Chapter 308: A Surprising Addition
"I need to go see Lucy Fer." I declared once I was done with the meals. Theo said nothing for a while and merely continued his meal, not the reaction I expected.
'I guess that settles it.' I was starting to feel my energy getting replenished. I got up, and approached the door to the sitting room.
"Good luck Sir Luke, I pray you find her." Theo said. A weak smile crept up on my face at that moment.
'Grand Teleportation.' I announced and a bright light encapsulated me, ripping me away from the surrounding, and thrusting me at the royal capital, just between the sad markets and the ruin of a palace.
"I hope I'm not too late."
I ran into the palace, and got to the throne room where I expected Francis would be, and likely Lucy Fer.
I met Francis, and his secretary Lizbella, but Lucy Fer was nowhere. I turned frantically, afraid that I had missed her and would not see her again.
She still was no where around the throne room, but I did see some other person, this one I had not expected. It was Park, asleep on a bed. He was naked and riddled with many scars. I was taken aback by this, and equally shocked.
I turned dramatically to Francis, with my face clearly holding surprise.
"Lucy brought him here. I suppose he holds a debt to her." Francis spoke.
"And Caleb?"
Francis shook his head to my question.
"When was Lucy here?"
"About three days ago. She claimed she had to go for an artifact in an extremely dangerous dungeon she had previously given up upon. But she needs to up our chances of survival so she's gonna to give it one more try. Hopefully she'll get it before the end of this world."
My face was squeezed at this statement, and I realized why. It wasn't because of Lucy's absence or being too late to have gone with her, it was him, Francis.
"What have you been up to while we were away? You seem too calm for one certain that this world would end quite soon."
"I know when a battle is lost Mike, but…" He struck the sides of his throne, and stood.
"–We have to try, that way, we won't simply be animals taken away for slaughter."
He walked to Park, and upon getting to the boy's side, he ran his hands through his head affectionately.
"Do you know that he was the number one player before all this happened?"
"I had no idea."
"I see. I hate to see such potential be vanquished so soon. He would have been the strongest of us."
"Did Lucy tell you where this dungeon is?"
Francis turned to me and walked away from the bed, heading back to his throne. He turned and sat on it. When I met his eyes while he was up there, I got a glint of despair in them. Francis was greatly afraid, though he hid it quite well. If not for my senses, I likely wouldn't have noticed.
'You are right to be afraid. I am too.'
"I met with some ambassadors of the Eastern Theocracy. I'm optimistic about what an alliance between us two would bring. A small part of their military would arrive here in the next two days, that and supplies. Hopefully, that will ease things up a little."
I simply nodded, that would ease things up at least, and perhaps give the people hope.
"I will stay here until Lucy comes back or the Dragon Lords." Francis smiled at my statement.

"The Hellish Dark Blade would be especially fitting for slaughtering dragon lords. Perhaps their souls would be sent to hell as they ought to." I muttered to myself, but then chuckled, knowing that I'm hardly better than they were, I have murdered people as well.
Yet, I summoned it. The large chunk of black thing oozed evil miasma. I swung my body alongside it.
"Maybe I should stick to the toys I'm used to." Immediately I uttered those words, I noticed something at the corner of my peripheral vision. It hid behind a pillar, peeking at me, it wasn't aware that I had noticed its presence already.
I held the sword vertically on the ground, pondering on my next move, and what this obscure mass of blackness might be.
I activated <Immersion>, and with it, I was able to feel what it was without turning to check it out.
'A Dark Spawn?' It had been ages since I last saw one that I was surprised by the mere presence of another.
'What do they want, and who do they report to?' I grew annoyed with this. I wanted answers, and I would get them.
I swiftly turned, held out my right arm.
"Gravity Press x15"
A powerful gravitational force collapsed on the writhing mass of blackness, and it crashed on the ground instantly.
"Guuek." It pressed against the floor like an insect pinned on a wall. I walked to the strange thing, my arms crossed, and my brows furrowed.
"What do you hope to gain by spying on me?"
It didn't respond. My face contorted further in annoyance. I knew it was intelligent and could answer my question if it wanted to.
"Perhaps, I should up the force against you. Gravity x30."
"GUEEK!" It screamed, its body pressing down to a gooey slimy thing, its form getting undone.
"Rest it easy Dreamer."
I froze upon hearing the voice. A third person.
