The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 294: That Is Imperial Territory

With the goodwill of the "Baron of Withered Wood Port," Kedson turned around and quickly walked toward the "shipwreck camp," instructing the half-starved sailors to pack up and prepare to relocate.

"Move quickly! Gather everything that can still be used!"

"And the usable goods in the cabin... those tools might still come in handy!"

As soon as the Imperial Soldiers appeared in this forest, the young men had curiously gathered around nearby.

Upon hearing that the captain had reached an agreement with the local nobility, they couldn't help but shed tears of excitement, secretly grateful they hadn't hung the fool who steered them into the storm at the mast, sparing his life instead.

The group quickly got busy.

They turned the cabin upside down, hauling out all the usable goods inside.

Watching the bustling figures, Ticky twirled a silver scepter with his index finger, a look of satisfaction on his face, as he winked at the black-robed servant beside him.

"Do you think I brought my role to life?"

Lumier, cloaked and hooded, glanced back at him impassively and replied blandly.

"Not bad; it would be even better if you cut out the unnecessary nonsense."

For a moment just now, he thought this guy's true nature had resurfaced, wanting to fleece money from these poor souls.

But it seems that it was just his theatrical personality acting up.

Ticky was unfazed by Lumier's suggestion, grinning to reveal a set of unusually white teeth for a pirate.

"You don't understand, that's the part that can't be omitted… If you want others to believe you're noble, first you have to do what nobles do. Do you expect me to pick my nose while hooking Captain Kedson's shoulder and asking him, 'Buddy, want a bottle of rum to calm your nerves?' He'd immediately see what kind of person I am, and wouldn't treat us as he does now."

He shook his head, explaining reasonably.

"We must suppress them with our aura, making them ponder—'What to do?,' instead of questioning us."

He would never admit that he just wanted a taste of being a noble.

Lumier's face showed a faint mocking smile, but he ignored him, merely contemplating the next strategic move.

Lord Demon King, after setting a general direction, had left the entire matter for him to handle.

For him, this was a perfect opportunity to showcase his abilities.

He had to think carefully about how to handle this task as flawlessly as possible... no time to bicker with a tool-person.

Ticky, seeing no response, laughed dryly and dropped his teasing tone, switching to a serious topic.

"But honestly—what's our goal in acting this out with them? They have less gold than us, fewer people too. If the Demon King doesn't want outsiders to know about this place, wouldn't it be simpler to just kill them all?"

Predicting he'd ask this, Lumier smiled faintly, and responded leisurely.

"It's simple, Lord Demon King needs a pawn."

"The lifting of the Great Barrier triggered a massive storm; from their description, the impact outside probably wasn't smaller than what we felt. The Imperial colony's fleet will inevitably come here to investigate, and Kedson and his sailors can send a clear signal to the Imperial colony for us—"

"The Prince is here; this place is claimed territory."

After a pause, he continued.

"Meanwhile, we can also mislead the Empire's investigation into this incident through these sailors. Lord Demon King wants outsiders to believe that the 'Great Storm' destroyed the Great Barrier, not the 'Great Barrier' causing the storm… This is crucial."

Ticky suddenly understood.

Seems legit…

He had been in the colony for years, only ever heard of a ship-swallowing sea in the Vast Ocean, never of any Great Barrier, nor what the so-called Gana Continent was.

Most people in the Empire have a blurry impression of events from a thousand years ago.

Besides, the Saint Sis Church itself is editing memories, downplaying the presence of the Dragon God and its offspring in that war, attributing all glory to Saint Sis and the Emperor. If not for seeing too many historical relics when scavenging in the Pirate Ship Tavern, he might have believed it— that Saint Sis and the Emperor overpowered the Netherworld on their own.

Thinking carefully, you could see some clues though.

The First Epoch was clearly the era ruled by the Gods of Elements, which even the Saint Sis Church admits, so how did it suddenly become a battle between Saint Sis and the Netherworld God, leading to the disappearance of Elemental Gods and the Dragon God?

Obviously, too many parts were omitted, leading to disjointed memories.

Without them voluntarily explaining everything, people outside are indeed unlikely to know the true cause of this storm.

They could even blame the unknown whereabouts of the Dragon God, and when those priests come looking, just point to the sea and say—"Over there, go find it," then sit back on the shore to watch the show.

The more Ticky thought, the more plausible it seemed.

However, although the Great Barrier issue is smoothly addressed, the "Prince is here" issue remains unresolved.

Unlike the former's grand narrative, the latter is the most immediate problem they might face.
