Chapter 930: Departing Words - 930
The Omniverse continued to grow infinitely. With a hundred infinitely sized Multiverses, its scale could not even be imagined. These projects were on scales that required the collaboration of millions of beings above the Immortal Emperor realm. But such beings were plentiful at this point. There were thousands of High Immortals and hundreds of millions of Chaos Immortals.
Zhou Fan could feel the beckoning of the realm above the Deity realm.
He could also feel the beckoning of the end coming.
There was nothing more he could do here, within existence. He may be the only cultivator at the Deity realm, but plenty were fast approaching it.
With countless beings being born, and countless talents arriving, existence was all set without him.
Well, there was one thing he could do for them. He could breach the future realms of cultivation. This was his ultimate purpose in life, since the very moment he had been truly born, when that lightning strike had hit him on that fateful day. If that lightning strike had hit a meter away instead, there would be no Zhou Fan, and there would be no Universe like this. There would be no infinite expansion, and limitless cultivation. He had created it all.
He felt proud looking at the endless expanse which he had given birth to.
The countless beings he felt infinite pride in.
Ye Li, a man born on a mortal world, different from all others. His path was one of the most powerful and fundamental throughout heaven and earth.
His strength was second only to Zhou Fan's.
Lu Jue, a man only born recently to Zhou Fan. He had grown during a time when Zhou Fan had been sealed, and he alone had ripped Ye Li off the pedestal of supremacy.
The Buddha, who had come from a time period with no cultivators. Zhou Fan had brought him through time to vent his infinite potential that had been wasted without being able to forge his own path. His endurance and will was the very reason Lu Jue had been born.
Ying Xiong, a man whose talent was infinite, who carried the torch of humanity for countless years. Lu Jue was that beacon now, but if trouble came, Ying Xiong would be the first to answer it for the sake of humanity.
Hun Luan and Hun Wu, two beings with infinite talent, the combination of which had almost destroyed existence.
The Grand Empyrean, the God of Death, the bird, the fish, all come from a time when path Creators were rather sparse. Each one still a major force to this day, especially the fish that controlled the river of time.
The King of Massacre, whose talent still shone to this day. The Demon King. The Path Creator of Despair. The Path Creator of Illusion. The Mother of Humanity. All ancient beings.
Heaven, someone partially considered his child. A being who had never disappointed Zhou Fan.
Yhwh, a being with immense talent once considered second only to Ye Li. Yoha, the creator of the angel race and someone Zhou Fan had guided.
Even the dead, Yao Mun, who had survived and endured more than any being throughout history. Pangu, who had once dared shatter the Heavens. His disciple Zhu Yi, who had brought Zhou Fan back from the brink of death. Anna, the ruler of the Celestials. His pets, Xiaolong, Xuan Wu, Hang Lu, Bainu, and Zhuque. The Dragon King. Jack, the Merman.
The animals at the manor.
Tian Ren, the first Heavenborn. Tian Fu, once Guang Fu, his successor. Bi Chong, an enemy of the heavens.
Lu Zhong and Feng Liu, once considered his niece and nephew, as well as some of the first members of the Cosmic Sect.
Hei Ren, another one of his disciples.
Lin Zhenwu, the king of the destruction race.
Lu Wei, someone he was very fond of.
Progenitor Ke, someone who pioneered a different path in the Nascent soul realm.
The Chaos Beast, born as a result of his fight with the Cosmic Dao.
Countless other beings he had met along the way. Even his own incarnation, Skymender, a part of his life that still affected the way he thought and acted, despite being such a short and small period of time.
He had forged his own path gloriously, and while doing so, had led the Universe to a point where it looked like this. An Omniverse still growing and with infinite potential.
He had intended for Hun Luan to take the throne as the overseer of this Universe he had sat on for so long, but he hadn't been enough.
There was only one person Zhou Fan could trust to keep existence safe. Someone who could intervene and protect existence in case another situation like Hun Wu's transformation occurred. The most powerful being in the Universe besides Zhou Fan.
The being most important to him.
Leaf.
Leaf seemed to be able to sense Zhou Fan's intentions and shook with worry.
Zhou Fan stood up and looked at Leaf.
"It is time for me to go, Leaf."
Leaf seemed to tear up at his words.
Zhou Fan merely smiled. "This is not a goodbye. I will come back for you eventually. Don't act like I'm someone that can die. Besides, you can feel my heart can't you?"
Leaf nodded. Zhou Fan put his hands on Leaf's bark and closed his eyes.
They sat like that for a moment.
"I need you to protect my creation while I'm gone, Leaf. At least until I come back to retrieve you. I have a hint of where my fate takes me, and I can say that no matter what, I will survive."
Zhou Fan turned and looked at Monty. "Keep him company."
Monty nodded solemnly, also sad to see Zhou Fan go.
Zhou Fan looked at Leaf with joy as he spoke some parting words. "It is finally time to fulfill my destiny, Leaf. Do not feel sad. Be filled with joy for me. Goodbye, my son."
