Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons

Chapter 65 Powerful Shot

The stall full of various hunter gear

Kane was engrossed in conversation with the stall owner.

A mechanical claw poked Kane's shoulder, and turning around, he saw it was YoYo.

"Master, the appointed time is approaching."

Oh right

Before splitting up, I agreed to meet up with my teammates in an hour.

"Boss, give me 10 Burning Arrows and 10 Frost Arrows."

"Alright"

The boss remembered that he called Kane over to sell arrows, not to chat.

He packed the arrows Kane wanted and handed them over.

"Take care, young man"

Kane took them and tossed them into his space equipment, nodded, and bid farewell to the owner.

He then quickly left, heading towards the market entrance.

As Kane arrived at the market entrance briskly, Kreya and the others were already waiting.

"Sorry, got delayed a bit."

Seeing Kane as the last to arrive, Longbei's curiosity was piqued.

"Did you buy any good equipment?"

After all, the market is only so big, you'd be done browsing in no time.

Kane didn't mention he lost track of time chatting, instead pulling out the [Beast Camp Hunter Token].

"Bought a consumable to learn skills."

"Oh, that's not bad."

Consumables for learning skills aren't very rare, but finding one that suits you is tough.

When a teammate buys a skill that suits them, everyone is happy.

Since everyone has gathered, it's time to head back towards the tavern.

"You guys head back first, I'll try out this new skill at the arena."

He wanted to learn the new skill and practice it a bit, to gauge its strength, understanding it's best to experience it firsthand.

"Alright, we'll go on ahead then"

After hearing Kane's words, they didn't mind. The newly acquired skill indeed needed thorough practice to get a feel for it.

Parting ways with his teammates, Kane first went to a clothing store in town.

Upon entering the shop, an old woman came over.

"Young man, what do you need?"

Kane looked around at the clothing in the store but didn't find what he was looking for.

"Do you have a robe that covers the whole body?"

"Yes, we do."

The old woman turned and walked towards the back, muttering: "How could we not have these things for an explorer's business? Many clothes don't even get displayed, my shop is too small. Oh right, young man, have you eaten?"

Kane followed beside her, answering a bit baffled: "Not yet"

The old woman brought Kane to the back of the shop and let him sit on a bench while she went to get the robe.

"Young folk should eat properly. It's not good to skip meals, just like my grandson. He's an explorer too, didn't eat well in his childhood..."

Her voice was a bit hoarse, but it felt kind-hearted.

Kane sat there, listening to the old woman's voice from the small room inside.

He was seated just beside the counter, from where he could see inside.

On the cluttered table, there were some weaving tools, and in the corner of the cabinet, there was a photo.

In the photo, there was an elderly person and a child, the child running and waving a wooden stick, with the elderly chasing behind.

Why the photo moves isn't surprising—after all, it's an extraordinary, stitched-together world.

Not far from the photo was a small box that he recognized as an urn.

A photo of a young man was affixed on it.

"Young man, take a look, how are these?"

Kane pulled his thoughts together and focused on the robe in the elderly woman's hands.

He selected one and passed it back.

"I need two of these in my size, one for a dwarf, and one for a centaur."

"I'll also need to alter one for a centaur."

"Will it take long?"

"Not long, about an hour."

That's fine then, Kane agreed with the old woman to pick them up later, intending to head to the training ground to get his skills in order.

At the training ground, he rented a small practice area.

He took out the [Beast Camp Hunter Token] and chose to use it.

The consumable turned into magic light particles and flowed into Kane's body.

He began to meticulously perceive the newly gained information in his mind—it felt like he could effortlessly follow the operations provided by this information, even if it was his first time.

He formed a bow and directly used Powerful Shot.

The wooden target in the distance shattered into splinters under this shot.

The power of this shot was dispersed, not very concentrated.

This item merely taught Kane the skill, but he needed to practice for some time to unleash its full power perfectly.

Kane continued aiming at the intact targets in the distance, but after a few shots the bow in his hands couldn't withstand it and broke.

This was about the best bow Kane could form, but it could barely endure three shots before cracking.

If it were a regular bow, it might only withstand two, or even just one shot.

Though a magic bow might last longer, Kane wouldn't risk his own equipment for practice.

Given his origin skills, the bow consumption wasn't a concern for Kane.

This time he tried his magic bow to test its power, the skill explanation indicated that the better the bow, the stronger the power would be.

Once more he drew the bow, firing at the wooden target.

This time the target was shattered to pieces by the impact.

The power level skyrocketed; unfortunately, it was costly.

Still, it could be used against stronger enemies when necessary.

Kane continued forming bows and practicing the skill, sipping magic potion when his magic power was running low.

Today, he needed to master this skill proficiently.

As dusk approached

Kane appeared in the old woman's ready-to-wear shop.

"Boss, I'm here to pick up the robe."

The granny was still busy, and Kane noticed the packaged robe on the side.

He went over, picked it up, and left the money behind.

"Boss, I'm taking it, left the money here."

With that, he pushed the door open and left.

"Be careful exploring, young man."

The elderly lady's voice came out from the shop.

Hearing it, the corners of Kane's mouth lifted slightly.

Back at the tavern, Kane didn't see Kreya or the others.

No need to deliberately search; they had already agreed to meet at the tavern the next morning.

He ordered dinner from Burton and carried it back to his room.

While Kane was eating, YoYo was looking at a book on the nightstand.

Rather than reading, it was more like scanning and recording.

These books were ones Kane had bought for YoYo over time, as this little fellow is an intelligent machine, a kind of assistant.

The books Kane bought mainly contained information about people, geography, and some language from this world.

Once YoYo finished reading, this information could be called upon anytime to help Kane in areas he didn't understand.

This, indeed, is the proper use of an assistant robot.
