The Exorcism Began in America.

Chapter 127 Investigation

"Scaring others, taking their tongues while they scream in terror, and then turning them into dolls."

"Am I right, Mary Shaw?" Chu Feng said to the empty hallway.

"Mr. Exorcist, I detest overly clever humans!" Mary Shaw's tone was somewhat dark, as if she were recalling some unpleasant memories.

"Actually, I still have some questions. For instance, with your strength, you could easily take human lives. So why do you insist on following this bizarre rule of making people scream?"

The Billy puppet, having reappeared in the gift box, didn't answer but simply opened its mouth wide and let out a harsh, unpleasant laugh before abruptly stopping.

"My master is gone? Then Billy must follow my master!"

The puppet's voice suddenly returned to its original tone.

"'Gone?'" Seeing the other party dodge his question and simply leave, Chu Feng had a guess.

Rules...

As Mary Shaw's consciousness returned, the puppet Billy's body instantly dissipated, and a cowboy doll appeared in the gift box.

The previously thick and bizarre atmosphere that had permeated the area also vanished without a trace.

"WHIMPER. WHIMPER."

"I'm sorry, I almost forgot you two!" Hearing the sobbing behind him, Chu Feng remembered Gordon and Mia, and Lia, who had somehow fallen asleep in her mother's arms.

With a thought, Chu Feng's Telekinesis immediately released their mouths.

"Mr. Chu Feng, that Bizarre entity...is it gone?" Gordon cautiously asked, glancing at the gift box on the floor.

"Don't worry, it's gone!" Chu Feng nodded.

"Phew... Thank God!" Gordon and Mia sighed in relief, both instantly relaxing.

"By the way, I have something to ask you two!" Seeing the relieved pair, Chu Feng gently shook his head.

"Why did you move here?"

Hearing Chu Feng's question, Gordon and Mia looked at each other almost simultaneously.

"It was Gordon's idea."

"It was Mia's idea."

Both stared at their spouse with wide eyes, shocked by the other's words.

"How is that possible?"

"How is that possible?"

"Stop, stop, stop... You don't have to continue. I know what's going on!" Chu Feng directly interrupted the husband and wife, who were speaking in unison. If they continued, their relationship would likely suffer.

"It seems you were both deceived by Annabelle. It was the one that wanted to leave, not you..."

As Chu Feng finished speaking, an idea instantly flashed across his mind.

Annabelle must be hiding from Mary Shaw!

Suppressing the thought, Chu Feng looked again at Gordon and his wife.

"Alright, you two, it's time for me to go! One last piece of advice: in an era where Bizarre entities are resurgent, being fond of dolls is really not a good hobby!"

Having said that, Chu Feng waved to Gordon and Mia, sheathed his longsword, and turned to walk downstairs.

Behind him, the bewildered couple almost simultaneously turned their eyes to the cowboy puppet on the floor.

"Mia, I suggest we heed Mr. Chu Feng's advice. Let me throw it away!"

Mia's face was filled with dismay; she had never thought her lifelong hobby would cause so much trouble.

"Alright, Gordon!"

Mia, her expression tinged with desolation, held her daughter and turned to walk back into their home.

At the foot of the apartment building, the scene of devastation from the battle with the demon caused Chu Feng, who had just come downstairs, to twitch his eyelid slightly.

He stepped over the pile of rubble on the sidewalk and quickly headed toward the street corner where Holman had disappeared.

Atop the building across from the apartment, a shadowy figure hidden in the darkness by the curtains had witnessed Chu Feng's entire departure.

"He's become stronger!" When Chu Feng's silhouette was no longer visible, the figure turned to look at the blond man sitting on the sofa behind him.

"How can there be such an inconceivable person among humans! Can he actually enhance his strength just by breathing?"

"The Church's decision to come to New York was a mistake from the start. It's too close to that man!"

Upon hearing his companion's endless complaints, the blond man let out a faint chuckle.

"Not choose this place? Would you rather compete with those heretics from the Holy Advent Society for territory? Have you forgotten their warning in Texas?"

The shadowy figure by the window shook its head.

"As long as I'm not facing that monster, Chu Feng, I'd rather target the Holy Advent Society! At least I have some understanding of their strength."

The blond man shrugged. "I suppose you can make that suggestion to the Bishop when you report back."

The shadowy figure fell silent for a moment. "Lady Annabelle has already returned to the embrace of the Morning Star. We should think about how to explain ourselves to the Bishop when we return!"

The smile gradually faded from the blond man's face at the thought of returning.

"FUCK, damn that Chu Feng."

In the Queens district of New York, inside Chu Feng's Exorcism Agency office.

"Boris, I just sent you two names and portraits. Help me check if there are any cases related to them."

On the other end of the phone, Boris was sitting in his office. He put down the coffee cup he had just picked up and brought his phone closer to check Chu Feng's message.

"Mary Shaw? Billy? Who are they? This Billy looks like a puppet. Chu Feng, your drawing skills really aren't that great!"

Boris's teasing made Chu Feng glance at the two pieces of white paper beside him and shake his head in resignation.

"Everyone's talents differ, and yes, that is indeed a puppet. Just hurry up and check for me! That's all, hanging up."

After hanging up, Chu Feng picked up the two pieces of white paper from the desk and frowned at them.

Is it really that abstract?

Then he crumpled the two papers into a ball and tossed them casually into the wastebasket.

After a short while, Chu Feng's phone suddenly started vibrating.

BUZZ. BUZZ. BUZZ.

Chu Feng, who was somewhat dozing off, grabbed his phone from the table and immediately felt more alert, thinking to himself.

So efficient? Results already?

Sitting up, he swiped his right index finger lightly across the phone screen.

"Boris, what are the results?"

On the other end, Boris, looking at his computer screen and moving his mouse, subconsciously shook his head and said with a frown, "Nothing special. The few records in the system that mention the name Mary Shaw mostly come from Ravens Town in Maine."

While speaking, Boris casually clicked on a record.

"This record is about a man named John. He called the police claiming a Bizarre entity named Mary Shaw was chasing him. However, when the police finally found him a few days later, he flatly denied it."

Then, Boris clicked on several more records one after the other, but their contents were strikingly similar.
