Chapter 1202: Strange welcome back



When I popped out of the water, the air bubble didn't disappear right away.

Since this air bubble was created with the power of Aquaron's relic, it wasn't something that would disappear just because it was out of the water.

To pop this air bubble, a special process was required.

But I didn't want to pop the air bubble until I was on land anyway.

So I floated over to the beach where I saw Klein and the others waiting for me.

The looks on their faces made it very clear what they were thinking, but there was nothing that I could say in response to this. After all, it was my fault that they were like this.

I had been the one that had basically abandoned them when I headed to the Merman Empire. So it was only natural that they would be looking at me with these looks on their faces. But the strange thing was that once I went onto land, what I expected to happen didn't happen.

They didn't say a single thing as they stood there like they were waiting for something. I didn't even pop the air bubble that was around me since I was waiting to see what they were planning to do.

However, since they didn't say anything...

"What are you waiting for? Pop the bubble already and let's go." Puffer said without any hesitation.

It seemed that this Great Witch of the Sea didn't have anything holding her back with the way that she said this directly.

Though in the first place, that was just how the Five Great Witches of the Sea were in terms of personality.

The sea witches represented freedom in the underwater world and the Five Great Witches of the Sea naturally had the greatest freedom out of all the sea witches. It was only natural that Puffer acted in her own interest without a care for what others thought.

So with an awkward look on my face, I used the button that Aquaron gave me to freeze the bubble and then shattered it.

Since the air bubble was made from divine power, it was only natural that it would require divine power to break.

After the air bubble shattered, Klein and the other royal guards turned around while Klein said, "Like she said, it's time to go."

"Huh?" A confused and surprised look appeared on my face when I heard this.

I didn't follow right away as I looked at Klein and the royal guards, trying to figure out what they were doing.

But it didn't seem like they were planning to wait for me, so I had no choice but to follow them.

They went all the way to the wyverns that were just waiting for us.

There were a few people that I didn't recognize at first, but then I realized that these must be the people that the Merman Empire sent to take care of Klein and the others while I was gone.

After all, they needed supplies to stay on Peace Island.

It wasn't as if they could just stay in this place that was almost completely empty. The buildings weren't restocked since they were only filled with things that were necessary when people were there.

So it was only natural that the Merman Empire would send people to take care of Klein and the others.

If something happened to Klein and the others, then it would be an international incident. Other than these people from the Merman Empire, there was someone that I recognized.

It was a member of the wyvern riders, but it wasn't a member of the group that had come with me. This person wasn't even a member of the royal guards, but rather a member of the messenger division.

He was someone that brought messages when it was necessary.

Once we arrived at the wyverns, Klein and the others got on their wyverns without any hesitation at all.

With the way that they got onto their wyverns, it was as if they didn't want to waste a single second longer here. It was as if they wanted to return to the Kite Kingdom as soon as they could.

"What's wrong?" I couldn't help asking them.

Klein just answered in a serious voice, "There's no time to talk, we need to get back as soon as possible."

"What do you mean by that?" I asked him, but there was only silence that followed as an

answer.

It seemed that Klein and the others were completely focused on getting back to the Kite Kingdom as soon as possible with the way that they were rushing.

It was clear that something had happened, but no one seemed to be telling me anything. During all of this, Puffer got on the back of one of the wyverns and was walking around just like what Ariel did when she got on the back of a wyvern the first time.

It seemed that being able to fly through the sky was an experience that all mermaids cared about very much with the way that they acted.

With the wyverns, we were able to make our way back quite quickly.

During this time, it seemed like no one was planning on telling me anything.

The only time we stopped was to have dinner, but even then...they didn't tell me a single

thing.

It seemed like they were ignoring me with the way that they acted.

But with the way that they acted, we arrived in the Kite Kingdom very quickly.

As soon as we arrived, Klein brought me to the palace.

One person might see it as escorting, but another person could see this as being dragged to

the palace.

Once we were there, I found the prime minister and the chancellor waiting there for me with grim looks on their faces.

I knew that this was not a good sign, so I waited to see what they had to say.

I certainly didn't expect what they said next.

"The demons have invaded."
