Chapter 2: New Life as Queen Elisabeth's Little Sister
Mina sat up in the plush bed, her petite hands clutching the crimson silk sheets as she surveyed the opulent room. Her new body felt oddly light, and the reflection in the ornate mirror across the room confirmed her worst suspicions: She was now an 1,000-year-old vampire loli, complete with porcelain skin, scarlet eyes, and silvery hair that cascaded down her back like a waterfall.
Her brows furrowed as her mind raced to piece together the situation. "So... I'm Vivienne, Queen Elisabeth's little sister. And I just woke up because Shadow did one of his ridiculous power flexes and broke reality as usual."
From the dresser, the rabbit, now wearing an even taller top hat (how was that even possible?), gave her an infuriatingly smug smile. "Not bad, kid. You're catching on quickly. Shadow's little stunt brought you out of your beauty sleep and gave you a second chance at unlife."
Vivienne shot the rabbit a glare. "First of all, stop calling me 'kid.' I'm technically 1,000 years old now. Second, what's the deal with the hat? Are you compensating for something?"
The rabbit twitched but managed to maintain its composure. "I see the curse is still in full effect. Lovely. And this hat? A sign of my undeniable status as your guide and superior, of course."
Vivienne rolled her eyes and swung her legs over the edge of the bed, only to realize they barely reached the floor. "This is ridiculous. I'm supposed to be an ageless vampire princess, and I look like a pre-teen. Is this a sick joke?"
"Hey, it's not all bad," the rabbit said, hopping down onto the nightstand. "You're in the world of The Eminence in Shadow, and your lineage gives you a massive advantage. As Queen Elisabeth's sister, you're technically vampire royalty. That comes with perks—like insane magical abilities, near-immortality, and... oh, a cool castle."
Vivienne tilted her head, processing this information. "Okay, so I have some OP vampire powers. That's a start. What's the catch?"
The rabbit grinned. "The catch is you've been asleep for centuries, and the world's moved on. The vampires in the Lawless City are still recovering from the madness Shadow cured, and your sister Elisabeth is no better than you are at the moment. She was last seen fighting Shadow, but since she was kept in a sleeping state for who knows how long, she needs time to recover like you. Oh, and the Lawless City is a mess of factions, power struggles, and dangerous lunatics."
"Of course it is," Vivienne muttered, running a hand through her hair. "So what am I supposed to do? Wait till Elizabeth recovers? Survive? Make allies? And don't say 'piss people off'—I don't plan to do that."
"Yes, yes, and yes," the rabbit said, hopping onto her shoulder with surprising grace. "Your passive skills are already at work, and you'll pick up more the more trouble you stir up. But your real goal is up to you. Reclaim your royal throne? Build your own faction? Or just survive the chaos?"
Vivienne sighed, her petite shoulders slumping. "Why couldn't I just be a normal adventurer or something? Nooo, I had to wake up as a vampire loli in the middle of a shounen-inspired conspiracy soup."
The rabbit chuckled. "Hey, it's not so bad. At least you're not some disposable mob character. You've got power, status, and a built-in excuse to drink blood without people judging you. What's not to love?"
Vivienne rolled her eyes again, then pushed herself off the bed. "Fine. If this is my second chance, I'm not wasting it. But if I run into Shadow, I'm keeping my mouth shut. The last thing I need is to accidentally provoke him."
The rabbit snorted. "Good luck with that, kid. Let's see how long you last in this crazy world. Speaking of, I suggest opening up that system of yours. I'm sure you unlocked a couple of skills already."
Vivienne straightened up, intrigued by the rabbit's suggestion. "Alright, system," she muttered. "Let's see what kind of nonsense I have to work with."
A glowing interface appeared in her mind's eye, overlaying her vision like a transparent screen. Lines of text and numbers scrolled past, displaying her current status.

The rabbit leaned over her shoulder, reading along with her. "See? You're already off to a good start. Flex Sensitivity will help you avoid—or provoke—those overpowered lunatics. And Petite Elegance? Perfect for the vampire loli aesthetic."
Vivienne groaned. "I swear, if I hear the word 'loli' one more time, I'm going to throw you into the sun."
"Noted," the rabbit said, entirely unbothered. "But you have to admit, this is a decent starting point. Blood Resonance alone makes you a force to be reckoned with. And you've got Provoker's Reward, which basically guarantees you'll keep getting stronger the more trouble you stir up."
Vivienne rubbed her temples. "Great. So I'm basically a chaos magnet. But I can't just go around pissing people off for skills—I need to have a plan."
Vivienne tilted her head, her scarlet eyes narrowing as she considered the remaing skills. "Okay," she muttered, "I'm starting to look like someone who walked out of a gothic fantasy novel. The rest of these skills are definitely tailored to make me look and act like a princess. The question is, how much of this will actually help me survive?"
The rabbit snorted from its perch on the dresser. "Oh, don't sell yourself short, kid. These are game-changers. Delicate Beauty and Royal Decree are perfect for manipulation. You can charm or command your way out of a lot of situations—assuming your brutal honesty doesn't ruin things first."
Vivienne shot the rabbit a glare but didn't bother arguing. "And Sleeping Beauty? I guess that's... useful. If I ever find time to sleep."
"Trust me, you'll appreciate it when you're running low on energy after fending off assassins or fighting Shadow's crazy entourage," the rabbit said cheerfully. "Plus, Royal Decree is practically made for someone in your position. Vampires respect power, and this makes sure everyone knows you're the boss."
Vivienne hummed thoughtfully. "Alright, fine. These aren't terrible. But I still need to figure out how to use them effectively—without getting killed in the process."
The rabbit grinned. "Well, that's the fun part, isn't it? You don't have to. They're do it for you, since they're passive. Now, let's get moving. You've got a chaotic city to conquer, and time's wasting!"
With a resigned sigh, Vivienne pushed herself off the bed, her silvery hair shimmering in the dim light. "Fine. Let's go. But if this turns into a disaster, I'm blaming you."
"Sure, sure," the rabbit replied, hopping down to follow her.
---
Vivienne walked out of her bed chamber where she found maids and butlers running around doing chores and the like. One maid saw her leaving her chamber and rushed towards her.
Vivienne raised an eyebrow as she approached, the maid's brisk stride and composed demeanor betraying none of the surprise or excitement the others seemed to show. "Anna," Vivienne said, testing the name on her tongue as fragments of this body's memories filtered into her mind. "Still as efficient as ever, I see."
Anna stopped a few paces away and offered a deep curtsy, her every movement precise and elegant. "Princess Vivienne, it is an honor to see you awake again. The castle has felt your absence keenly," her voice calm but tinged with a rare undercurrent of relief. "Your sister, Queen Elisabeth, has requested your presence immediately."
Vivienne tilted her head slightly, taking in Anna's appearance. Despite the chaos of the castle, Anna was as pristine as ever—her strawberry blonde hair neatly cascading over her shoulders, her crimson eyes as sharp and emotionless as a blade. Vivienne remembered enough about this new body to know Anna wasn't really a maid. She was more like a second shadow, always watching, always protecting. Kind of like a nanny assasin.
"Of course she does," Vivienne muttered under her breath, her tone dripping with sarcasm. She smoothed her dress—when had she gotten dressed?—and sighed. "Alright, Anna, lead the way. But first, answer me this: what exactly has my dear sister been doing while I've been catching up on centuries of beauty sleep?"
Anna hesitated, her crimson eyes briefly flickering with what might have been concern before she masked it behind her usual icy demeanor. "The Queen has been... preoccupied. Shadow's intervention in the Lawless City has destabilized many factions, and the vampires are not as united as they once were. It is imperative that you—"
"—do my duty as the little sister and help clean up the mess," Vivienne interrupted, rolling her eyes. "Got it. Let's go, then."
Anna's lips pressed into a thin line, but she inclined her head and turned to lead the way. As Vivienne followed, she couldn't help but marvel at how effortlessly Anna navigated the chaos of the castle. Despite the bustling maids and butlers, Anna moved with an almost unnatural grace, as though the world itself bent to accommodate her.
"You've changed, Princess," Anna said suddenly, her voice low enough that only Vivienne could hear. "You seem... sharper."
Vivienne smirked, her petite frame radiating an almost regal confidence. "Maybe centuries of sleep did me some good," she said lightly. "Or maybe I'm just tired of caring how other people thought."
Anna glanced back at her, and for a fleeting moment, Vivienne thought she saw the ghost of a smile on the maid's lips. But it was gone as quickly as it had appeared, replaced by her usual cold professionalism.
As Vivienne followed Anna through the bustling hallways, a soft chime echoed in her mind, and the system screen flickered to life.

[Passive Skill Unlocked: Ice Breaker]
Your unfiltered honesty and unexpected wit have a disarming effect on even the coldest individuals. Slightly increases rapport with stoic or reserved characters, making them more likely to open up to you. Effectiveness doubles when the subject is caught off guard.
---
Vivienne blinked, then let out a dry chuckle. "Ice Breaker, huh? I guess the universe really wants me to keep running my mouth."
Anna glanced back, her sharp crimson eyes narrowing slightly. "Did you say something, Princess?"
"Oh, nothing," Vivienne said with an innocent smile. "Just marveling at how charming I've become since waking up."
Anna's gaze lingered for a moment before she turned away, her expression as frosty as ever. But Vivienne noticed a slight twitch at the corner of her lips—barely perceptible, but there nonetheless.
"Well, at least it's working," Vivienne muttered under her breath, a sly grin tugging at her own lips as they reached Elisabeth's chambers.
As they approached the grand double doors leading to Elisabeth's chambers, Vivienne straightened her posture and adjusted the metaphorical crown on her head. Whatever chaos awaited her inside, she was ready—or so she told herself.
The moment the grand double doors opened, Vivienne was surprised that the moment Anna announced Vivienne, she was tackled to the ground. Anna and one other, presumably Mary, sighed heavily. Startled by the two mounds in her face, she barely heard the, "Sister I missed you."
As Vivienne struggled to breathe under the weight of Elisabeth's sudden embrace—though "smothering" was more accurate—the system chimed once again, and a new notification appeared in her mind.

[Passive Skill Unlocked: Loved by Older Women]
You possess an inexplicable charm that endears you to older female figures. Increases their affection and willingness to protect or assist you, often leading to unintentional displays of over-enthusiasm. Effectiveness doubles in emotionally charged situations.
---
Vivienne groaned internally, her muffled voice barely audible beneath her sister's overwhelming embrace. "Elisabeth... get off... I can't breathe!"
Elisabeth, with her radiant crimson eyes and flowing crimson hair, looked down at Vivienne with tears brimming in her eyes. "But I missed you so much, Vivienne! It's been centuries since I've seen you awake. You were always so adorable!"
Anna and Mary, standing off to the side, exchanged weary glances. Anna pinched the bridge of her nose while Mary, Elisabeth's personal maid, muttered under her breath, "This is why she's impossible to manage sometimes."
Vivienne managed to squirm free enough to prop herself up on her elbows, glaring up at her sister. "Adorable or not, you're going to kill me again if you don't let me breathe!"
Elisabeth gasped and immediately released Vivienne, helping her sit up with an apologetic expression. "Oh, I'm so sorry! I just couldn't help myself. You've been asleep for so long, and now that you're awake, I just—" She clapped her hands together, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "We have so much to catch up on!"
Vivienne dusted herself off and shot her sister a deadpan look. "Sure, let's start with not tackling me to the ground like a crazed fangirl."
Elisabeth pouted, her lower lip trembling ever so slightly. "You're so mean, Vivienne. I was just happy to see you!"
The rabbit, perched on Vivienne's shoulder, whispered smugly into her ear. "That passive skill is already doing work. You've got her wrapped around your finger."
Vivienne gave the rabbit a subtle swat, muttering, "Not helping." She then turned back to Elisabeth, sighing as she straightened up. "Fine, I get it. You're excited. But can we maybe take things one step at a time? Like, I don't know, figuring out why this city is a powder keg waiting to explode?"
Elisabeth's expression sobered slightly, and she gave a small nod. "You're right. There's a lot going on, and your timing couldn't be more perfect. We'll discuss everything over tea."
Vivienne glanced over at Anna and Mary, both of whom looked like they'd seen this routine play out a thousand times. "Tea sounds great," she said dryly. "As long as no one tries to suffocate me again."
As Elisabeth led the way to a cozy sitting area within her chambers, Vivienne couldn't help but wonder how much chaos awaited her in the coming days. One thing was certain, though: if she kept unlocking passive skills like this, surviving might be more entertaining than she'd anticipated.
