Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons

Chapter 67: Blow Your Mind Open

In the grand and majestic arena.

Longbei suppressed the monster, vigorously restricting its movements,

but the monster struggled fiercely, tossing Longbei off.

Its claws swung towards Longbei, who raised his shield in defense. Due to various defensive boosts, the monster's strikes were futile against Longbei, only making his shield echo with thuds.

Kreya wielded her long spear, harassing the monster around in an effort to alleviate Longbei's pressure.

After piercing with her long spear, Kreya leaped backward.

The monster's tail hammer swung over. But by then, the centaur was no longer in the same place.

The limitations by the two provided Kane a perfect opportunity to deal damage.

Kane shot out a triple arrow, but due to the monster's heavily armored fur, his attack only lodged the arrows into its body.

However, that was enough, as the three arrows were imbued with Kane's Skill [Critical Strike].

The magic power had already infiltrated the monster's body, waiting for Kane's next attack to detonate it from within.

Kane shot another arrow, hitting one of the monster's arms directly.

Flesh on the arm burst open, blood gushing out as the monster howled in pain.

The entire arm drooped down, and neither Longbei nor Kreya missed this golden opportunity.

They swung their weapons at the monster, leaving two massive scars on its body.

The pain from its wounds seemed to make the monster even more ferocious.

Its tail swung in a sweeping motion, striking at a blinding speed. Longbei and Kreya couldn't dodge and were knocked away.

However, thanks to the long robes Kane provided and the armor the potion granted,

they weren't severely harmed and quickly got back on their feet. Yet, the monster freed itself from their control and leapt towards the surrounding stone pillars again.

It jumped among the pillars, occasionally spitting a glob of acid down at the people below.

Each drop of acid corroded a pit in the ground. No one dared to take it head-on and could only scurry away.

Due to its high-speed evasive maneuvers on the pillars, Kane's arrows barely hit the target.

This wouldn't do, so Kane discarded his bow and arrow. He shot a mass of spider silk from his wrist, sticking it to a pillar.

After pulling himself up, he swung back and forth up there, matching the monster in speed.

Kane's action seemed to infuriate the beast, for this was its domain. This intruding ant seriously violated its territory.

It began to chase Kane desperately, trying to bite him, but Kane used the agility of the spider silk to dodge about with the monster.

Suddenly, as Kane swung in mid-air, the monster charged to bite him. Unfortunately, Kane used the Skill on his shoes, pausing in mid-air to dodge the attack.

He then shot another spider silk, sticking it to the monster's back, pulling himself over.

With his other hand, he raised his long spear Shielding the Sky, marking the monster, stabbing forward.

To the monster, the long spear was an ultimate penetrator, piercing directly into its back.

The monster cried out in pain, struggling madly.

Perhaps due to its stitched nature, its body was structurally flawed; already injured, with only one arm left, it couldn't reach Kane on its back.

It could only swing wildly, while Kane anchored himself firmly on its back with the spear and spider silk.

He continuously drew out small knives, stabbing them into the monster's back.

Each attack triggered Critical Strike, with magic power exploding repeatedly in its body.

Close combat required only three hits to activate Critical Strike, leaving the monster thrashing desperately, trying to fling Kane off.

The pain and blood loss made it feel its life ebbing away. Kane once again drew a small knife, stabbing it into the monster's back.

A surge of magic power exploded inside once more, finally overwhelming the monster, causing it to fall.

During its fall, Kane shot out a spider silk, swinging himself to another pillar.

The monster's massive weight crashed into the arena, sending dust clouds rising. Kane remained vigilant, taking out the Explosive Potion given by Meizike yesterday.

Fitting it onto an arrow, he shot it towards the monster amidst the dust.

Everyone else stood still, launching their ranged attacks into the dust cloud.

Kreya hurled her long spear with all her might towards the monster.

Even Longbei took out several flying axes, flinging them over, while Meiketsu handed his Explosive Potion to Kreya to throw for him.

Meizike's Explosive Potion and Kainder's potion exploded simultaneously.

The blast's shockwave stirred up more dust, while Kane swung back to his team's side.

His teammates stayed cautious, eyes fixed on the monster's direction, waiting for the dust to settle.

Suddenly, there was a disturbance in the smoke as the monster charged out, heading straight for Kane.

Now covered in holes, blood flowed from it like springs.

Yet, it only wished to kill Kane, trying to take him down in its dying moments.

Kreya and Longbei were not far from Kane, quickly rushing in front of him, raising shields to block the monster's assault.

Both were knocked back in succession by the monster's charge.

But they held on against its attack, while Kane once again unleashed his assault upon it.

Three arrows plunged deeply into its wounds once again, before he took out his Magic Longbow,

using Powerful Strike and Critical Strike to launch an arrow at the monster's head.

Owing to Longbei and Kreya's defense and its own injuries,

the monster lacked the ability to dodge, getting struck heavily by the arrow.

The arrow pierced through its head instantly, with the magic power detonating inside its brain.

With a soft sound, the monster's head was blown open, and its heavy body fell to the ground, lifeless.

The surrounding audience stands erupted with deafening cheers and applause like waves.

The stone pillars began retracting underground, and the arena slowly returned to its original state.

Meiketsu and Kane quickly joined Kreya and the others, noticing Kreya's shield and armor deformed from numerous impacts.

After all, her armor and shield were not Magic Equipment.

Due to Longbei's constitution and the shield's protection, even though he endured the most attacks, his injuries weren't too serious, just some unavoidable external wounds.

Thankfully, Kane's cloak provided protection, so Kreya's injuries were not severe either.

Meiketsu started scattering Healing Particles on everyone. He released a large amount this time, the red magic gathering and surging into their bodies.

"Whew"

Their injuries healed rapidly, but unfortunately, these Healing Particles could only be used after a battle.

If used during combat, they didn't distinguish between friend and foe, healing the injured indiscriminately.

Thus, there's a risk of healing enemies as well.

Everyone sat on the ground, chugging Healing Potions to recover their strength.

The light around them began gathering, forming a magnificent chest full of engravings and various gemstones, surrounded by piles of gold coins.

There was no need to check; they knew this must be quite the haul.
