The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 207- The Effects of Divine Luck

Karl knew that he cannot find any place to live with that kind of money especially in this city. Of course, he was basing that on the prices he had seen when Baron Chetak was in charge.

The city had changed significantly since then. The prices have been reset and brought to a level where even a normal villager like Karl could afford them.

Seeing the embarrassed face of the village chief, Reinhardt understood what he was thinking.

"I cannot be sure how long it would take, so it's better for you two to stay here. Don't worry, you don't have to worry about the accommodation. I will get a maid to bring you two to your rooms".

Saying that, he pressed the bell beside his table, and after a few short seconds, a maid entered the room.

"You called, Lord Reinhardt?" It was Anastasia; she made her way in gracefully and elegantly.

"Yes," he pointed at the couple and instructed, "These two are going to live here for a while. Show them to their room".

The headmaid nodded dutifully and gestured the couple to come with her.

"That's right, since lord Governor has been so helpful towards our village, the villagers have sent a gift for you." Karl grabbed his oversized bag and started searching for something.

A gift? Reinhardt shook his head, he was not interested in materialistic things like money anyway. Born in this world as the son of a duke, he already had all the status and riches that he needed.

"Please don't say that, although this isn't much, it is our way of thanking you for all that you have done for us" Saying that, Karl forced a bag full of wild leaves onto his desk.

"This?" He was perplexed by the unusual gift that was just forced upon him.

"Since you rejected our money the last time, this is a gift we came up with after much deliberation. The plant is called Myrrh Leaves and is something we gathered from inside the forest. Hunters and farmers from our village often drink the soup of this leaf after boiling it. It reenergises the body and can also relieve pain to some extent".

So it was like an old wives' tale, a widely held belief, but in actuality has no real effect.

"Very well, I accept your gift."

Since the other party was so insistent, he took the gift, and with that, the couple left. After the Village chief and his wife left, Reinhardt dived back into his work again. It wasn't until night that he was freed from it.

As he got up from his seat and stretched his body, his eyes inadvertently went towards the bag of leaves set aside in the corner of the room. This bag was the gift the village chief gave him.

"A folk remedy huh?" Reinhardt chuckled. He was just about to shift his eyes away when an astronomically rare feeling hit him.

Focusing on this feeling, he realised that it came from his luck stat that reached the realm of Divine. For luck stat to trigger now of all times… he placed his attention back on the bag of leaves and bingo. The feeling got stronger!!

A bunch of wild leaves that the villagers gathered from the jungle, triggering his Luck stat? He did not believe that was possible; there had to be something actually unique and worth about these leaves.

Without any delay, Reinhardt activated his [Eyes of Divine Clarity], and understanding finally dawned on him.

It appeared that villagers weren't wrong. The thing that he dismissed as some old wives' tale was actually something that did work. However, therein lies the twist.

The Myrrh leaves, no matter how good of a paint reliever agent, it cannot trigger his Luck stat. The reason why it did was because there was another hidden factor to these seemingly ordinary wild leaves.

The findings he got from the [Eyes of Divine Clarity] were as such.

Name: Myrrh Leaf. Description- uncommon wild herb. Found in abundance across temperate valleys and forest edges. Effects: Minor stamina recovery. Mild calming effect. Slight resistance to pain.

It was all fine up till here, the plant was a little uncommon, but nothing too shocking. However, the real spinner came after this.

Hidden side: The forgotten brew. When boiled in rainwater at minimal heat for thirty minutes using a silverware, can the true effects of the Myrrh can be unlocked.

True Effect: Greatly increases mana regeneration during training. Doubles skill progression rate for sword forms, skill mastery, or technique refinement. Synchronizes with the user's elemental affinity, martial affinity, subtly adjusting posture, grip, and stance for optimal technique.

When Reinhardt read the hidden side of this seemingly inconspicuous plant, he was stunned. The effects were so unbelievable that it was no surprise that it managed to trigger his luck stat.

This thing, it was the greatest training supplement ever discovered. Using these Myrrh leaves, he could train his knights and achieve double or triple the result.

Gaining the position as one of the top three knight orders was also no longer a faraway goal anymore.

Who would think that something casually passed as a gift to him by the village chief would turn out to be such an incredible item?

The funny thing was that the villagers from where these leaves were found, drank this as a pain relieving soup.

To give such a great gift to him, even though unintentionally, it made Reinhardt improve their living condition during their stay in the mansion.

The couple would soon be surprised to find beautiful maids and servants at their beck and call. Of course, this would lead to a completely different misunderstanding from Delicia, Karl's wife.

However, Reinhardt had no way of knowing that right now. He was just happy that he found such a great treasure even without needing to do anything. A luxury that only he, with his Divine luck could enjoy.

And so, unable to contain his excitement, Reinhardt got into brewing the Myrrh leaves for the rest of the night.
