THE DESCENT OF EVIL GODS

Chapter 6: Preparing for the Storm

Su Chen closed the ancient book, his fingers trembling slightly as the weight of its words settled over him. Billions of gods. The thought alone was enough to crush the will of any ordinary person.

But Su Chen was no ordinary person.

His past life had ended in tragedy because he hadn't been strong enough. This time, he wouldn't make the same mistake.

His path was clear. He had to make Huaxia stronger.

A New Plan

He returned to the conference hall where Huaxia's top officials were still in deep discussion over the upcoming war. They had finally accepted the truth, but their faces were filled with uncertainty.

When he walked in, the President of Huaxia looked up.

"You're back," the old man said, observing Su Chen's expression. "You look like you've seen a ghost."

Su Chen placed the ancient book on the table. "I found something," he said. "Something that changes everything."

The officials leaned in, curiosity and concern mixing on their faces.

"I thought we were preparing to fight against thousands of gods," Su Chen said, his voice even. "But I was wrong. There are billions."

Silence.

Not a single person spoke.

Even the hardened generals who had fought wars for decades paled at his words.

"B-Billions?" One of them finally stammered.

Su Chen nodded. "And they're coming because they have no choice. Their survival depends on taking Blue Star."

The President sighed deeply, his fingers tapping against the table. "So, you're saying… there's no room for negotiation?"

"There never was," Su Chen answered. "The only way to survive is to eradicate them first."

His words sent a chill through the room.

Strengthening Huaxia

The officials began discussing defensive strategies, but Su Chen knew that defense alone wouldn't be enough.

He needed to accelerate the awakening process.

Huaxia had always been a strong nation, but against divine beings, their military meant nothing.

Su Chen stood up.

"I need full control over Huaxia's awakening research," he declared. "Every resource, every scientist working on awakenings—they answer to me now."

The officials looked at each other. Some hesitated, but the President finally nodded.

"You've already proven yourself," he said. "We'll grant you full authority."

Su Chen didn't waste time.

Spreading Awakenings

With his newfound authority, Su Chen immediately began expanding Huaxia's awakening academy. Time was too short for slow progress.

He set up massive training camps across the country.

Ordinary soldiers were put through forced awakening experiments.

Martial artists were exposed to high-density mana fields.

Scientists worked day and night to develop ways to speed up the awakening process.

And while Huaxia worked tirelessly, Su Chen personally trained a select group.

Only those he trusted—those who had been loyal in his past life—would be given his unique training methods.

Because in the war against the gods, strength wasn't enough.

What they needed were powerhouses capable of killing gods.

Reaching Out to the World

Despite knowing other nations wouldn't believe him, Su Chen still tried.

He called an international meeting, using his newfound influence to demand a global awakening initiative.

But as expected, the response was mockery.

The leaders of other nations laughed at him.

"This is nonsense," the President of the United States scoffed. "You're telling us gods are coming to destroy us?"

A European leader shook his head. "We've seen no evidence of this. We won't waste resources on a fantasy."

Even the leaders of neighboring countries dismissed his words.

Huaxia was alone.

Su Chen gritted his teeth.

These fools would regret their arrogance.

By the time they realized the truth, it would be too late.

Final Preparations

With time running out, Su Chen devoted every moment to training. His own strength had to grow as well.

Even with unlimited mana, he had yet to push his abilities to their true limits.

So, in the dead of night, while Huaxia trained and the world laughed, he ventured into the forbidden lands—places where mana storms raged uncontrollably.

If he wanted to stand against billions of gods, he had to become something far stronger than human.

The countdown to war had truly begun.
