Chapter 147: Chapter 96.2: Both God and Devil

Maki stared after him, stunned.

It wasn't concern for her safety but necessity. Chu Yang needed to finish the battle before Gojo arrived—otherwise, Suguru Geto wouldn't stand a chance.

Using Observation Haki, Chu Yang pinpointed Geto's location and appeared at the end of the path, waiting for him.

Suguru Geto's expression didn't change when Chu Yang materialized. Smiling casually, he asked, "I thought the school was deserted. By the looks of it, you're neither a student nor a teacher. Are you with the logistics team?"

Chu Yang smiled faintly. "Close enough."

"How about a deal? Let me pass, and I'll spare your life," Geto offered, his tone seemingly kind.

"Then let me counter-propose. Call me big brother, and when I make my move, I'll go easy on you," Chu Yang replied, his smile even more amiable than Geto's.

Suguru Geto seemed surprised, momentarily stunned. "Do you even know who I am?"

Chu Yang nodded. "The meeting a few days ago covered it quite thoroughly—you're a Special Grade Curse User, a peer of Gojo Satoru, supposedly pretty skilled."

"You don't seem like a lunatic, yet you dare talk to me like this. I know every Special Grade Sorcerer, but I've never heard of you..." Geto squinted, his smile ambiguous.

"It's normal that you haven't heard of me; my Grade One certification just came through," Chu Yang replied earnestly.

Geto couldn't hold back any longer and burst into laughter. "You're quite the amusing guy. I almost feel reluctant to kill you."

Chu Yang unsheathed his blade, smiling. "For that sentiment, I'll try to hit you lightly later. Maybe just fifty percent of my strength."

Geto's laughter abruptly stopped, his gaze turning murderous as he coldly spat two words, "A lunatic."

With a wave of his hand, the narrow alleyway was instantly engulfed in dark mist, as curses began to crawl out from within.

"Testing isn't necessary—it's a waste of time."

Just as Chu Yang finished speaking, a blinding sword light illuminated the alleyway. The curses, barely making their entrance, disintegrated into nothingness under the radiant glow.

The smile on Geto's lips froze. He took a deep breath, fixing his gaze on Chu Yang. "Looks like you were waiting here for me on purpose."

Chu Yang chuckled. "I'm a skeptical person. Most of the time, I don't even trust my own people, let alone information from the mouth of an enemy."

Geto shrugged, spreading his hands in exasperation. "Come on, back then I was just a student at Jujutsu High, not exactly an enemy."

Chu Yang countered with a grin, "What if Jujutsu High is also my enemy?"

Geto's face turned serious, his brows furrowing. "Who exactly are you?"

Chu Yang didn't answer. Gripping his blade in one hand, he beckoned to Geto with a slight motion.

"No matter who you are, you can't stop my plan!"

Black mist swirled around Geto, its oppressive aura now far more intense than before. This time, the curses he summoned were clearly not mere second-grade fodder.

"This is one of my Special Grade curses, the Incarnation of Tamamo-no-Mae. Be sure to greet her properly."

Emerging from the mist was a humanoid curse clad in ancient attire, its face resembling a mask etched with a mocking smile.

At the same time, a curse appeared behind Geto, from which he retrieved a three-section staff.

This weapon, Playful Cloud, was a relic of Toji Fushiguro. Though devoid of techniques, it boasted sheer physical power. The stronger the user's arm strength, the more destructive it became.

"Fighting alongside your summons—what a touching display of camaraderie," Chu Yang quipped sarcastically.

Aware of Chu Yang's earlier show of power, Geto dared not be careless. He focused entirely on the attack. The man before him, wielding a katana, was undoubtedly Special Grade.

"Even with curse-enhanced strength, your body looks as fragile as paper to me," Chu Yang said contemptuously, raising his blade high like a deity passing judgment on mortals.

One slash descended.

The power of the sun and moon appeared simultaneously.

Blazing sunlight.

Gloomy moonlight.

The two forces intertwined like colossal millstones, obliterating everything within their glow.

[Origin Breathing: Second Form – Sun and Moon Radiance]

The Special Grade Curse, Incarnation of Tamamo-no-Mae, shrieked in agony the moment it stepped into the radiance, its body gradually disintegrating.

It tried to flee but found itself immobilized. Between the opposing lights was a powerful suction force, akin to a black hole.

Geto halted, watching helplessly as the curse was destroyed. His entire body erupted in goosebumps, a chill running from the base of his spine to the crown of his head.

Such overwhelming power—he had seen it only once before in his life.

Gojo Satoru.

Retreat crossed Geto's mind, but at this point, how could he?

Rika Orimoto was just within reach. If he could claim her, he could turn the tide!

Clenching his teeth, Geto released a massive number of curses, aiming to stall Chu Yang long enough to kill Yuta Okkotsu and seize her.

Meanwhile, Yuta and Maki Zenin, watching from a classroom, also noticed the swarm of curses.

They exchanged worried glances.

"Although Senior Yang is strong, handling so many curses alone might be tough. Should we go help him?"

"Of course!"

The two leapt out, dashing across rooftops.

In Shinjuku, Gojo Satoru belatedly deduced Geto's intentions. He teleported Panda and Toge Inumaki back to Jujutsu High.

"Yang is there. Assist him in stalling Geto. I'll return shortly."

The two were instantly transported above the school.

"A barrier! Gojo was right—Geto's here!" Panda shouted, preparing to break through the barrier with brute force.

But before he could, the barrier shattered with a resounding crash.

Two radiant lights illuminated the twilight-draped world: sunlight and moonlight.

Panda and Toge saw countless curses on the ground obliterated under the dual glow.

From closer up, Yuta and Maki witnessed the horrifying scene, trembling alongside Geto as they focused their attention on Chu Yang.

The man, bathed in radiant light, walked slowly forward.

Both a god and a devil.

"Careless..." Geto murmured, his bitter smile fading to despair as Chu Yang approached.

Had he known Chu Yang was this powerful, he would've attacked with his strongest curse techniques from the outset. Now, with most of his curses destroyed, even his Whirlpool technique lacked the power to threaten Chu Yang.

"I've lost," Geto admitted, oddly at peace.

He had given it his all, but luck was against him. History was filled with near-success stories; his was just another.

"Even if I'd succeeded... I might not have beaten Gojo anyway."

Geto chuckled self-deprecatingly, standing still as if awaiting death.

Chu Yang stepped forward, his blade aimed at Geto's heart.

Pain lanced through Geto's chest, but his expression didn't waver.

To the others watching, Chu Yang seemed to be cruelly twisting the blade in Geto's chest. They shivered, unwilling to intervene.

However, the truth was far from what it seemed. Chu Yang had inscribed a mysterious curse mark on Geto's heart, leaving him alive but unconscious.

This level of precision was a testament to Chu Yang's unparalleled swordsmanship.

The mark was a Flying Thunder God seal, allowing Chu Yang to teleport to Geto at any time.

Chu Yang hoisted Geto's "corpse" and walked out of Jujutsu High, leaving the others too intimidated to speak.

In an isolated area, Chu Yang healed Geto's wounds and woke him up.

"You're not killing me?"

"I need your life," Chu Yang replied.

"My life? It's worthless. I'm nothing more than an ant compared to you."

"Whether it's worthless, I decide. Even an ant can be significant if it's big enough."

Chu Yang continued, "I dislike the current state of the jujutsu world. The clans and the higher-ups decide good and evil, but in my eyes, some of them are worse than curse users."
