The Cursed Extra: Twin Souls Against the World

Chapter 86: Memories 5

Inside the courtroom, the teen boy stood there covered in red and blue marks all over his body.

Everyone who saw his horrified state felt that justice was served. No one had sympathy for a lowlife like that.

After the past week of torture, Xane just wept while mumbling for forgiveness.

He begged the judge to help him out of this miserable situation, but in return, all he got was the snarly remark that it was out of her jurisdiction.

He just stood helplessly staring at her as the old lawyer continued to place different accusations on him, one after another.

Not only that, the lawyer who was supposed to be defending him was relaxed, as if he did not even care about the result of his case.

He even glanced at the corner where his family just stood with their faces down.

Even when he looked at them, all he saw was disgust and disappointment.

Even though he was unaware of many things, he was not stupid. For the past week, none of his family even bothered to make contact with him.

It was clear they had already believed these accusations.

He wanted to scream at them. Ask them to remember his entire childhood. When did he ever think of doing something so vile? How could they believe in outsiders and not their own blood?

For them not to believe him hurt him more than the entire accusation. How could their years-long bond end in less than two weeks?

Xane still held a bit of hope. Maybe it was a façade. Yeah, it should be a façade. Somebody must be behind all of this. But who? He never offended any person with such strong power. Why were they targeting him?

It was this hope that helped him not shout at them as the court trial continued.

This time, not only the leading police officer, but even the school principal, his class teacher, and a couple of his friends were called.

But he could see that, just like his parents, none of them had good feelings toward him. All of them just stared at him with disgust, as if they wanted him to just die.

The old lawyer asked random questions about the class and his behavior in the class.

Those people recounted all the events. It was just that there was a hint of disgust when they spoke about his achievements.

It was as if they finally saw the hidden purpose behind his actions. One after another, he saw all the familiar people he had known since childhood change.

It was like the world around him had switched to a fresh track, and in doing so, the world threw him out. Leaving him all by himself.

After a week full of physical torture, he was not able to handle the mental pain, and tears continued to stream down his face.

As the past continued to flash through his head, it was not long before he heard the familiar sound of the wooden hammer that snapped him back to reality.

He looked at the silent court in confusion as the judge once again asked, "Do you want to add anything to your defense?"

Xane looked at everyone. There were so many things that he wanted to pour out, but in the end, he just asked in a defeated tone, "Who accused me?"

His voice spread through the court like ripples as people started to speak out their opinions.

"Hampf, look at him, still not admitting the vile crime."

"He still wants to see that poor girl. How sick."

"This psycho must want to scare her again."

"But hey, do you guys know about the victim?"

"Yeah, it's strange that she didn't come to court."

"Are you guys idiots? The little girl must be in trauma."

Different opinions started to pour from the courtroom, but before the situation could get out of hand, the judge slammed the little wooden hammer.

Tak Tak!

The judge looked at everyone and said in a flat tone, "Order, order. Everyone, please maintain this courtroom decorum."

This was enough to make everyone quiet.

Satisfied with the result, she nodded her head and then turned to the old lawyer.

As if he got the cue, the old lawyer wasted no time and said, "Your honor, this is the latest report from the psychiatrist. It mentions that looking at the defendant's face has a high chance of causing her trauma to surge."

At this, Xane protested. "At least tell me the name."

This time, the judge intervened. "Mister Xane, given the severity of the case, the court has decided to protect the identity of the victim."

Unable to hold back, he shouted at the judge. "She could destroy my life while I couldn't even know her name? How is that fair!"

Two police officers rushed at him and grabbed his hands.

He was about to shout again when he heard the judge's cold voice. "Defendant Xane, this is not your house where you can shout."

Tak Tak!

"I am ready to deliver the decision. As per the given evidence provided by the senior officer, and looking at the severity of the case, this court decides for further confinement of the defendant until the matter is fully solved."

Her words hit him like a force as he recognized his mistake. Just thinking about the further torture that he would face, he broke down and pleaded. "No, Judge, please, I am sorry. Please don't send me back to that place. I might not survive there. Somebody, please save me. Father, mother, please."

It was just too much as he desperately started pleading with every familiar face. But no matter how he looked at them, they just avoided looking at him. Not caring about them, he went as far as begging the old lawyer. It was just that the other party only laughed at him.

He was dragged out of the courtroom. As he was being dragged on, he saw a little portion of the media house surrounding his parents.

But before any of those reporters could ask, his mother actually came forward and started bowing.

"Everyone, it is my fault that I failed to teach my son properly. From this moment on, we will not have any relation to that vermin."
