Chapter 104: Trio Squad
"Phew! Finally killed that one!"
Watching the massive Demon's body slowly turn to ash on the ground, Chu Feng let out a long, turbid breath.
"DING! Congratulations, Host. You have killed a Demon. You will receive the following rewards:
1. Strength Attribute: 41 points, Physique Attribute: 43 points, Mental Attribute: 30 points, Spiritual Power Attribute: 45 points
2. Lifespan: 45 years
3. Spirit-binding Chain
After casually allocating all the Attribute Points, Chu Feng flipped his palm, and a silver-white chain inscribed with mysterious runes instantaneously appeared in his hand.
The heavy rain showed no sign of stopping. Raindrops falling from the sky pattered loudly against the layer of golden light covering Chu Feng's body.
A silver-white chain instantly broke through the curtain of rain. Under the control of Chu Feng's thoughts, it quickly swirled above his head, forming the shape of a silver umbrella.
"What a great item!"
Holding one end of the chain, he slowly channeled Spiritual Power from his body to maintain the chain's current form. He glanced at the silver umbrella above his head, a smile touching his eyes.
After experimenting with the Spirit-binding Chain, Chu Feng retracted it into his Storage Space. With a flick of his long knife, a few raindrops flew from its tip into the muddy ground.
Looking up at the Gate of Breaking Boundary still operating in the distance, Chu Feng's figure instantaneously vanished.
THUD! After a heavy landing, Chu Feng, reappearing beside the wall of corpses, leaped high. A breath later, he landed elegantly within the great formation.
"Mm, just as I expected!"
The scene inside the great formation was almost identical to that of the Gate of Breaking Boundary he had encountered two days prior. This time, Chu Feng didn't need to search for the Rune.
He immediately focused on the familiar Rune in midair and dashed forward.
In an instant, Chu Feng reappeared above the huge Rune. The long knife in his hand flashed red, ready to unleash searing energy at any moment.
Unbeknownst to him, the lightning had already vanished from the black hole in the sky.
A Demon had just poked its head—a massive, horned skull—out of the black hole, instantly spotting Chu Feng, who was in free fall.
"Stop right there!"
The Demon's cry of alarm, however, did not affect Chu Feng's actions. The long knife in his hand didn't tremble in the slightest.
"Berserk!"
A tremendous, surging strength instantly filled Chu Feng's entire body.
The already crimson blade of the long knife viciously collided with the surface of the huge Rune in the blink of an eye.
CRACK! After the crisp sound, the entire massive Rune instantly burst apart.
Amidst the scattering fragments, a slender, golden-glowing hand appeared directly at the core of the huge Rune, grabbing a palm-sized Stone Rune.
Chu Feng, having landed once more, didn't pause. Still holding the Rune, he immediately turned and ran towards the outside of the great formation.
"Damn it! Come back here!"
The Demon, having just struggled out of the black hole, hadn't even had time to rest before it witnessed this horrifying scene.
With a fierce flap of its slightly damaged bat wings, the massive Demon shot towards Chu Feng like an arrow unleashed from a bow.
Unfortunately for the Demon, Chu Feng was too quick. The Demon had just begun to move when Chu Feng had already reappeared above the wall of corpses.
Another crisp SNAP sounded. As Chu Feng broke away from the wall of corpses, his right hand clenched tightly, pulverizing two-thirds of the Stone Rune into dust.
"No~!" In the Demon's desperate cry, while it was still mid-air, everything around it instantly froze.
Chu Feng, who was prepared, wrenched his body free. Stepping on the corpse wall that was just beginning to collapse, he charged out.
The Demon in mid-air, however, no longer had that ability!
Having just emerged, the Demon was too close to the black hole above its head. The suppressive force in that location was something it simply couldn't break free from with its own power.
The Demon could only watch in despair as the culprit escaped, its eyes filling with a deathly ashiness.
"Damn it..."
The next second, the diameter of the black hole in the sky finally began to shrink slowly. A suction force, like that of a vacuum, affected all surrounding objects.
The Demon, being closest, naturally couldn't resist the powerful suction. Its large, strong demonic body quickly disappeared into the black hole, which resembled the maw of the Grim Reaper.
Outside the park gates, Chu Feng, barely able to stand steady, looked back.
He saw countless withered trees and park facilities slowly beginning to lift off the ground, drawn by the tremendous force towards the black hole in mid-air.
Within the suction's range, not even the falling raindrops or the vast swathes of dark clouds could escape.
Looking at the raindrops being sucked skyward and the funnel-shaped clouds, and feeling the gradually increasing suction nearby, Chu Feng knew he couldn't linger.
Turning, he sprinted towards where the off-road vehicle was parked.
A few minutes later, the pulling force behind Chu Feng had become almost negligible. Seeing the off-road vehicle just a stone's throw away, he finally slowed his pace.
He got into the car, started the ignition, and cranked the steering wheel hard. The off-road vehicle quickly turned around, leaving this place of trouble.
...
BOOM!
Chu Feng had just driven past a car accident when a loud gunshot suddenly rang in his ears.
Chu Feng, currently in a good mood, was intrigued. He looked up at the now-clear sky, pulled the car over to the side of the road, got out, and headed in the direction of the gunshot to investigate.
"Hey, Skunk, go check if that damned Evil Spirit is still alive."
"Get lost! With just that shotgun in your hand? Even with your staff, you couldn't possibly kill an Evil Spirit!"
"If you guys could help, I'd actually like to give it a try...," a Caucasian man on the road said. Dressed in a gray-green National Guard Combat Suit and holding a shotgun, he licked his lips while looking towards the people behind a nearby car.
"Perfect, there's an Evil Spirit right here. Puma, Skunk and I will cover you. Go for it!"
Another man, also in a gray-green Combat Suit and wearing sunglasses, looking rather flashy, gave a wicked smile and glanced at his companion.
"Make sure you throw your Crystal right, Shell!" the Caucasian man known as Puma snorted in reply.
"Puma, I think I've told you many times, please call me Iron Man!" The man speaking lifted his head and seriously reminded Puma once more of the codename he had repeated countless times.
The man, holding no weapon but only a bag from which he kept tossing finger-sized Crystals onto the ground, wore a very serious expression.
"Alright, Shell, I'll remember that!"
...
Not far away, Skunk, who was observing the Evil Spirit, suddenly grabbed his Knight's Sword and ran shouting towards the other two.
"The Crystals are ineffective! Shell, are you done yet?"
"Just in time! Quick, bring it over."
