Chapter 415: Chapter 415: The Last Dance

Thus, under the guidance of the Wind Demon, Water Demon, and Earth Demon, Blackheart stealthily left his location, intent on reaching Earth to obtain the so-called Saint Savaticon Covenant. Unbeknownst to him, a pair of eyes was watching him with great interest as he departed.

With a buzzing sound, somewhere in the Hell dimension, under the protection of the Wind Demon, Blackheart's body passed through a spatial rift. Blackheart himself felt no pain, but the Wind Demon, crossing the rift, seemed to endure a flaying punishment.

Thanks to the Wind Demon's unique nature—an embodiment of wind within Hell that had gained consciousness—its formless nature allowed it to withstand the agony. Otherwise, the Wind Demon might not have survived such an ordeal.

In contrast, the Earth Demon and Water Demon were unscathed since their powers were not restricted by the Earth's dimension. The Wind Demon suffered because it carried Blackheart, a Hell Lord, bearing the cost on his behalf.

Soon, the Hell quartet successfully arrived on Earth. Blackheart emerged from the Wind Demon's protection, with the Earth Demon and Water Demon at his side. The Wind Demon, however, was in a pitiful state, significantly harmed by the smuggling process.

Yet, Blackheart paid no heed to the Wind Demon's plight. Despite the Wind Demon bringing him to Earth, Blackheart felt it was only natural for his subordinates to sacrifice for him. After all, the Wind Demon was merely injured, not dead, which was a trivial matter.

Turning his gaze to the Earth Demon, Blackheart's eyes gleamed as he asked, "Since you know about the Saint Savaticon Covenant, how should we find it?"

"Lord, I have some clues. It is said the Covenant is in a cemetery, guarded by the previous Ghost Rider!" The Earth Demon replied respectfully.

"Ghost Rider?!" Blackheart was startled. Though he hadn't overheard Murphy's conversations with other Hell Lords, he was somewhat familiar with Ghost Riders. Hearing that a Ghost Rider guarded the cemetery made Blackheart apprehensive.

Though confident in his Hell Lord power on Earth, Blackheart didn't want a Ghost Rider complicating his path to dominance.

"Rest assured, Lord. I've heard that the last Ghost Rider lived a long time ago. Despite their longevity, without new power sources, even Ghost Riders die eventually," the Earth Demon quickly added.

"And since Earth's Ghost Riders can't stay transformed constantly, their human hosts don't live longer than average," the Earth Demon explained. "So, by now, that Ghost Rider must be either old or able to transform only one last time before dying."

"Is that so?" Relieved by the Earth Demon's words, Blackheart felt more confident. With such strategic subordinates, how could he fail to become a Hell Lord?

"Good! Lead the way. I want to see how much power an old Ghost Rider can muster!" Blackheart eagerly said, giving the Earth Demon an approving glance.

"Yes, Lord, follow me!" The Earth Demon remained humble, showing no pride despite Blackheart's praise, and led the way.

Neither Robert nor Clark knew about Blackheart and his minions arriving on Earth. Robert, having Constantine track Murphy, was unaware of Blackheart, who was a stranger to both him and Constantine.

Clark was monitoring demons entering the Earth dimension, but the entry points on Earth were numerous. Blackheart's smuggling went unnoticed as his minions initially appeared ordinary.

In a remote area, there was a small chapel beside a somewhat neglected cemetery, tended by an elderly man. This man, Carter Slade, was the previous Ghost Rider. His longevity, courtesy of residual Ghost Rider power, kept him alive for nearly two centuries since making his pact with Murphy.

Now at life's end, Carter chose this spot for his burial, preparing to lie in the grave he dug for himself.

"Should I contact someone? Otherwise, after I lie down, who will cover me?" Carter mused while lying in his grave. He realized the flaw: he could lie down, but his grave would remain open.

"Need someone to bury you? That's something I excel at, sending people to their deaths has always been my favorite thing..." A malevolent voice interrupted his thoughts. Carter, recognizing the familiar scent, quickly rose from his grave.

"The stench of demons! This place is off-limits to you! See that cross? This is holy ground, under heaven's protection... huh?!" Carter noticed the chapel's faint glow guiding lost souls in the dark.

As Blackheart approached, an oppressive darkness snuffed out the chapel's light, leaving only the encroaching blackness and a menacing figure that seemed ready to devour Carter.

"It seems your god and angels aren't very effective. Honestly, if this were a better chapel, I might be cautious. But this place looks like a knockoff," Blackheart taunted.

"Perhaps when building it, some priest deceived you about its power to ward off demons? Lies aren't unique to demons. Humans and your angels lie too!"

"Why would a Hell Lord visit an old man like me?" Carter's expression darkened but quickly returned to normal as he faced Blackheart.

"You're smart. Stay that way, and you might live," Blackheart laughed.

"A chance to live?" Carter sneered, "Didn't you offer to bury me? Now you say I might live? Can't you see I'm almost dead?"

"I do, but death isn't always the end. Special people like you can persist in Hell. So, will you be dead or alive in Hell?" Blackheart's voice carried a mocking, threatening tone.

Just then, three strange sounds echoed as the Water Demon, Earth Demon, and Wind Demon appeared beside Blackheart. "Apologies, Lord. We found nothing..."

"What?!" Blackheart's anger flared. He had stalled Carter to give his minions time to find the Covenant, but they had failed.

"Hahaha!" Carter laughed derisively. "So you have three elemental demons. No wonder I sensed movement. You seek the Covenant, but don't you know my soul is beyond your control?"

"You reveal your identity, Ghost Rider?" Blackheart squinted. "I came for the Saint Savaticon Covenant. Hand it over, or suffer eternal torment. Your soul won't escape me, for I am Murphy's son, Blackheart!"

Carter's pupils contracted, then anger flared. Fury surged, transforming him into a flaming skeletal Ghost Rider. "You! Are guilty!"

"Attack!" Blackheart, wary of Carter's transformation, ordered his minions, avoiding direct confrontation himself. "Seize him and find the Covenant!"

"Yes!" The elemental demons attacked without hesitation.

First, the Wind Demon vanished into the air. Next, the Water Demon melted into a puddle. The Earth Demon, however, remained to face Carter, knowing someone had to confront the Ghost Rider.

The Earth Demon grew into a three-meter giant, swinging at Carter, who dodged and countered with a fiery blast, sending the Earth Demon flying.

Though fire and earth didn't inherently counter each other, Carter's intense flames burned a hole in the Earth Demon's chest, exposing molten innards.
