THE DESCENT OF EVIL GODS

Chapter 5: The Forgotten Testament

Su Chen sat alone in his training chamber, his mind racing. Two months. That was all the time he had before the gods descended.

He had already begun preparations—securing Huaxia's support, eliminating the cultists, and training powerhouses—but it wasn't enough.

Something was missing.

A lingering unease gnawed at him, an instinct honed through years of battle. He was missing a critical piece of knowledge.

That night, unable to rest, he ventured deep into Huaxia's national archives. If there was any record of past encounters with gods, it would be there.

An Ancient Discovery

The archive was vast, containing centuries of knowledge. But Su Chen wasn't looking for ordinary history. He was searching for something older, something hidden.

Hours passed. Books, scrolls, digital records—none contained what he needed.

Then he found it.

A book, unlike any other.

It sat on a forgotten shelf, untouched by time. Its cover was made of obsidian-like metal, inscribed with glowing golden runes. Despite the dust, the material was pristine—as if it defied decay itself.

As soon as Su Chen touched it, a deep vibration ran through his body. His mana surged, reacting violently.

This was no ordinary book.

The Testament of the Lost Civilization

With careful hands, Su Chen opened the book. The first page contained only a single line, written in an ancient script.

> "We write this with the last of our strength. To those who find this, know that you were never meant to survive."

His breath caught.

Turning the pages, he read on.

The book spoke of a time long before modern civilization—before even recorded history. An era where gods played with Blue Star like a mere toy.

At first, they came out of boredom, testing their powers, using humanity as entertainment.

Then they left.

But their departure was not an act of mercy. They had simply lost interest.

Yet, the book revealed a horrifying truth:

> The gods always return.

Not because they want to—but because they must.

Su Chen's fingers tightened around the pages as he read further.

The past civilization had discovered a terrible reality. The gods were not immortal. They were powerful, yes, but they too faced extinction. And when their survival was threatened, they would reclaim every world they had ever touched.

Blue Star was not just a battleground. It was a necessary resource for their survival.

Then came the worst part.

The last pages contained a prophecy.

> "When the void trembles and the stars grow cold, the gods shall return—not as spectators, but as conquerors. For their end is written, and only war will decide their fate."

> "Billions of gods wait beyond the stars, watching, waiting. When they come, it will not be a battle—it will be extermination."

Su Chen's vision blurred.

Billions.

This wasn't just a war. It was a massacre waiting to happen.

He felt his heartbeat slow, a cold weight settling in his chest. For the first time since his rebirth, he felt despair.

A Decision That Will Change Everything

Closing the book, Su Chen sat in silence.

The gods were coming. Not thousands, not millions—billions.

Even with all his power, even with unlimited mana, how could he stop that?

His mind raced through every possibility, every scenario.

His fingers dug into his palm.

Then, slowly, his despair transformed into something else.

Determination.

Billions of gods?

Let them come.

If they wanted to take Blue Star, they would have to go through him first.

Su Chen stood up.

> "No matter how many come, I will kill them all."

It was time to train harder. To awaken more powerhouses. To prepare Huaxia for an all-out war.

The war against the gods was only beginning.
