NOVEL NEXT Chapter 262- The Squad, Punished.
The movement was so fast and barely left any trace that before the king's guards could sense anything, they were already gone.

"Divine Paladin… Eh?" The Vice Commander who as in the midst of speaking, had his words struck his throat when he realised that he was no longer in the palace's vicinity. Instead, they were in the middle of nowhere.
"This place can't be?" The question leaked from his mouth unwittingly.
Grey sky and a land so dark that it seemed like it was seeped in ink. There was no way a knight like him wouldn't know of this place.
"You have guessed right. This is the Tainted Lands, to be more precise, it is the place where a labyrinth was recently discovered," Reinhardt answered. That's the least he could do as a part of the last wish of a man.
Tainted lands?! So he was right. But how?!! Just a few seconds ago he was outisde the royal palace, yet suddenly he was in here in the goddamn worst place in the world.
There could only be one answer to that: instantaneous teleportation skill.
"What do you want?" Alerted, the vice commander got away from the Divine Paladin. However, the latter simply smiled and pointed upward.
In the direction where he was pointing, a single human with emerald green armor stood on top of a weird looking construct.
Phew… Seeing that it was Jerrel, he sighed a breath of relief.
"I have fulfilled my request. From this point on, I will only be an observer." Saying that, Reinhardt walked away.
"What is with the Divine Paladin suddenly bringing me here? Does Commander know what he plans to do by bringing the both of us here?" the Vice Commander questioned Jerrel.
"He brought you here on my request. Also, don't call me Commander from now on".
Feeling something amiss in the latter's words, he furrowed his brows. It never occurred to him that his subordinates had spilled the beans to the Emerald Knight.
"The reason I brought you here is so that nobody can disturb the fight."
This was the tainted Lands. Other than the demons who were far deep inside the tainted lands and the demonic beasts, there was no one here. Meaning that Jerrel could fight and kill the other party without alerting the kingdom.
"Fight?"
"Yes, you and me. I plan to make this place your deathbed. Doesn't it seem like a good place for a person who had killed half of the population of Staleport to summon a demon?"
"W-What are you saying Commander?" Jerrel's words were serious, and it seemed like he found out about the conspiracy to kill him back in the Staleport city.
The Vice Commander, concerned for his life, slowly stated falling back. However, this time no one was getting away from him as the place they were fighting was not the sea, but land.
Suddenly, crystals started growing out of the land everywhere, and the world had turned green.
Having been in the order for a long time, the vice commander knew what skill this was and the ridiculous power that it held. Immediately, his face became ugly.
"Don't look down on me, Jarrel!! I'm also a level 9 knight." With no hopes of running, he immediately released all of his powers and charged in a desperate attempt to fight.
While the vice commander was weaker than the Emerald Knight, he was still a level 9 knight who was the second strongest in the kingdom and had fought numerous life and death battles against the demons. His contribution was not small.
It was also for this reason that he was able to rise to level 9.
When two knights of the top tier class fight, the ensuing devastation was so powerful and great that even the sky and land shuddered. Space trembled, distorting severely, and berserk natural phenomena hit the tainted lands for miles.

Time passed by, half a day later, a slightly messy looking knight appeared from the wreckage. Behind him, the ground was completely devastated and had turned into a world of emerald crystals, some of which were as big as mountains.
Jerrel found the waiting Divine Paladin by the side and thanked the latter. Before the court ended, he came up with a request for the other party.
Having learned he possessed a teleportation skill from his male subordinates who were talking and bragging about his many skills, like blabbermouth, he came up with this plan. And it so happened that it was executed perfectly.
"Don't worry about it".
With his revenge finished, the two returned back to the capital of Rune. On that day, the son of the current king and the vice commander of the Order of the Emerald disappeared. However, no one in the city was aware of it.
A few days later, there would be an intense search for the missing vice commander, but to no avail. Forget about finding his body; there was not even a trail left behind of him anywhere in the whole kingdom.
A month later, the king would start going crazy, allowing for Jerrel's smooth ascension to the throne. Of course, Reinhardt and the group were not present to witness all this happen. They returned to the capital of Soalris the next day using Reinhardt's teleportation skill [Aetherial Stride].

Royal Palace, Council Chamber.
Seeing that Reinhardt and Earl Gerard returned in less than a week, an emergency council was held.
Seated on his throne was the King, beside him was the Queen, looking as sensational as ever. On the side of the hall, in a row of seats, were the council members.
Reinhardt, with everyone's attention on him, reported everything that transpired back in the kingdom of Rune since the moment they left the capital. He did not miss out the betrayal or the fact that it was the next king to be of the kingdom of Rune, Jerrel, that helped them.
GULP… everyone in the hall gulped, soaking their dry throats.
