Chapter 307: Away
The ambassadors left soon after the handshake, and it was just I, Drius and Theo in the sitting room. There was an awkward silence between us, until Theo chose to break the ice.
"How are you feeling Sir Luke?" Theo questioned which broke me away from my mild trance.
"Lucy Fer, where is she? She was with me. She was the one who brought me here, right?"
Theo simply stood up after my rush of questions, I watched him slowly get up and walked to one of the large windows through the house. He gazed through it, his hands held behind his back as if he was in deep ponder.
I was patient, and I fought to be still and calm.
'It was definitely Lucy Fer, I couldn't have missed it. She saved me, she is still alive.' I was hoping greatly that she was alive, and if there was anyone aside me that lived, then chances were that it was Lucy, I wanted to be sure of it.
I gripped the edge of the seat, my fingers digging into the feathers. Drius was a little unsettled by this, I guessed that it was probably because he had never seen me this way.
"Is she gone?" I said the words slowly, almost like they were too heavy to leave my mouth.
Theo inhaled deeply, and then turned to me, "Yes, Lady Lucy Fer was the one who brought you here, and we are glad that you two made it back alive despite the hard tribulations you two clearly went through."
I let out a sigh of relief there, and sank further into the chair. I was happy, at least she hadn't fallen into the jaws of the dragon god, there was still hope.
"How was she when she brought me? Was she well?" I inquired.
"She looked worse than you did surprisingly, yet she still stood. She is one hell of a woman. She mentioned that she had to go back to the Royal Capital. I tried to talk her off it, especially with the presence of those bandits who have taken over it."
'Bandits? He means the alliance. At least that implies that she didn't head into battle right away.'
"Are you truly well Sir Luke?"
"Yes yes…" I was interrupted by a loud rumbling of my belly–it was telling me of how incredibly empty it was.
"Those days, and healing those wounds would have required lots of energy. You need to replenish your strength."
I couldn't argue against that logic. I was incredibly hungry, the only thing I felt greater than that at that time was my worry over Lucy.
Theo raised his arms with a noble's poise, and clapped in a rhythm. Next, came open the door between the dining room and the sitting room, and from it came a woman. It was like she sprouted from the door with the haste to which she arrived.
She curtsied to I and Theo, and awaited commands.
"Get your most delicious meals to Sir Luke. I know you all are aware of how he was in bed for days. Now that he is up, get him your very best meals."
The lady nodded, and turned away. With my heightened senses–a minute after the lady left, I heard the movement of kitchen utensils and the sharpening of knives. They moved so well that the sound of what they did was muted, that or the room reduced the amount of sound that gets to the next.
"Who were those two ambassadors? And what was it they were interested in?"
Theo sitting on the largest chair in the room looked up at Drius, then he leaned forward.
"They are envoys from the Eastern Theocracy, from her priests and priestess. The rumours are true, they did take on dragon lords and stood with just little damage. Heck, a large number of the dragon kin died in that battle. I wasn't told of how, but I am certain about this, the eastern theocracy will be crucial in the battle against the dragon god."
"Hmmm…" I sounded and then nodded. I smirked seeing the look on his face. The boy was incredibly nervous, but he still seemed quite well, he was handling this situation very very well, as any good duke would.
"The Priestess wants an alliance, and she's also quite mad that we had let them fester in our kingdom."

"An alliance. That's good news, we need to have strong partners to survive this onslaught. If the Eastern Theocracy fended off a march that included the dragon lords, then they must be quite the force to be reckoned with. That's insane in a way. Whatever happens, you have to make this alliance viable and also as soon as possible. You're the closest to the throne, you know?"
Theo simply nodded.
Ten minutes after the maid left, a group of young women came bustling through the door, bringing a wooden table that held fruits and a sweet dish of the Lyma region, quite the good stuff.
I dug in soon as the maids left, eating incessantly, and gulping down everything that I could get my mouth into. I accidentally crushed some fruits over my hunger.
I relished in the multitude of dishes brought my way. I must say, only the feeling of sex, and winning a close battle surpassed what I felt in that moment. Clearly my great hunger played in it, but it was like I had ambrosia in that moment that I began crying.
'I do not want to die.'
I did not want to die, but seeing the deaths of my teammates play on my head did nothing to abate my worries. I looked through my system hoping for something that might ease things up, but nothing came.
I needed to push away my feelings and do what needed to be done. I needed to kill the dragon god, the dragon lords , and their soldiers. All these felt overwhelming, I wished to be sent back to Earth, and try my chances with the zombies.
"I need to go see Lucy Fer."
