The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 205- Village Chief & his Wife (2)

Bishop or Saintess could heal her, but how could it be so easy for your average villager to meet such a distinguished being? Not to mention the cost it would need for the treatment.

Just as Karl was about to give up all hope, from the corner of his eye, he saw the knight grinning and laughing to himself.

"Ah, that's right. It would be impossible for me. However, there is one person in our order who might be able to help your wife."

Probably because the wife was so beautiful, Grey wanted to do something for her.

"Is there really someone? Can that person help heal her injury?".

The holy knight nodded, his demeanour prideful and venerant. "Indeed, there is a person. He is my Commander and the leader of the Temple of Light. The greatest knight born in this world. If it's him, he should be able to heal your wife. After all, Commander was the first person in history who broke through a curse inflicted on him that even the Saintess couldn't".

From his tone, others could see the respect and admiration he held for the person he called the commander. His infectious attitude also managed to lift the mood of the couple, who were starting to hold hope in their hearts again.

"There is such a person?! Is it possible for us to meet with him?"

"Hmm? Didn't you meet him already? Commander Reinhardt was the one who sent me and the knights here".

Grey's words caused Karl to stare blankly. A few seconds later, realisation dawned on him and his eyes opened wide.

"Are you telling me that the new Governor of the city is your Commander? He is also a knight?!!"

The village chief was shocked. However, his shock paled in comparison to his wife, who looked like she had seen a ghost.

"Wait, did you just say Reinhardt? By any chance, do you mean that Reinhardt Arcknight, the Divine Paladin?"

"Delicia, do you know the Governor?"

How could she not know him? Divine Paladin, one of the three heroes of the kingdom, knight among knights, hero among knights. To every knight of this world, that name was the very synonym of glory and chivalry. There were so many legends about this person that even little kids know about him.

"That's right," Grey grinned.

"The Divine Paladin became the Governor of the city, I can't believe it."

Delicia couldn't be blamed for having difficulty believing it after all, as a former knight, she was more aware of the value and legends of the man in question than Karl.

"You can meet up with the commander in his office and make your request to him directly. I'm sure he will help you guys".

Saying that, he left the couple to decide what they wanted to do and retired for the night.

The next day, just as instilled in their body, they woke up at the crack of dawn and began preparation to head back to the Snowpoint City. The villagers, now extremely grateful and indebted to the knights, saw the latter off.

"Oh?" In front of the gate, waiting for them were two other people.

Grey looked at the couple and smiled, "So you guys decided to come with us?"

Yesterday, he told the couple that there was one person in the city who could heal Delicia's injury, namely his commander. The couple must have come to a decision after talking about it overnight.

"We have decided to ask the governor to heal Delicia's injury."

Karl nodded with a determined look on his face. Even if the other party asked a ridiculous price for the treatment, he was ready to sell off all of his assets for his wife.

"Good, then hop on a horse and follow us".

.

The knights sent to clear the monster wave from a nearby village, returned after a day. Inside his office, Reinhardt was being briefed about the events that transpired by the holy knight.

"I see, so it was an A- rank monster that deviated from its race and unlocked sentience huh?" The divine paladin nodded. He then narrowed his eyes and questioned.

"Any chance that it was the doing of the demons?"

"While I did not find any clues that would particularly point to it being the doing of the demons, the possibility cannot be ruled out".

The chances of a monster unlocking sentience were extremely rare. Usually, it would only occur in monsters with special bloodlines or on deviants who go through a cruel life and death struggle.

For a monster to unlock sentient in a forest as small as that was extremely low. Yet it occurred. There could be only two possibilities for that. Either it was an extremely rare coincidence or it was the doing of the demons.

"In any case, you did a good job with the mission. How was the sentient monster by the way?"

Grey laughed and reiterated the battle he had with the monster. It was more goofy than it was a battle. The sentient Titan Ape, after realising that he was no match for the holy knight, started bootlicking and even begging for it's life.

Its expression and words more dramatic than even those actors from the theatres.

"I was quite surprised myself, too Commander. If not for the fact that I knew it was lying, I might have fallen for its excuse".

"I see, it said it had a wife and children to take care of, huh. Haha, what a classic excuse," Reinhardt chuckled before shifting the conversation towards the knight seedlings of the order.

"Their training went well; many of them pushed their bodies to the limit to unlock their sleeping potentials. Kevin, especially, seemed to have learned something unique to him,"

Grey reported. His eyes were particularly strange when he talked about Kevin. The young squire was such an enigma that even he, a Holy Knight, didn't understand what he did at the last moment to slay that Boss Troll.

However, he could see from his Commander's eyes that the latter did know something.
