The Extra's Reincarnation

Chapter 37: Trinity (2)

Only thirty seconds... was that all I had left?

The system didn't state it, but I felt like my body was operating at its peak, despite my physical condition.

I wasn't sure how or why this was happening, but all the events leading up to this moment felt destined, like fate had brought me here.

My body was heating, my legs restless.

But I couldn't ask for anything more.

The information, the adrenaline, the rush—I felt like I could do anything.

I glanced back at the carriage and saw it moving away.

"RAHHHHHHH! YOU MADE FOOD GO AWAY, SO I EAT YOU!" the monster roared.

He could speak with clear human speech. Is that what I think it is? I wondered. Is he a mix of the demonic and mutator serum?

His appearance confirmed my suspicions: a human face, demonic horns, and fur covering his massive body. He was clearly some kind of giant.

But there was no time for speculation. I had to eliminate him now.

**

Julian's eyes glowed bright blue, and the surrounding mana swirled around him in perfect harmony.

He saw strange creatures, some glowing, others with an almost mystical aura.

-Those ancient spirits are quick to show up to these events...

-The Primordial Spirit of Wind is present; that may be the reason.

-I doubt it... the ancient spirits say the boy's presence is familiar.

-We haven't been around long enough to know. He might be special. But just like Grand Eurus said, he can't see spirits.

-That is true. But why is he staring at us like he can see us?

-I wonder...

"It has to be the Trinity trait..." Julian muttered, shaking his head.

Bonrick's upper left arm was missing, a fact He only noticed when he looked back.

Julian realised that an attack had cauterized the wound, preventing anymore regeneration.

"You... food..." Bonrick growled.

He took a step closer, then lunged forward with surprising speed.

BOOM!

Julian, seeing Bonrick move, reacted instantly.

In his enhanced vision, Bonrick seemed to move in slow motion.

-Is he really that slow? It doesn't matter anyway... he'll be a problem if I can't win within 26 seconds.

Mana surged through his right arm, creating an outer layer of energy that enveloped his fist. Just as Bonrick realized he had missed...

BAM!

Despite missing with his fist, Julian's mana blast extended out, hitting Bonrick's stomach and launching the giant into the air.

-24 Seconds...

He muttered, looking at Bonrick.

Strength.

Everyone wants it.

But Julian?

He had it in spades.

More than any man had a right to.

And those who envied him, those who sought of such a power?

He will crush all that opposes him, not with malice, but with a kind of weary pity.

As if to say, 'You poor fools. You'll never understand.'

I'm just an extra...

THUD...

Bonrick crashed to the floor, and Julian backed away, observing Bonrick's reactions.

But the urge to move, to keep fighting was overwhelming.

Each second spent is a waste of this special trait.

Bonrick watched Julian's body, then just a slight movement within his legs and he vanished from his sight.

WHOOSH!

In an instant, Julian reappeared right in front of him with a mana-enveloped fist cocked back.

Like David and Goliath, they stood head to head, ready to exchange blows.

Bonrick twisted his body, clenching his right hand. Julian mirrored him with his left.

BOOM!

Their fists collided, creating a massive gust of wind that blew through the forest.

With overwhelming strength, Julian shattered Bonrick's fist, popping his shoulder out of its socket.

AH!!!

Bonrick clutched his injured shoulder while Julian showed no mercy, continuing his relentless barrage.

BOOM...BOOM...BOOM...

Each strike landed with concussive force, battering Bonrick's flesh.

The giant's regeneration struggled to keep pace, and the wounds reopened with every blow.

BOOM!

Another strike of mana caught Bonrick to the chest, and just as Julian stopped for a moment, Bonrick saw an opening.

GAH!

Trying to gain distance, he swung his broken fist toward Julian's face.

However, Julian ducked under the attack.

Another opening...

Julian's eyes focused on Bonrick's exposed stomach and with another mana-infused punch, his fist connected once more.

SHAAAAAA!

A burst of energy sent the giant to his knees and both his arms, ravaged by Ezekiel's previous attack and Julian's relentless assault, were beyond repair.

Bonrick was a monster, broken and defeated.

"Hungry... need... to eat..." he gurgled, desperately trying to move.

14 seconds...

Bonrick felt paralyzed, yet his heart continued to beat.

Watching closely, Julian saw energy flowing towards Bonrick's heart.

Though the vessels were perfectly clear, he couldn't distinguish the two energies flowing within.

"What is that?"

He saw red, blue, and then purple.

"Oh shit!"

As soon as he realised what that purple meant, there came a second delay of energy that erupted through Bonrick's bloodstream.

A malicious and vile energy began to sprout and emit within the core streams of Bonrick's body, reawakening him with glowing red eyes.

"NO... YOU NO WIN... ME WIN!!"

Bonrick, on his knees, had a surge of power erupted from his mutated body.

The demonic like energy leaked out from his skin and rushed straight to the horn on his forehead.

What's that?!

Julian, who could see the entire process through his eyes, tried to react, but it was too late.

A sphere filled with demonic energy was created from the tip of Bonrick's horn.

SHAAAAAA!

Then a ray of demonic energy shot in a singular beam, aimed at Julian.

BOOM!!!

Julian leaped skyward, escaping the devastating blast.

He soared through the air, but Bonrick only smiled, seeing that Julian had been caught.

"MEAT!"

Bonrick lifted his head, aiming the beam that crossed through the sky, creating an arching beam that rose towards Julian.

Damn it!

Julian didn't know what to do as the world slowed down.

He was in the sky, and he had no movement to clear his way. The only option he had were to come up with an attack of his own.
