Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 899: 896: Redirect

"Bring me my crown and the arrogant mortal."

The moment Corey heard these words, his expression changed.

The massive jellyfish tentacles moved at a blistering speed, and Corey could not help but curse inwardly.

'Damn it.'

Black lightning appeared around his feet, and he dodged a tentacle. The tentacle barely scraped his arm, and a deep frown appeared on his face when he felt his arm getting paralyzed.

'Poison.'

'It's speed is ridiculously fast, and the poison it has is potent enough to affect despite my poison resistance. This is bad.'

'I don't know how powerful it is. The energy it's radiating is very strange. If I'm to guess, it might be comparable to a Tier 7 or maybe something a lot stronger.'

Corey's eyes flashed with a calculating light as he moved in a zig zag manner while barely dodging the massive tentacles.

As he moved, he made sure that the distance between him and the crown was not too far for him to react to no matter what.

'Although this thing is extremely powerful. It feels... unstable and strange. It's definitely not as powerful as it used to be, but it's not something I can kill.'

'Heck, I can't even see its full body.'

Corey's head snapped to the crown when he saw a tentacle going for it.

His eyes flashed coldly, and then he turned to the right. Black lightning exploded out from his feet, and arcs of black lightning shot out into the air.

Two seconds later, his body and the black lightning he was emitting, vanished. His void force pulsed around him, and he appeared in front of the tentacle.

His pure white eyes glowed brightly, but at the center of his eyes was a glowing yellow dot.

Eyes of Truth and Judgement

There were nine abilities of his Eyes of Truth and Judgement, and each ability was determined by the different colors of his eyes.

Yellow colour was used to see the weakness in objects and people, and to also see through illusions.

His Eyes of Omniscience could also do all of these, but Corey had come to realize that because the abilities of his Eyes of Omniscience was extremely broad and covered a lot of things, it was not as powerful as certain eyes which were created for that specific purpose.

It was basically a jack of all trades, master of none.

Although his Eyes of Omniscience could see the weakness of objects and several things, it would require him to use more mental and spiritual energy to zone out every other thing he was going to see and only focus on the weakness of the object.

This would not have been a problem since he always used this ability in battle. But the structure and complexity of just a single tentacle of the abomination in the sky was putting an immense strain on his mind despite how powerful his mind was.

Zoning out all he was seeing just to locate the weakness of the tentacle that was about to take the crown would take a lot more energy than he wanted to spend.

However, if he used his Eyes of Truth and Judgement which was more specialized in seeing the weakness of objects, he would use a lot less energy compared to his Eyes of Omniscience.

Intermixed in his vision which he was seeing through his Eyes of Omniscience was a large yellow spot on the tentacle, and the moment Corey appeared in front of the tentacle... he swung his glowing Genesis Armament.

THRUM

The world thrummed, and then a loud screech of pain shook the world and caused immense destruction all across the Dying City and beyond it.

Corey was flung away due to the immense shockwave of the jellyfish's screech, and so was the crown.

Corey created a long platform of hexagon barriers which he tumbled and skidded on. He forcefully came to a stop, and he looked up.

However, the moment he looked up, his pupils constricted.

There were six tentacles coming for him at a speed that would put most Tier 6s to shape.

He quickly teleported away, avoiding an extremely deadly situation. But the moment he appeared in another location, he felt an immense threat from above.

He looked up, and goosebumps instantly appeared on his arms.

The red stars, or to be more precise, the red eyes in the sky were glowing so brightly that the Dying City was slowly becoming a shade of red.

'Oh shit.'

Corey's eyes widened, and a second later, the red stars all released a beam unto the Dying City.

'Too fast.'

In one moment, the red beams were high up in the sky, and in the next moment, they were were less than ten meters from the tip of his hair.

Corey's eyes flashed with a yellow light as he located the weakness of the red beam, and then his body moved at a speed that caused several of his bones to break and dislocate.

His Genesis Armament appeared in his hands, and then he swung it at the red beam that was above him.

Veins appeared on his throat and head as he roared out loud.

"FULL COUNTER!"

BANG!

An extremely loud explosion resounded in the world as Corey's axe met the red beam.

Space shattered around him, and Corey nearly fell to the ground due to the immense force of the red beam of light. However, he was continuously creating tens of thousands of hexagon barriers beneath his feet with every second that passed.

But despite doing this, he was constantly getting closer and closer to the ground.

Blood poured out of his orifices, and his bones shattered in multiple places. The only thing that was helping him was his Stars of Consciousness and resilience which enabled him to keep on moving and not fall.

Blood spewed out of Corey's glowing white eyes and gritted teeth, and then he glanced in the direction of Death who was watching him with a deep frown on his face.

Corey unleashed a roar, and then he shouted out loud once again.

FULL COUNTER!

CRACK!

BOOM!

A crack echoed in the world, and the red beam was redirected in the direction of Death.
