Chapter 1201: Different potion

Chapter 1201: Different potion

I was completely taken aback by what Aquaron said since he had said it in such a serious voice. It was unlike anything that he had said in the past.

Even when he was seriously deciding on whether to wear blue or green... he hadn't been as serious as this.

So why did he suddenly change the tone of his voice?

I didn't get to ask a single question in the end as the light started appearing in front of my eyes.

I knew that this was a sign that I was being sent back to the temple, so the only thing that I could do was look at Aquaron one last time.

I wasn't certain if I saw it correctly, but I could have sworn that he was looking right at me as the light was becoming stronger and stronger. Though I couldn't see his actual face, it seemed like he was trying to tell me something with the way that he looked at me...

But the light became too strong for me to see anything else.

When the light faded, I found that I was back inside the temple.

After appearing in the temple, I just silently looked down at the scarf that was in my hand.

However, I wasn't actually thinking about the scarf.

Rather, I was thinking about the last words that Aquaron had for me before I left his domain. Just what had he meant by those words?

But after silently standing there for a while, I couldn't think of a single thing as to what that was about.

It seemed like it was some kind of warning, but there was no way of telling what this warning was about since there were just too many things that were currently happening.

So the only thing that I could do was stop thinking about it for now until there were more signs showing what this warning was about.

These gods really liked being cryptic, I just wished that one of them could give me a proper message one of these days.

After this complaint, I walked out of the temple to everyone looking at me again.

Or rather, they were looking at the scarf that was in my hand.

Since I could feel the divine aura that was coming from it, it was only natural that they would be able to feel it as well.

But the Merman King stopped the priests and just brought me away.

That was because they had already arranged for me to head back to Peace Island. The trip to Aquaron's temple was actually being considered a detour rather than the main journey. That was just quickly they wanted me to leave.

It wasn't because they wanted to get rid of me, but rather because they wanted to get Ariel to a safe place as soon as possible. Or it was to a place that they considered safe compared to the current Merman Empire.

We were escorted all the way to where Peace Island was, but it was at the last moment that the Merman King and Merman Queen hesitated. It seemed that they weren't willing to see Ariel off in the end.

In the end, they had no choice but to let her go.

It really seemed like a hard decision for them, but it also seemed like they had to let her go with the expressions on their faces.

Was the corruption situation really that bad?

They hadn't told me a single thing about it, but since they were acting like this, it must have been pretty bad...

But since they weren't telling me anything, it wasn't as if I could say anything.

Before leaving, the Merman King pulled me aside and said, "Take care of my daughter." Then in a softer voice, he leaned in to say, "Or else."

A faint smile appeared on my lips as I said, "I'll do my best, but I did tell you that it's not safe on land right now."

The Merman King didn't say anything as he kept looking at me with the same stern look, but he eventually said with a sigh, "It's not safe anywhere."

He didn't say anything else as he went back to where the Merman Queen was.

It was just Puffer and Ariel who were coming with me.

However, before we left, I couldn't help looking at the potions that they had with a strange look.

"That's not the same potion as before."

I had already seen the potion that the Merman King's group used before to come onto land. The potions that Ariel and Puffer currently had were not the same potion as the one that they used.

Puffer just said with a calm smile, "It's my special blend. It's better than the stuff that they have."

I looked at her with a slightly concerned look, but thinking about her identity...I just slowly gave a nod in response.

A sea witch's potion should be better, right?

I didn't think too much about it as I headed towards the surface of the water.

When we approached, both Puffer and Ariel drank the potion before swimming up.

As they swam up, I could see their tails start to transform.

It was just that there was an awkward situation that happened as I watched this happen.

Since they were mermaids, they didn't have a habit of wearing clothes over their lower halves. And since they were swimming right above me, I was able to see everything as their tails

changed into legs.

That meant that I got a fully exposed view of everything down there...

Ariel realized her mistake and looked embarrassed, but Puffer didn't seem to care since she

didn't know that much about human society in the first place.

She didn't know that what she was currently doing was enough to send her to jail in our human society for public indecency...

It would be a lie to say that I couldn't help being a bit dazed seeing her smooth and fair legs,

but I turned my eyes away after a few seconds of staring.

Instead, I looked at the surface of the water and prepared to head back.
