Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 1137: 1134: His Unique Armor

His Unique Armor

When it came to the armor Corey wanted, it was more difficult for him to think of a unique armor than a unique weapon because armors could not be so unique.

The purpose of a weapon was to kill, and there were many ways one could kill a living entity.

Many

Which meant there were numerous types of weapons and abilities one could give their weapons.

But for an armor?

Its only purpose was to protect, and protecting could not be done in so many ways like killing.

Despite Corey having these thoughts in the past, the armor he had in mind was not just an armor with average skills.

He wanted his armor to be able to adapt to attacks.

For example, the armor would harden against slashing attacks, but it'd soften against blunt force.

It would also be able to become porous like sponges to absorb energy-based attacks. It should also be to shifts its shape microscopically to redirect any force that lands on it.

He wanted his armor to be alive and living.

He also wanted his armor to be able to not only block physical and mana based attacks, he wanted his armor to be able to block spiritual, soul, and Will attacks.

There were other abilities he wanted his armor to possess, and one of them was to harmonize with the elements.

Many Blacksmiths would craft an armor that could resist specific(s) elements, but Corey wanted to craft an armor that could harmonize with the nine elements instead of resisting them.

What he wanted was for the armor to convert any elemental damage into temporary buffs while making sure to prevent elemental overload or backlash.

For example, a fire attack could boost his speed and also the offensive power of the armor.

Lightning attacks could boost its reaction speed.

And Earth attacks could boost its defense and stability.

There would obviously be a limit to how high the buffs could reach, but this would make such an armor to be the bane of many mages and beings that relied on an element or several elements as their means of attack.

Another ability Corey wanted was for his armor to be able to devour other armors, metals, and ores to grow.

This devouring ability was an idea he got from the Devourer's Armor he had which prevented him from being able to wear other armors.

And there was another hidden ability of the Devourer's Armor which he never used because it was not useful to him.

Manifestation

Manifestation was an ability that reminded Corey of an anime his sister loved so much.

The name of the ability in the anime was Susanoo, and the Devourer's Armor had the same ability as Susanoo.

The Devourer's Armor was a reward he got for slaying the Demi-Cosmic Fog Devourer in the dungeon of his school, and its true body was actually a centipede-like creature that resided in his heart.

It was this centipede-like creature that prevented him from wearing any other armor apart from the Devourer's Armor.

If he ever wore another armor aside from the Devourer's Armor, it would try to kill him by consuming his heart.

When he was a Tier 1 and a Tier 2, the Devourer's Armor true body was extremely dangerous to him.

But when he became a Tier 3 and obtained more knowledge through the Underworld and The Archive, the Devourer's Armor was no longer a threat to him.

Manifestation was an ability of the Devourer's Armor which allowed him to project or manifest the true body of the Devourer's Armor around himself.

The skill would create a massive centipede-like creature that would protect him from attacks, just like Susanoo.

It would be like he was being protected by the Demi-Cosmic Fog Devourer, but one of a higher Tier.

The Manifestation would also be able to attack just like a Susanoo, and it was a very useful ability.

However, the reason why Corey chose not to use the skill or even the Devourer's Armor all the time is because the more he used the Manifestation skill and the more he fed and evolved the Devourer's Armor, the more the true body of the Devourer's Armor fused into his heart, spirit, and Will.

In the past, Corey believed that to use the Manifestation ability of the Devourer's Armor, only spiritual energy was needed.

A lot of spiritual energy.

But his instincts warned him about the Devourer's Armor, and as usual, he listened to it.

It was when he got to know about Wills that he realized that the Devourer's Armor was not only using his Spiritual Energy to use Manifestation, it needed to devour his unformed Will to use Manifestation.

And while it devoured his unformed Will, the Will of the Devourer's Armor got stronger, and after some time, it would attempt to devour his Will and entire being.

The Devourer's Armor was a ticking time bomb, and Corey did not need such an item.

This was why he rarely used the Devourer's Armor.

As for why he never removed it?

It's because he already knew that he would craft his personal unique armor, and the only armor that truly caught his eye was the Gravenheart Armor, which he got as a reward for defeating Death.

And last but not least, Corey wanted an armor that could grow by his side like Primus.

There were other tiny details Corey wanted for his armor, but they were not as significant as these details.

For example... Partial Manifestation, which is him being able to manifest a part of the armor's body, and not the entire armor.

He also wanted his armor to be able to store the energy it absorbs from attacks and also release the energy whenever he wanted or whenever it reaches a threshold.

Corey wanted all of these in his armor, and if any Blacksmith were to hear of all these things, they would look at Corey like he was a mad man.
