Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons

Chapter 66: Sewn Beast

Morning

Inside the Big Gold Tooth Tavern

The morning tavern was still bustling with voices, with explorers gathering here to prepare for today's exploration.

Kane and Kreya walked out of the tavern, and happened to meet Meizike coming over.

Once the team gathered, they began walking towards the dungeon entrance, the roadside busy with passing explorers, and various shops opening early.

Morning is when explorers start their new explorations, and if the shops didn't open now, they'd miss out on quite a bit of money.

Most of the goods were sold in the morning and the twilight near nightfall.

Kane was on the road, occasionally observing the surroundings.

He wasn't sure if it was an illusion, but there seemed to be more explorers in Crystal Town than before.

After some time in line, Kane and the others successfully boarded the teleportation stone and arrived once again at the floating platform amidst the starry sky.

This time, however, Kane didn't rush in but called everyone to a stop.

"Wait a moment, I've got something for you," Kane said.

After speaking, Kane reached into his space equipment and distributed the custom-made black robes to the three, according to size.

Kreya and the others looked at the robes in their hands, puzzled. They were just ordinary black robes, not magic equipment.

What was the purpose of giving such robes to them?

Kane didn't explain, and instead, waited until they put them on. Then, he placed his hand on their robes, activating Material Change - Steel.

The robes on their bodies instantly became as hard as steel, yet remained as soft as cloth. This was a technique Kane had recently learned, which added a bit of safety to his teammates.

Although the duration was limited.

Longbei looked at his robe, feeling the steel-like texture, but it wore like soft fabric.

His eyes were full of astonishment at the effectiveness of such a skill.

As a frontline Iron Guard, he could appreciate this lightweight yet defensive equipment, which he had always dreamed of.

The three had only seen Kane's conjuring and silk-shooting skills, as well as his eye abilities, but had never witnessed firsthand Kane's skill of transforming objects to steel.

They had thought the silk's transformation to steel was a skill inherent to it. As for transparent creations turning to steel, they couldn't see them, only feel there was something there.

Seeing the shock and confusion in the eyes of the group, Kane smiled and began explaining the function of his skill.

After Kane finished explaining, everyone bowed their heads in thought.

Longbei stared at Kane and said, "Are you really the mist's illegitimate child?"

This skill was truly astonishing, especially when combined with Kane's other skills.

Though everyone was curious about why Kane had so many powerful skills, everyone had their own secrets.

Even though Kane's skills were nearing the level of origin skills.

So, no one pressed further, understanding was enough since he was their captain.

The battles and mutual help they had shared over time had forged a strong bond among them.

Kreya's bond value had already surpassed 70, and Longbei's should soon reach the 70 threshold as well.

The bond value represented their attitude and friendship towards Kane, indicating whether they would firmly stand by Kane when needed.

After reaching 70, they would always choose to help Kane without violating their principles, standing by Kane's side.

The bond value signified their friendship with Kane.

Kane waved everyone awake and then stepped into the fog gate first.

The rest came to their senses and followed Kane inside.

Back in the dungeon, today was their battle against the second phase boss.

Passing through the dim corridor.

When they stood in the arena again, the familiar tremors came.

This time, the dungeon didn't change into another environment but directly expanded the arena's range.

As the range extended, ten giant stone pillars protruded from the surroundings.

The already bright sky suddenly seemed to have a blazing sun appear, turning the arena as bright as noon under the midday sun.

From the mist-covered stands around, deafening cheers erupted again, with bloodthirsty roars piercing the ears.

Kane and the others ignored these annoying sounds and began adjusting their state.

They took potions from the buckles at their waists and drank them.

These were the potions Meizike had handed over yesterday, specially customized for them.

Kane once again used the summoning equipment [Goblin's Parade], summoning ten goblin squads, instructing them to protect Meiketsu.

A sluice gate suddenly appeared opposite Kane and his team. When it rose, heavy footsteps echoed. Based on the tremors and noise, this had to be a big fellow.

As the monster's true form was revealed, Kane immediately switched the skill bar from [Eagle Eye] to [Critical Strike].

This was a giant beast, approximately 5 meters tall. Its lower limbs resembled a rabbit's or kangaroo's hind legs. Its tail was covered with scale armor, ending in a hammer-like club.

Its upper limbs were like a monkey's arms, with hooked claws on its palms. The head had a crocodile-like mouth, revealing countless sharp teeth when opened. A bite from that would be devastating.

"Roar"

The monster let out an ear-splitting roar, with one wave following another.

Kreya had already donned her heavy armor, battle aura emanating from her feet, and her eyes glowing red due to the roar.

Longbei also activated his skill, with his beard igniting. His entire form turned into a small giant.

A potion bottle floated over each person's head, the first potion's buff already applied.

Kane retrieved the quiver purchased yesterday, along with his long spear, strapping them to his back.

Then he crafted a transparent bow, pulling it back to shoot at the monster.

Using a Powerful Strike.

The monster ignored Kane's attack and directly leaped onto the nearest stone pillar.

Now Kane understood the purpose of the ten stone pillars, they were for the monster to use as springboards for more agile attacks.

Longbei charged out, yelling taunts.

"What an ugly mongrel, come over here, master has a treat for you."

Kane had inquired about Longbei's taunting skill, which had a very high priority.

Although the monster didn't understand Longbei's words, it was still taunted.

It let out a sharp, rasping roar and charged at Longbei.

However, a web made of steel wire suddenly appeared mid-air, ensnaring the creature before it could adjust its posture.

Kreya and Kane grasped the web's ends, pinning it to the ground, but its powerful struggle tore the web apart.

However, Longbei leapt onto it, activating the shield skill, covering him with a shell-like phantom.

Longbei drew his long halberd, piercing it into the monster's eye.
