The path is filled with traps and strange creatures.

• Creatures called Night Serpents, fast and deadly, hunt them in the dark.

• Samir devises a clever plan to evade them using light reflections.

Samir: "Sometimes, brains are better than brawn. Or maybe, I'm just better than all of you."

Layan (mocking): "Or maybe we're just letting you shine a little."

Upon reaching the gateway entrance, they are confronted by a shadow guard led by the Shadow Priest, a terrifying and complex figure.

Shadow Priest: "You will not pass here unless it's over your dead bodies. Raghib awaits, but you will never reach him."

Ziyan: "We're tired of threats. This war isn't about buying time; it's about ending it."
