The Lost Shadow War

Chapter 5: Alliances in the Wind”

To the Maramid Tribe

After the battle with Shahen, the caravan decides to head to the Maramid tribe, known for their skilled warriors and powerful magic.

Layan (cautiously): "The Maramids aren't easy allies. If you don't convince them with strength or reason, they'll see us as enemies."

Samir (jokingly): "I think reason is the solution. I'm great at talking!"

Ziyan (sarcastically): "Maybe we should send Samir first. If they're not convinced, we'll go with the original plan."

When the caravan arrives at the Maramid camp, they are greeted with a mix of caution and hostility. The tribe's leader, the elder Furan, a massive man with a long gray beard and piercing eyes, sits on a polished wooden throne.

Furan: "Who are you to dare approach the land of the Maramids?"

Ziyan: "We're here to request an alliance. Raghib threatens us all, and there's no time for old grudges."

Furan (with a mocking laugh): "Raghib, a threat? Do you know what a real threat is? Trusting people like you."

Furan refuses the alliance unless Ziyan and his companions prove their worth in a traditional trial. The trial involves facing three of the tribe's strongest warriors in a single battle.

Furan: "If you want our alliance, you must face our greatest fighters. Prove to me you are worthy of our trust."

Ziyan (confidently): "I accept the challenge."

The battle begins:

• The first fighter, a swift young man, wields twin poisoned daggers.

• The second, a giant brute, carries a massive hammer.

• The third, a sorceress, uses shadow magic to confuse her opponents.

Ziyan dodges the dagger strikes, countering with quick and precise moves. Samir supports from afar, shooting an arrow that hinders the giant's movement, allowing Ziyan to deliver a decisive blow.

Meanwhile, the sorceress engages in a mental duel with Layan, but Layan uses her wit and agility to evade the shadows and assert control over the battle.

After a fierce fight, Furan acknowledges Ziyan and his companions' strength.

Furan: "I didn't expect to see such strength and coordination among you. The Maramids are now under your banner in this war."

Ziyan: "The war won't be easy, but together, we can end Raghib's reign."

As they plan their next moves, a scout arrives with alarming news.

Scout: "Raghib's army is advancing toward us. They're destroying everything in their path."

Samir (joking despite the seriousness): "Well, Raghib has decided to beat us to it. What a terrible host!"

Ziyan: "We must act quickly. The Maramids need time to prepare. We'll lead an attack to slow his advance."

While moving toward Raghib's army, Ziyan and his companions encounter a scouting party of dark jinn led by a strange being named Akhram.

Akhram (in a deep and menacing voice): "Ziyan… you will never understand the extent of our master's power. The shadows will consume you, one by one."

The battle with Akhram highlights the strength of the dark jinn, requiring a combination of Ziyan's strength, Samir's wit, and Layan's speed to bring him down.

After defeating Akhram, Ziyan realizes that the final confrontation with Raghib is near and that their new alliances will be critical in the war.

Ziyan: "We won't let the darkness win. We will light this world no matter the cost."

Samir: "And I'll be here to make sure that light comes with a bit of humor."
