Chapter 206- Village Chief & his Wife (3)
"That is for the report. Now, please excuse me, I have to go and see my comrades." Grey grit his teeth and headed for the exit.
Just before he opened the door to exit, he remembered the couple that arrived with them in the city.
"Ah, there is one more thing. Village Chief Karl and his wife came to the city to meet you".
"?" Reinhardt locked his brows. Did the village chief still need help with something else other than clearing the monsters?
"Send him in".
The holy knight nodded and exited the room. Soon after he left, the person in question entered the room.
Karl was here with his beautiful wife, Delicia. Reinhardt glanced at the newcomer. In terms of beauty and body, she was right there at the very top, along with the other most beautiful women of the kingdom. Appearance wise, she was not lacking in any department.
"We meet again, Lord Governor," Karl greeted.
"Un" Reinhardt acknowledged his person before asking with a smile, "I hope my knights did a good job?"
"Absolutely, absolutely, they did a splendid job. All the monsters proliferating inside the jungle were cleared. I, and all the villagers are grateful to you and your knights."
If Karl could, he would have knelt down there to show how grateful he was.
"I see, that's good then. So why is the village chief here to meet with me?"
At his question, the latter looked a little hesitant before making up his mind and speaking about the reason he came here.
"Actually, the reason why I came here is to see the Governor and if possible, ask another favour from you".
"Hoh, what favour?"
Karl looked at his wife and explained the situation she was in.
"And so after her injury, she was unable to work as a knight anymore. She tries to act like she if fine; however, I know that deep down she still misses her life as a knight".
So that was the case. The village chief is not here with another monster hunting quest, but a more personal request.
Reinhardt observed the wife, his eyes looking past her beauty and bombshell like figure to her injuries. Indeed, there was a severe wound that was beyond the scale of ordinary healing skills to repair.
No wonder none of the priests with their healing skills were able to heal her.
"I see, I understand your reason for coming here. With that wound, no wonder she had to retire. In fact, I'm amazed that she was able to hold a sword for this long".
As this was their last option, the couple was naturally nervous.
"C-can she be cured?" Karl asked with a trembling voice.
Seeing them all nervous, Reinhardt smiled to relieve their tension.
"Don't worry, I can heal her injuries. However.."
With his [Radiant Renewal] no injuries was impossible for him. It can regenerate lost limbs and can even restore organs back to how it was previously. Heck, the skill was so overpowered that to could even heal a person to life from the brink of death.
What was Delicia's injuries compared to it? However, the skill was not a user target skill but instead a wide area, which meant that the effects of the skill was too much for a single person to endure.
To tone down the skill, he would have to touch her; skin contact would be inevitable. That's right, it was the same healing process he used on Verdia.
Seeing his hesitation and mistaking it for something else, Karl became desperate. He got up from his seat and grabbed onto Reinhardt's hands.
"Governor; no, Lord Governor, please heal my wife. If it's about the payment for the treatment, I am willing to do anything. Please… please…"
"Calm down, you are jumping the gun, village chief. Please listen to me first, I don't need money for her treatment".
At those words, Karl calmed down a little.
"I don't need your money. However, there is something you should know about my skill. The skill that I use to heal the injuries of my knights is a wide area skill. It works perfectly only when there is a large number to heal. While it is also effective on a single person, to do so, I would need to apply the effects directly to their injured area."
Reinhardt tried his best to explain; however, as a noncombatant, Karl still remained quite clueless. On the other hand, Delicia quickly understood what he was implying and blushed slightly.
In short, what he was saying was, to heal her, he would need to touch her in the areas where she was injured.
While her husband still remained confused, the wife made the decision. Delicia stared at Reinahrdt, performed a knight's salute before asking to be healed.
"You are saying that while fully aware of the aspects of the treatment process, right?"
She blushed and nodded her head, "That's fine. If I am able to wield my sword again, then I don't mind…"
There was a deeper intonation in her words. However, Reinhardt perceived it as her being fine with him touching the area she was injured in. Since the couple was fine, there was no need for discussion anymore.
"The healing process will start tomorrow. Since I don't know how long it will take, you will have to stay in the capital during this time period".
"Really, that's great news." Karl was extremely excited to hear that his wife could be treated. Her wish to be able to hold a sword once again can be fulfilled. That said, when he heard the latter half of Reinhardt's words, his face twitched with embarrassment.
"About that, do we really have to live in the city during that time period?"
As a normal village chief from a small village, there is no way he could afford to live in the extremely pricey city. The gold that he had collected from all the villagers was returned to them, leaving only a few silver coins in his pocket.
