Chapter 263- The Squad, Punished (2)
Reinhardt's story from the beginning to the end was filled with so many ups and downs, betrayals and risks, relief and tension that they did not have even a second to relax their guard.
Every time they thought that things had settled down, it would escalate all of a sudden and throw the situation into the pits of despair. However, time and time again, the Divine Paladin would manage to salvage the situation somehow.
Of course, Reinhardt tried to keep most of the information about his skills and power concealed as much as possible. However, with summoning Thaloryx and everything, it was just a pipe dream of his.
Nevertheless, he did not tell them about the death of the vice commander of the order of the Emerald and about the scene that he had seen using his [Eyes of Divine Clarity].
The members of the council who were ready to sell off one of their frontier nobles to settle a dispute with a neighbouring kingdom had no more words to say to him.
Just like he promised that day in the Senate while standing in the trial in front of them. He had actually stayed true to his statement and delivered on his promise.
He had not only saved a member of his squad and a noble house of the kingdom from ruin, but also helped a soon to become king resolve a conspiracy. Needless to say, the result and achievement he managed to accomplish in this mission were so great that even those who hated him were impressed.
It was the same with the Queen, she was having quite a great time seeing these annoying capital aristocrats that always gave her a hard time, be at a loss for words. If she could, she would have even given Reinhardt a medal for being the worst enemy of the council.
Though too bad, it was an unofficial mission, and he went there on his own. There was no medal or reward for his valor. That said, the rumours about him would still spread, and his actions would become a sensation again.
After that, Gerard was called forth. For his brave actions that were in the interest of the kingdom, she rewarded him by sharing half of the ten million gold in reimbursement that he had to pay to the kingdom of Rune.
Needless to say, the council members were against it. However, even if it meant going against them and worsening her position, she decided to reward him out of feeling guilty for not being able to help him back then.
"Your thoughts are enough for me, your majesty. Please forgive this Gerard for failing to see your magnanimity back then".
If there was a single decent being in the capital who was wholeheartedly dedicated to improving the kingdom and humanity at large, then it was her. She deserved his respect.
After the meeting was over, and Gwen said goodbye to her father and master, Reinhardt and his squad returned back to their own city.
The first thing he did was make these squires, two true knights and a former knight, run ten laps around the city as punishment for being such a blabbermouth.
"Huff… huff… this is all your fault. I never blabbered about Commander's skill to anyone. Why do I also have to get punished for something that you did?" Silvia complained, leading the sprint.
"Hah? How is that my fault? It was that idiot Kevin who blabbered about all that stuff to the Emerald Knight," Vangeance retorted. However, coming from him, who also piled on the conversation when it was brought up, it sounded funny.
Behind them, Kevin was pacing alongside Gwen, whose mood seemed to be a lot better even though they were getting punished.
"Why are you smiling?" Kevin couldn't help but ask.
"Of course, it's because I am happy. I never thought that I would be able to get back to this life of mine again".
A lot happened ever since her father came here. Nonetheless, after a couple of chaotic events, she was finally able to return back to their usual life again. As she thought, she really liked being with the order and train every day to become a knight.
"I see".
Behind them was Rolan, who listened to their conversation and smiled. While it was true that they were being punished, it still felt good now that they were back at their base.
Further behind was Delicia, struggling to keep up. Sadly, she got caught up in the mess of these youngsters, even though she had no part in it.
By the time they all finished running ten laps of the city, half the day was over.
"Big sister Delicia, are you alright?"
Seeing Delicia planting intensely, Gwen asked in concern.
"Don't worry. It's just that… it has been very long since I sprinted this much at once".
The former knight refused to show any weakness. For her current self, ten laps was a little too much. Nevertheless, to get her former stats and level back, Delicia endured it with a will of steel and completed her laps.
After finishing the punishment they were given, they were ordered to return back to their duties. By the time she was done with work and arrived at her home, it was already night.
After having dinner with Karl, just as she laid down to take some rest, she noticed that she was a little wet down there.
How long had it been since she last did it? It had to be the day when she made up with him. Feeling bad for her husband, she tried her best to suppress her libido whenever she got the treatment from the commander.
However, as strong as her libido was, the more she suppressed it, the more pent up it got. She started having weird thoughts that even disturbed her morning training and duties.
However, with Karl being there with her every time she got the treatment, she could not even ask for it.
